En Gladiator i klassrummet : Historielärares didaktiska syn på film som ett pedagogiskt verktyg i historieundervisningen

Varje år producerar Hollywood flertalet filmer med utgångspunkt i historien och dessa formar den allmänna uppfattningen om historiska händelser och personer. Även i klassrummen har filmen hittat in och blivit en naturlig del av undervisningen för många historielärare. Det är dock, som tidigare forskning har visat, oklart huruvida dessa filmvisande lärare har en pedagogisk tanke bakom att trycka på Play. Denna uppsats syftar till att ge en bild av historielärares didaktiska syn på att visa film i undervisningen utifrån frågorna vad, hur och varför de gör det. Kvalitativa djupintervjuer efter en intervjuguide har genomförts med fem gymnasielärare.

Stress hos hund ? stressreducerande åtgärder på vårdavdelningen

Stress is common in today?s society, but the word stress has numerous connotations. The aim of this study was to investigate how dogs are effected by stress and what the veterinary nurse can do to help dogs to avoid or at least mitigate stress within the veterinary hospital. The goal was also to see how dogs perceive the environment in the veterinary hospital and what behaviours dogs demonstrate when they enter the hospital and during their stay. Studies have shown that dogs have a reluctant feeling on entering a veterinary hospital. They can feel stressed by coming to a new environment, as well as by being put in a cage with no control over what is going to happen to them.

Iron bioavailability and pro- and prebiotics

Iron deficiency is one of the most frequent micronutrient deficiencies around the world. Low iron bioavailability simultaneously with a high iron requirement is a high risk factor for developing iron deficiency. Probiotics are microorganisms that confer a health benefit on the host. Prebiotics are oligosaccharides which provide a health benefit on the host due to a positive modulation of the microflora in the gut. The aim of this paper is to evaluate if there is a connection between pro-and/or prebiotics and iron bioavailability.

Instruktionsfilm på smartphones : En studie kring upplevelsen av video via smartphones som inlärningsverktyg för praktiska färdigheter

This study examined how users interact with a smartphone while in a learning situation based on videos via smartphones as a learning tool, and how this interaction and phenomena is experienced. The five test subject were separately given the same task that they were to solve using video instructions that were picked out and given to them. After finishing the task the subjects were observed while they demonstrated how they completed the task. After the observation the subject were interviewed using semi-structured interviews. The results show that the user experience of this phenomena is based on more pragmatic values than we could find in earlier studies, i.e.

Nytt eller gammalt? ? En studie av stadsbiblioteken i Hässleholm och Kristianstad

The purpose of this essay is to examine how a newly built library and an old library from the sixties work out of an experience and feeling oriented view. Are the fundamental conditions of an old library compatible with the library standards of today? To be able to carry out this examination we have chosen two rather small Swedish libraries. One is the public library of Hässleholm, which opened in the year 2000, and the other is the public library of Kristianstad opened in 1965. The material used to attain the purpose of the study consists of literature studies and qualitative observations and interviews.

Syftet med denna undersökning var att ge en överskådlig syn på hur elever tänker kring användandet av internet. Undersökningen belyser även skillnader för informationssökning privat och i skolan, samt skillnader mellan teoretiska och praktiska program. Detta gjordes med hjälp av en kvantitativ metod där respondenterna fick fylla i en enkät. Resultatet har visat på att elever generellt sett använder både Wikipedia och Google i sitt sökande efter information. Det förekommer även en del elever som tror att censur gäller på internet.

Akademisk skrivkompetens i utveckling : En studie av organisation och ställningstagande i gymnasie­elevers utredande texter 

Synen på vad som utgör akademisk skrivkompetens varierar över tid och i olika kulturer. Förmågan att strukturera texter på ett logiskt och begripligt sätt kan dock ses som en universell vetenskaplig kompetens oavsett skrivmiljö, liksom förmågan att värdera kunskap och ta ställning i relation till olika källor. Denna studies syfte är att undersöka och kategorisera förekomsten av markörer för textuell organisation och ställnings­tagande i en grupp gymnasieelevers utredande texter samt att undersöka sambandet mellan bruket av dessa markörer och texternas betyg. Studiens korpus består av 18 utredande elevtexter, jämnt fördelade mellan betygen A, C och E. Texterna har analyserats genom kvalitativ närläsning med en analysmodell avsedd att fånga uttryck för textuell organisation och ställningstagande.

