This paper examines the power producing dams along the Ume-river as an integral part of and a result from the urbanization process in Sweden during industrial capitalism. The aim of the paper is to contribute to the knowledge of the urbanization process in Sweden in general and of its traces along the Ume river in the county of Västerbotten in particular. The paper applies the theory of concentrated urbanization and extended urbanization put forward by Neil Brenner and Christian Schmid (2015) and argues that the building of power producing dams along the Ume-river is part of an extended urbanization process. This becomes particularly evident when examining the vast physical structures that is the dams, situated in an otherwise remote and sparsely populated area. These vast physical structures are also very well connected to a nation wide electric grid that has connections to bordering countries as well.

The HBTQ-society is not a homogeneous group; it contains a range of different sub-groups. QX is Sweden?s biggest magazine aimed at members of the HBTQ-society. The purpose of this study is to analyze if the magazine is more directed towards gay men or women ? both by examining how many men versus women appear in QX, but also by looking at the different ways in which the articles are more relevant to either men or women, such as by tone, language or choice of subjects.In this study, we have analyzed twelve issues of QX, from January 2012 to December 2012, in order to get the most current results as possible.

För första gången någonsin arrangerar Sverige år 2005 ett möte för länder som ingår i Nato och Partnerskap för fred, PFF. Med utgångspunkt i detta fokuserar uppsatsen på hur Sveriges nuvarande relation till Nato kan förstås, och på möjligheterna för Sverige att stå neutral i händelse av krig.Studien utgår från utrikesminister Laila Freivalds officiella retorik om säkerhetspolitik under år 2004 och 2005. Totalt analyseras fem tal med hjälp av tre teorier. Dessa behandlar Sverige som liten stat, Nato:s nya roll och den förändrade hotbilden samt utvecklingen av den svenska säkerhetspolitiken.Resultatet visar att Freivalds i sin retorik bortser från att Sverige är ett litet land med begränsat inflytande i den internationella politiken. Hon målar upp en komplicerad och global hotbild som indirekt riktas mot Sverige, och ger en uppfattning av att Sverige är i behov av säkerhetspolitiskt samarbete.

Presently Sjöfartsverket do their maintenance according to a standard program, which means that every maintenance task will be done when the task limit occurs. This leads to a very long downtime for the aircraft in some occasions and very short downtime in others. The goal with this work is to reach a higher regularity of the aircraft operation. To reach a higher regularity for the operational needs, this work will present a hypothetic better maintenance concept for Swedish Maritime Administration. The concept is based on equalized maintenance structure, which means that every maintenance occasions are meant to take the same time to perform.

The purpose with this report is to give structure to the storage area betweenproduction and packaging at Spaljisten AB in Åseda. The purpose is also to givesuggestions for improvements of work tasks and thereby simplify and improve thematerial handling at the packing process.The background of the task is that Spaljisten AB is going to increase theirproduction and thereby they also need to increase the packing rate of theirproducts. They will manage this by installing a new automated packing line andincrease the efficiency of the old manual one. The theoretical background ismostly obtained from literature which contains relevant facts for our report.The storage area has been studied visually in order to search for improvements oftoday?s layout.

With this essay we have had the intention of observing Linköping University as an example of a public authority undergoing change. In the information society of today, the increasing competition and internationalization affects, not only companies and organizations, but also the public sector. After having been concerned with neutral information spread only, according to"the third mandate", employees at the Department of Information at Linköping University has also started dealing with marketing, so as to increase the recruitment of students. As a result of this, the work team has been divided into an editorial staff and a department with emphasis on market issues. To strengthen the trademark of Linköping University one has chosen to mediate certain values representative for the university - an interdisciplinary and innovative approach and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Bakgrund: Patienters upplevelser av intensivvård har i många studier undersökts från ett kvalitativt perspektiv. För att kunna skapa resultat som är generaliserbara behövs kvantitativa studier som utgår från validerade instrument.Syfte: Syftet är att översätta, validera och testa instrumentet Intensive Care Experience Questionnaire (ICEQ), vilket har för avsikt att undersöka patienters upplevelser av att vårdas på intensivvårdsavdelning.Metod: Instrumentet översattes till svenska i en process som inkluderade både expertgruppsbedömning och back-translation till engelska. Den svenska versionen av ICEQ (items=31) testades i en pilotstudie med patienter som vårdats på en intensivvårdsavdelning.Resultat: Deltagarna (n=14) hade en medianålder på 59 år och medelvårdtid på 2,0 dygn. Majoriteten var nöjda med vården, men många patienter som erhållit invasiv ventilatorbehandling hade skrämmande upplevelser. Genom en explorativ faktoranalys skapades fyra kategorier av frågor.

