Denna undersökning syftade till att undersöka vad de medel som man under barocken använde för att väcka och stilla människans affekter har för påverkan på dagens musikstuderande ungdom, samt hur nära deras upplevda affekter ligger de affekter som barockens musikskribenter såg i musiken. För att studera detta använde jag mig av en kvantitativ enkätundersökning. Jag spelade upp valda delar ur ett stycke av Monteverdi för dem och undersökte i enkätform vad de upplevde för affekter. De flesta försökspersoner uppfattade de stora musikaliska mönstren, som oftast är de som uttrycker olika grad av energi, medan de underliggande, mer nyanserade mönstren, som kan uttrycka om ett litet stycke musik har en positiv, negativ eller neutral laddning, uppfattades mer sällan.

The aim of this study is to investigate how preschool teachers reason about gender stereotypical and gender neutral toys and other material. I would also like to see how the pedagogues reason about gender segregation when it comes to toys. To investigate the issue, I have interviewed three pedagogues from different preschools. The results showed that the work procedures differed a bit from school to school, although they all wanted to achieve the same goal. A goal that our curriculum mention as well: Not to make a difference between boys and girls.

The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the occurrence of Scandinavia in the then daily English newspaper Yorkshire Herald during the First World War. The dissertation looks into what the Yorkshire Herald wrote about Scandinavia in the parts of the newspaper where the newspaper´s own opinion was given. This approach is connected to the theoretical idea that the British local and regional press was politically free during the war period. The dissertation also looks into the number of news telegrams etcetera that concerned Scandinavia during the period.The result shows that Scandinavia, both as a whole as well as the three individual countries, was mentioned about 700 times, split over about 600 telegrams and articles, during the examined period stretching from the first of August 1914 to the eleventh of November 1918. Material that gives the newspaper´s opinion regarding issues concerning Scandinavia can be found six times during the period.

This paper has it?s starting point in the midst of the debate concerning behaviour in socialmedia. Prior research has primarily been concerned with the role and responsibility of theuser while technology has been viewed as morally neutral. The base of the study isdiscourse analysis and a discursive psychology perspective is used to compare texts onTwitter and Facebook that were published during the events of the Boston bombings.The aim is to examine how platform users construct reality, groups and identities andwhat consequences those constructions bring. An interpretation of why the discourse ofTwitter and Facebook differ is grounded in aspects of design, which have been identifiedas having an influence on behaviour.

It can take the form of our immediate family, our classmates, the books we read, the teve series we watch or the magazines we read. Everyday the world around us shape the way we think of men and women and how they're supposed to be. As a part of either (or neither) of those genders we are all shaped into the mold that society has set for us. The media is one of the largest contributors to this socialization and therefore we felt it necessary to study two, critically acclaimed, media outlets and shed some light on their portrayals of gender. We chose to study Filter and Fokus, two social magazines with close to a corresponding amount male as female readers and a reputation of being modern and free of prejudice.

Chemical stabilization of mine waste from Ljusnarsbergsfältet with sewage sludge and calcium carbonate residuesMine waste from Ljusnarsbergsfältet in Kopparberg, Sweden, is considered to constitute a great risk for human health and the surrounding environment. Some of the waste rock consists of sulphide minerals. When sulphide minerals come into contact with dissolvedoxygen and precipitation, oxidation may occur resulting in acid mine drainage (AMD) and the release of heavy metals. The purpose of this study has been to characterise the waste material and try to chemically stabilize the waste rock with a mixture of sewage sludge and calcium carbonate. The drawback of using organic matter is the risk that dissolved organic matter can act as complexing agents for heavy metals and in this way increase their mobility.

The purpose of this study is to examine whether the high school textbook on religious studies differences in how Christian ethics and in what way it is presented in comparison with the presentation of Buddhism, Hinduism and Judaism and it´s ethics. The analyzed material is textbooks from the late 1960s to the 2010s. Due to the survey´s nature the focus is first and foremost the chapters dealing with religious ethical issues and what amount of pages or space the different religions are given in the books. The results from the textbooks are compared with the curriculum that is or was effective during the time the books were published. This is done to determine whether there is a clear link between the books and the guidelines of the curriculum.

