As the volumes are entering the world of computer graphics the pure volume visualisation becomes a more important tool in for example research and medical applications. But the advance in haptics --- force feedback from the computer --- is behind. In volume haptics no equal to the proxy method so popular in surface haptics has yet emerged. Some implementations of volume haptics even use surfaces as intermediate representations so that surface haptics can be used.The intention of this work was to create natural feeling haptic feedback from volumetric density data using pure volume haptics. The haptic algorithm would be implemented in Reachin API for the Reachin Desktop Display, together with other parts to build up a usable volume visualisation environment.To achieve the feeling of stiffness and friction dependent on tissue type, a proxy based method was developed.

The break up of the family unit leads to new living arrangements and significant changes for children. This can be an extremely upsetting experience for a child, especially if the child is old enough to understand what is happening. New living arrangements can effect a childs fundamental sense of security as well as having consequences later on in life. The object of this research paper was to examine how a group of seven people (children from split families who are now adults), interpreted and described their childhood in relation to the living arrangements they grew up with after the breakdown of the family unit. The main question areas we have examined are: How have the interviewee's living arrangements during childhood affected their understanding of themselves today? In what way has the adult's present day lifestyle been influenced by the split up of the family that they grew up with - using their own words? How do the children from split families describe and interpret concepts such as family and marriage, based on their own experiences? Our research was conducted with the help of seven people from split families who are now adults and who experienced different types of split family arrangements as a child ? permanent residence with mother/father or alternate living with both parents.

I have studied the prevalence of playing-related pain in professional double bass players, teachers and students. This study is based on a questionnaire with 11 questions about double bass playing and pain.

The relationship between the pet and it's owner is a very important and interesting issue. Unfortunately there is not so much research on this and in addition to that Swedish veterinarian education does not put much emphasis on pet's role in society or their pattern of behaviour nor treatment. This thesis is based on an opinion poll that 20 dog owners and 20 cat owners contributed. The main purpose of the thesis was to compare the relationships that the pet (dog or cat) and its owner can have. The issues such as the pet owner's attitude to his/her pet, how the pet owner percieves and interprets the signals from the animal, and what they think about the natural behaviours and needs that their pets (might) have. The results show that dog- and cat owners are people who generally love animals, that they used to have even other animal species in the past, but when it comes to choice between a new dog or a new cat they choose the one that they previously have had and that they are used to. Most of a dog owners choose the dog to be their pet because of the company while the majority of a cat owners choose cat because cats are independent and they are used to cats.

Uppsatsen analyserar behovet av intern förändringskommunikation mellan ledning och medarbetare vid bildandet av kommunalförbundet Räddningstjänsten Syd. Vidare studeras också uppkomsten av brister i den interna kommunikationen och hur detta kan ligga till grund för medarbetarnas negativa attityd till förändringsarbetet. Studiens empiriska material är insamlat genom intervjuer med ledning, medarbetare samt mellanchefer. Uppsatsens huvudsakliga resultat är att organisationens hierarkiska struktur har en negativ påverkan på kommunikationen mellan medarbetare och ledning. The aim of this study was to describe and to analyze needs and social efforts concerning unaccompanied/separated asylum-seeking children. The responsibility for the reception of this target group was transferred on July 1, 2006 from the Swedish Migration Board to the municipalities that sign an agreement with the Swedish Migration Board. Eight qualitative interviews were carried out with representatives for transit-residents and assigned municipalities in Skåne. Our main questions were: How has the reception of unaccompanied/separated asylum-seeking children been planned, how do the municipalities and the transit-residents consider their needs and what is the level of qualifications and competence within the municipalities in order to work with unaccompanied/separated asylum-seeking children on the basis of social efforts? We chose to clarify our findings on the basis of the attachment theory, which is applicable during the critical emancipation phase that the vast majority of the unaccompanied/separated asylum-seeking children find themselves in.

Därför har vi valt att undersöka vilka omständigheter som ligger bakom och bidrar till att skilsmässor ständigt ökar i dag.Utgångspunkten för vår uppsats är vårt intresse för att förstå de ökade skilsmässorna. Vårt intresse ligger inte i första hand på effekterna av skilsmässor som till exempel på barn, ekonomiska eller emotionella konsekvenser, eftersom dessa inte ligger inom ramen för vårt arbete.

This study aimed to investigate and answer the fundamental values based on the common value basis for the government employees within an organization and how it perceived by employees. The new institutional theory was the framework for this qualitative study conducted with semi-structured interviews. Respondents were employees within the organization. Ethnographic qualitative methodology was the basis for our methodology and we used a thematic model of theme interpretation, communication and knowledge in our analysis.

The standard model concerning the relationship between perception and motility is linear and one-way. It depicts the flow between the two as moving from sensation to perception to representation to computation, and finally, to motility and action. According to this model, animal being is basically a bundle of reflexes. But what can correctly be considered a bundle of reflexes from a natural science point of view, doesn't necessarily have to be true. This conception does not take into consideration the more complex interactions between motility and perception that constitutes, or generates, animal and human beings.

Mer specifikt ämnar vi att försöka hitta spår av de teoribildningar som brukar benämnas defensiv och offensiv realism..

Studien belyser hur människor, som drabbades av stormen Gudrun i januari 2005, upplevde och handlade då de inte kunde nås av viktig kriskommunikation på grund av el- och teleavbrott. Syftet är att belysa dels de svårigheter som bristen på medier innebär för katastrofdrabbade människor i det svenska informationssamhället, dels hur deras kommunikationsmönster förändras för att tillfredställa det informationsbehov som finns.Arbetet är kvalitativt med intervjuer och observationer som huvudsakliga tekniker. Det empiriska underlaget består av intervjuer med åtta personer på den småländska glesbygden, som är ett område som drabbades av hårt av stormen. Olika kommunikationsmodeller, mediekategorier, begreppet informationssamhälle och användningsmodellen utgör mina metodologiska utgångspunkter.Materialet visar att utan fungerande medier, kände intervjupersonerna sig utsatta och avskärmade. Informationsbehovet efter stormen var stort och då medierna inte kunde fungera som kanal tog kriskommunikationen nya vägar och former.
