Due to a constantly increasing competitive pressure it is of great importance to constantly strive for improvements in order to gain competitive advantages. Lean Production is a concept that has been introduced with the aim to minimize waste and increase profitability. The purpose of this report is therefore to investigate how to perform effective planning according to the principles of Lean Production, in companys with customer exclusive products, through a case study at Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC), and to investigate how SMC kan improve their planning of drifting rods at the production unit in Sandviken.The study started by creating a theoretical framework, to describe the subject planning and planning based on Lean Production. This frame work constituted the base for the case study which took place at Sandvik Mining and Construction, and also for the model and planning tool that has been introduced.The result of the study is partly a general model with factors that contribute to a more effective planning. These factors has beed identifed as SMED, which focuses on reducing set up times and in the end to facilitate the planning.

This thesis is basically an attempt to discuss the intrinsic intersubjective nature of the so-called ideal sciences, i.e. geometry or arithmetic. Based upon a thorough analysis of Husserls The Origin of Geometry and Derridas Edmund Husserl's Origin of Geometry: an Introduction this thesis takes geometry as an example of an ideal science. The main question of the thesis is how an ideal science or object is constituted. The thesis consist of two main chapters - ?Geometry and Historicity? and ?Language?- and a concluding discussion.

Huvudsyftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka tre stora svenska tidningars bevakning av de ekonomiskt viktiga händelser som inträffade hösten 2008 och våren 2009 i jämförelse med mediebevakningen av det sena 1980-talets och tidiga 1990-talets bankkris, samt ur ett konstruktivistiskt perspektiv. Studiens resultat ställs i förhållande till Hadenius och Söderhjelms slutsatser från deras undersökning av bankkrisen under det tidiga 1990-talet.      Uppsatsen ska ge en bild av hur de svenska dagstidningarna Svenska Dagbladet, Dagens Nyheter och Dagens Industri valde att framställa och kommentera krisen för den svenska fordonsindustrin, Carnegie-affären och Swedbanks förtroendekris. En övergripande fråga som ställs till materialet är hur dessa händelser har bevakats och gestaltats av ledande kommentatorer och krönikörer i de utvalda tidningarna. Materialet analyseras i perspektiv av den konstruktivistiska teoribildningen utifrån vilken det förutsätts att det journalistiska arbetet påverkar den verklighet som ska beskrivas.

Strandskyddsproblematiken är startskottet för detta examensarbete. Det är en problematik som har sitt ursprung i strandskyddslagen, en lag som funnits i Sverige sedan 1950-talet. Lagen har alltsedan dess uppkomst väckt en rad känslor, den är både omdiskuterad och omstridd. På senare år har diskussionen om strandskydd blommat upp på nytt, det i takt med att kraven på strandnära boende har ökat samt att lagen har tolkats olika. Det har resulterat i att lagen idag står inför en förändring.

In this composition, a study of consignment inventory on basis of the factors which are important for implementation and application of consignment inventory are made. Logistics chain from subcontractor to end customer is becoming more complex when the volume of items constantly increases to satisfy the needs of the market. From that perspective, companies had large inventories but today it is a lot of different solutions to streamline inventory management. One way that recently becomes increasingly common is to let the subcontractor fill up the customers stock using different approaches such as VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory). A further step in the evolution can be to make use of consignment inventory where the vendor owns the stock of the customer.

I den här uppsatsen har jag valt att undersöka pressbilden av Nazitysklands erövringar av under 1938. Först det så kallade Anschluss i Österrike och sen ockupationen av delar av dåvarande Tjeckoslovakien, det så kallade Sudetenlandet. Som forskningsmaterial har jag valt att undersöka två tidningar, Social-Demokraten och Stockholms-Tidningen. Syftet har varit att försöka förstå den vilken bild en läsare fick av de här händelserna när de föregav sig samt undersöka hur tidningarna förhöll sig till sina källor och hur de beskrev frågorna kring folk och minoriteter som de här kriserna handlade om.Som utgångspunkt för min undersökning har jag anlagt ett moraliskt perspektiv som det målats upp av Klas Åmark i hans bok Att bo granne med ondskan. Jag har utfört en kvalitativ hermeneutisk studie av 135 antal artiklar jämt fördelade mellan de två tidningarna där jag dels jämfört tidningarna med varandra men även jämfört det som skrivs med vad som faktiskt skedde rent historiskt.Jag har kommit fram till att tidningarna skiljer sig markant åt i sin rapportering, Social-Demokraten presenterar en mycket negativ bild av det som sker och ger klart Nazityskland skulden för det som sker medan den bild av händelserna som Stockholms-Tidningen framför är mycket mer ?neutral? och bitvis pro-tysk.Båda tidningarna rapporterar om minoritetsfrågan, både den judiska och den sudettyska och intar olika attityder mot dessa men upphör sedan att vidare beskriva dessa minoriteters öden allt eftersom kriserna går mot sitt slut..