ABSTRACTThis thesis contains a partial edition of a previously unpublished manuscript, De lapidibus et gemmis (MH 59, Lund University Library). The manuscript was probably written in the late XVth century and consists of five parts. Part 1 (ff 1r-1v) and 2 (ff 2r-14r) are written in Latin, part 3 (ff 14v), which is probably later than the rest of manuscript (XVI century?), in German, part 4 (ff 18r-33r) in Latin (some smaller passages in Swedish), part 5 (ff 34r-34v) in Latin and Swedish. The manuscript was written by at least two hands, probably more.I have chosen to examine and edit part 2, ff 2r-14r, which I have identified as a partial transcript of the franciscan Bartholomeus Anglicus encyclopedic work De proprietatibusrerum, probably written between 1230 and 1260.

Deltagarna bestod av 26 kvinnor och män i åldrarna nitton till femtiosju år (M = 32). Under mätning med funktionell magnetresonanstomografi (fMRI) fick forskningdeltagarna läsa olika påstående i tre valenser (positiva, neutrala och negativa). Dessa var i sin tur antingen riktade till personen själv, eller till någon annan. Resultaten visar att positiva stimuli, riktade till personen själv, aktiverar nätverk inom mediala prefrontalcortex (mPFC, BA 8 & 10) och tenderade till lateralisering i höger hemisfär.

The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to examine how public libraries in Sweden handles their weeding procedures. A series of questions are asked: How does libraries in Sweden motivate weeding? What principles constitutes the procedure of weeding? Which aspects are given most importance when weeding is decided. How does views on weeding differ between libraries of different sizes? How does longer or shorter professional experience influence the view on weeding? The study was done through an online questionnaire which was sent to a number of staff members on different libraries via e-mail.

Syftet med det här arbetet är att se om tekniker för att skapa spänning i film fungerar för ett spel. Två banor för pc-spelet Left 4 Dead 2 skapas där den första banan bygger på professor Magy Seif El-Nasrs et al. teorier kring ljussättningar i film. Den andra banan innehåller en neutral ljussättning. Arbetet utgår främst från El-Nasrs et al.

Chemical substances are spread diffusely and uncontrollably as a result of the increased consumption of goods. REVAQ is a certification system that works to reduce the flow of hazardous substances to Swedish treatment plants and to create a sustainable nutrient recycling. According to REVAQ, the yearly accumulating rate of metals should not exceed 0.2% in soil per year. Silver and bismuth are two metals that do not fulfill this requirement. The silver concentration in sludge decreased during the last decade, however the last few years, it has leveled off.

Vi har valt att studera hur studie- och yrkesvägledare som arbetar på vägledningscentrum i Göteborg förhåller sig till gymnasieskolornas marknadsföring. Yrkesetiken för studie- och yrkesvägledarna är att de ska vara neutrala i sina samtal med eleverna. Gymnasieskolornas marknadsföring fokuserar inte enbart på eleverna utan även på studie- och yrkesvägledarna. Vi vill i vårt arbete se hur studie- och yrkesvägledarna förhåller sig till de etiska riktlinjerna om att vara neutral i sin vägledning med eleverna när gymnasieskolornas marknadsföring även riktas till dem. Vår frågeställning är: ? Vad anser studie- och yrkesvägledare om marknadsföringen? ? Hur upplever studie- och yrkesvägledare marknadsföringen och dess effekter? ? Hur förhåller sig studie- och yrkesvägledare till marknadsföringen mot eleverna? Vi har valt att genomföra en kvalitativ intervjustudie med nio studie- och yrkesvägledare.

Abstract   The actions of Sweden during the second world war has been richly discussed over the years. Sweden declared itself neutral in the war between the great powers but did not manage to maintain its neutrality. The nature of neutrality has often been discussed; whether it is of a idealistic or more pragmatic nature. Realism, a theory of international relations, would argue that it is of a more pragmatic nature, hence these two are in opposition. Realism also takes credit in claiming to explain how and why a state chooses to act in a situation. The aim of this essay was to, by examining specific decisions made by the swedish government during the Second World War, come to a conclusion whether or not Sweden?s proclaimed neutrality was of idealistic or pragmatic nature, and thereby possibly coming to a conclusion about neutrality in large.It was also to examine the worth of realism as an explanatory theory by applying it to this specific case; to examine its validity.The study was conducted using a qualitative method; presenting empiric facts and then by using a decision model interpreting the actions and results from a realist perspective. The study concludes that realism has explanatory power, although not a complete one.