The accessibility which social media brings, means that you can reach and be reached in several ways and there are many different ways in which information can be disseminated. Social media supports the learning process. The aim of this study is to examine how upper secondary schools students' use of social media and how it can be used as a tool for informal learning. Our study is based on the socio-cultural perspective where interaction and social cohesion is a big part.

Vad påverkar HIV i Sydafrika? : En teoretisk och empirisk analys av Sydafrikas provinser 2008

What affects Hiv in South Africa's different provinces? This thesis examines if education, unemployment rate, GDP per capita, and the literacy rate has any relationship with the Hiv prevalence. This is analyzed using theory and data in the form of a simple microeconomic model and an econometric regression analysis based on cross sectional data of the provinces of South Africa. The regression analysis shows that unemployment rate and education have significant effects of the Hiv prevalence in South Africa. The microeconomic model in the thesis indicates that when education is higher, individuals are more aware that the probability of being infected by Hiv is higher when the Hiv prevalence is high.

Democracy is now a legitimate claim not only in the society but even in the classrooms. According to the 1994 Curriculum for the Non-Compulsory School System, Lpf 94 in Sweden, are all pupils in all types of schools ought to have a high level of possibilities to be able to influence their education. But many studies have led to unsatisfactory results about the actual situation in schools. Swedish students are critical of the limited opportunities they have in influencing their own learning process. This essay is only one among the many studies that have dealt with school democracy during the last 50 years.

INFERENSER I BILDSAMTAL : - När elever läser bilder

Denna studie syftar till att undersöka hur elever läser bilder.Frågeställningen som undersöks är Vilka olika sorters inferenser göreleverna när de kommunicerar kring lästa bilder? Empirin som är hämtadi en årskurs två och tre analyseras genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Detframkom sex underkategorier av inferenser; Inferens genom kopplingar tillegna erfarenheter, Inferens genom kopplingar utanför och mellanbilderna, Inferens genom att förutspå och förklara handling, Inferensutifrån tolkning av karaktären, Inferens genom koppling mellan fantasioch verklighet och Inferens genom att koppla bild till onomatopoetiska ordsamt ord i text. Studiens slutsats är att elever spontant gör olika sortersinferenser och att det finns många faktorer som påverkarinferensskapandet. Studien visar även att eleverna behöver stöd i form avfrågor när de ska utveckla inferensförmågan samt att de förhåller sig tillbildmaterialet på olika vis..

VD-ersättning och ägarkoncentration: En studie om ersättningsnivåerna i svenska börsbolag

This study examines whether the ownership structure of Swedish firms contributes to explain the variations in executive pay. A regression analysis was performed on 102 companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The analysis suggests a negative relationship between ownership structure and executive pay after taking company profitability and size into account. The result is in line with previous studies and the agency theory. This indicates that large shareholders have a stronger position in Swedish companies or that large shareholders monitor the management to a larger extent, rather than providing incentives.

En granskning av det internationellt använda frågeformuläret International Outcome Inventory for Hearing Aids (IOI-HA).

Assessment of hearing aids can be done by inventories. The result of the inventories can show the patients need and how the hearing aids works in the patients daily life. The result of the inventories can be influenced by the difference in languages and the cultures. The inventory IOI-HA should not be sensitive to those factors.The aim of this study was to compare and analyse material, method and to report and analyse the result from a pilot study made at Sahlgrenska University.The result showed that IOI-HA is a natural inventory which is able to be used internationally. The four studies in England, USA, the Netherlands, and Germany showed that the psychometric properties are similar across languages and cultures.

The current paper is a study of the character Christian Grey in the EL James trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey. The main aim is to find out how masculinity, sexuality and gender are constructed in this erotic fantasy. More over terms as femininity, unmanliness and gender have relevance to the study. Several studies have been done on romance novels and Harlequin in particular from a gender perspective, but few of them from a masculine point of view. Hence, no earlier study has been done on Fifty Shades of Grey with masculinity studies as the main tool of masculinity, or with theories of romance.