Medias rapportering av nyheter är frekvent och forskning visar att vi påverkas av dess utformning. På vilka sätt detta sker är mer otydligt. Föreliggande studie syftade till att undersöka medias eventuella inflytande och dess kraft att styra läsarnas attityd till ett annat land genom inramning och val av information. Påverkas individer av nyheter som är avsiktligt inramade och där informerandeprincipen kan förväntas träda in? Studenter (N = 90) från en svensk högskola testades via fiktiva nyhetsartiklar i fem versioner.

Denna kandidatuppsats har till syfte att kartla?gga unga vuxnas (18-24 a?r) upplevelse av arbetslo?shet. Utifra?n sex intervjuer har en fenomenografisk analys gjorts. Det visade sig att upplevelserna av arbetslo?shet generellt var negativa, ingen av de unga vuxna ansa?g att det var en positiv eller o?nskva?rd situation att befinna sig i.

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to examine the work situation and career opportunities among women police. We use a gender perspective as a guideline during the examination. Despite words of being, and work to create, gender neutral organization, women police is greatly underrepresented. The interviewed women gave a picture of an organization in which they had to work harder than their male colleagues to advance. The biggest problem seems to lie in the hierarchy dominated by male police officers and the fact that women, during pregnancy, are missing out on valuable time at work, and thus, also essential experiences for future career advancement.

I have used a discourse analysis as a method and queertheori for the theoretical. In this paper I have analyzed how different wedding magazines write about partnerships, gender-neutral marriage and wedding between homosexuals. I have for some time been interested in the beliefs wedding magazines have about homosexuality and how newspapers maintain heteronormativity implicitly and explicitly. Bridal magazines are anxious to have the marriage as a design and standard when they write about partnership. When they write about the two different forms of marriage, they glorify the religious marriage and pay no attention to civil marriage.

In this essay, I compare ten different depictions of the Irish Easter Rising of 1916. These depictions are all from books published between 1924 and 2000, which deal with a wider context of the history of Ireland or Northern Ireland. I relate the depictions to the point in time when they were written, the geographic focus of the book, and the views that the author expresses about the present and the future, and about the significance of history. The main result of my essay is that the depictions differ in a way that seems connected to whether or not there was an ongoing violent conflict in Ireland at the time the books were written. Texts written when the political violence was present, or close, in time and location, are likely to be written either in a neutral tone with concern about objectivity, or incorporating the Easter Rising events in context of an ongoing socialist struggle.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka attityden mot datorspel i undervisning hos religionslärare på gymnasienivå i Luleå kommun. En enkätundersökning och en intervjuundersökning med hermeneutisk utgångspunkt ligger till grund för detta. Enkätundersökningen visade att attityden var neutral lutandes åt det negativa, medan intervjuundersökningen visade en allmänt positiv inställning till datorspel i undervisning. Denna diskrepans kunde åtminstone delvis spåras till att vissa av respondenterna på enkätundersökningen, som utgjorde underlag till intervjupersonerna, var, av någon anledning, mer positiva i intervjusituationen än när de svarade på enkäten. Den positiva inställning som intervjuundersökningen resulterade i stämde väl överens med den tidigare forskning som gjorts på lärare i Sverige.

The purpose of this study is to examine the difference between three query strategies with respect to retrieval effectiveness. The thesis aims at examining how two types of noun phrases containing a modifier to the head word, which is a noun affect the retrieval performance with regard to recall and precision. The noun phrases in the thesis are of two types: 1) noun phrases containing a modifier to the head word (which is a noun) and which are not dictionary phrases (NF) and 2) dictionary phrases. Both types of noun phrases in this thesis contain at least two words. The queries were executed in Query Performance Analyser, QPA, containing the InQuery system and a sub collection of TREC-Uta documents with its topics.