Sjukvården i Sverige möter allt fler patienter med invandrarbakgrund. Patienterna kan ha språk, kultur och religion som skiljer sig från vårdgivarens. Detta kan skapa svårigheter för vårdgivaren i det tvärkulturella vårdmötet. Forskning som berör den svenska audionomens perspektiv på det tvärkulturella vårdmötet är sällsynt. Därav denna studie.Syftet är att ur svenska audionomens perspektiv beskriva vårdmötet med vuxna patienten med invandrarbakgrund vid landstingens audionomtätaste audionommottagningar.

The degree project is performed at Metso Kamfab. The production is aimed on machines everything from handling of fiber to paper pulp. Metso Fiber and Kamfab are using Pro/Engineer for design and blueprint production. The processing department types the NC-programs in notepad on the basis of the blueprints, the CAD-dates that already is there are not used. The aim with the work is to study if Kamfab can use CAM-system for processing and production of programs for their NC-machines.

This essay discusses the students? thoughts about the teacher's response to their gender identity. The students discuss their right to have an intergender identity which means that they don?t identify themselves in the traditional sexes, man and woman, and the gender role each category has. They want to be called with a neutral pronoun and not be seen like boys or girls.

Organizational democracy has been a popular research area in recent decades but the implementation in real organizations is slow (Kokkinidis, 2012; Verdorfer, Weber, Unter Rainer & Seyr, 2013). Several researchers (Schön Jansson, 2012; Falkheimer, Heide & Johansson, 2013) argue that communication practitioners have a key role in democratic processes and that because their job role is under constant change there are only a few modern studies regarding the subject. The purpose of this study is to illustrate how communication practitioners in private and public organizations experience their role in the process of internal communication and to what extent they are aware of, and work with internal organizational democracy.The practitioners we interviewed had a strong feeling that they were a support function for the business and the organizational management. As a result of the study it is clear that communication practitioners are very loyal to their employers and to the organization they work for. They are, therefore, not neutral in their professional role and argue that their task is to represent the management's interests.

In the post-war era many European countries were recovering from the ravages of the bombings of the second world war destroying whole countries. Sweden being neutral was spared the destruction of war but instead we demolished almost as much housing all by ourselves. A social program was modeled to modernize the country and to drag the swedes out of poverty by building one million apartments in just ten years and demolishing the old, dilapidated working-class neighborhoods. The traumatic events of the demolition of large areas of both the central and the outskirts of most Swedish cities is still very much present in the collective memory of people today and the new modernistic districts are still paying the price of that, more than fifty years later. Today these modernistic districts are in need of repair, and they are often homes to groups alienated from society making their reputation even worse.

AbstractDuring the last five years there has been a considerable immigration from the Netherlands to Värmland in Sweden. INVA, Invest in Värmland, wanted to highlight this phenomenon and therefore contacted Karlstad University to make a survey about how extensive the immigration is and what consequences it brings for the business life and municipalities in Värmland. We were luckily chosen to perform this research and the main focus in this study has been the following questions:? Why do the Dutchmen choose to buy their house in Värmland?? What are the main reasons for leaving the Netherlands?? What consequences does the immigration cause for the business life in Värmland?? How do the Dutchmen experience the contact with Swedish authorities?To answer the questions we designed a questionnaire that was sent to 200 Dutch house purchasers. The ambition was to survey all the Dutch house purchasers in Värmland, but with the time constrains and the municipalities having problem to find complete data, we limited the survey to 200 households.
