The new information society has revolutionised almost the entire world. But the new technique does not only bring good. That which was before only available on paper may today only be available on a computer system. This makes it possible to send data electronically. In the wrong hands that information can become a threat against the security of an individual, a company or even a Nation. The possibility to protect oneself against attacks from the outside becomes increasingly difficult.

In an effort to strengthen democracy in the union, the EU in 2005 took a new approach to communications policy to reach out to the citizens. The strategic document "Plan D for Democracy, Dialogue and Debate" was accompanied by two other documents, and the three of them were the core of this policy. Both democracy and communications work means at EU level a higher complexity than in the Nation-state arena. Objective of this study is to examine how the implementation of Plan D has turned out in a democracy renewal perspective. To achieve that answers are sought to questions concerning the goals of Plan D, how they are still present today, what happened in practice regarding the efforts that are highlighted, and how the substance of the activities can be judged from a democratic theory perspective.

The purpose of this study has been to examine the archival management at the 14 Student Nations in Uppsala. This may be relevant to study to extend the research in the field that Berndt Frediksson calls ?empirical archival science?. Another reason is that the Student Nations hold a unique position as organisations and their archivists holds a unique position from a professional point of view as they mostly consist of students without professional archivist training. I have mainly focused on why the archival management at the Nations looked as they did.

The globalisation of the world is believed by some to homogenise individuals from different National cultures. However, the values and norms of an individual are deeply rooted in their National culture and are therefore difficult to change. Since birth these values and norms are learnt through interaction with others within a specific National culture. The differences in values of a National culture are shown in the cornerstones of the Nation. These cornerstones are language, aesthetics, religion and social institutions.

Hence the material consists mainly of content from the community www.communityofsweden.com and the webpage www.visitsweden.com. In addition, the study is also based on an interview with VisitSwedens communitydriver Tommy Sollén.Main results: Members of CommunityOfSweden help VisitSweden to promote Sweden. This is possible because the community posting format and the participatory culture within the community are well designed and planned by VisitSweden, even though the organisation was not completely sure about the outcome.

I takt med att Försvarsmakten ökar sitt interNationella engagemang ökar också riskerna för att svensk personal ska bli isolerad, tillfångatagen eller kidnappad. Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka om svensk undsättningsförmåga är tillräcklig för de insatser som Försvarsmakten genomför interNationellt.Det kan konstateras att flera faktorer bidrar till ett behov av en undsättningsförmåga. Försvarsmakten har en moralisk skyldighet mot sin personal att göra allt för att se till att de kommer hem ifall något skulle hända dem. Försvarsmakten har heller inte råd att få personal kidnappad då det genom media och hemmaopinion kan ge ett högt tryck på politiker vilket i sin tur kan leda till att Försvarsmakten tvingas dra sig ur en insats. Förvarsmakten måste även kunna ansvara för sig själv och inte förlita sig på att en annan Nation ska lösa problemet när situationen inte kan hanteras.

Ever since the Nation-state has existed identity has been a big deal, it is told that identity is a tool needed to be able to receive consensus from the people concerned on a certain matter. As the European Union is continuously shaped and reshaped due to changing geographical borders, as a consequence of new member-states the aim to integrate the Union equally across its surface has not been an easy task to solve. A lack of trust from the inhabitants in the European Union is a fact, and therefore the main duty of the Union has become to rebuild the trust from beginning to end, creating a Union which easily can be identified with. Since the process of National identity relies upon an excluding-including process and the use of the Other, the identification process on an European level has indeed had fierce effects on the inhabitants within and outside the Union.One of many things that this essay aims at showing is how mythmaking has become a way used by the elite in the Union to integrate a European identity, the myths refer back to a Golden Age when Europe was prosperous and in bloom. Among other tools used to integrate and create a European identity we find such as; unity in diversity, a cultural inheritance based on common denominators such as Christianity and Latin traditions, symbols and a European citizenship.

Denna intervju- och textanalysstudie undersöker tankar om begreppet kultur hos fransklärare samt framställningen av begreppet kultur i kursplanen i moderna språk från 2011 ur Läroplan för grundskolan, förskoleklass och fritidshemmet (Lgr 11). Dessa två analyser jämförs sedan sinsemellan och med den analys som Tornberg (2000) har gjort av kursplanen för moderna språk från 2000 i anslutning till Läroplanen för det obligatoriska skolväsendet, förskoleklassen och fritidshemmet (Lpo 94). Studien utgår från Tornbergs tre kulturperspektiv, som används som idealtyper vid analysen av lärarintervjuerna och vid analysen av kursplanen 2011: ett fullbordat faktum, en kompetens för framtiden och ett möte i öppet landskap.Det huvudsakliga resultatet är att ett fullbordat faktum och en kompetens för framtiden dominerar i de båda kursplanerna. Kursplanerna skiljer sig dock åt då kursplanen 2000 har en Nationalromantisk uppfattning, medan kursplanen 2011 har en mer varierad syn där Nation och kultur inte nödvändigtvis måste höra samman. Fransklärarna tycks uppdelade i tre grupper.

Intentionen med denna studie är att studera på vilket sätt Skolverket problematiserar modersmålsstödet och mo-dersmålsundervisningen i den svenska skolan. Med diskursanalys som grundläggande metodologisk och teoretiska utgångspunkten har avsikten varit att genom skolverkets rapport Flera språk fler möjligheter (2002), belysa moders-målsstödets situation, dess intentioner, samt också dess konsekvenser för såväl individen som samhället. Därtill är syftet att beröra eventuella ideologiska föreställningar som framkommer, såväl Skolverkets som andra aktörer som har del i rapporten. Av analysen har det bland annat framkommit att modersmålsundervisningen befinner sig i ett såväl rumsligt tidsmässigt utanförskap i förhållande till skolans övriga reguljära undervisningsmiljö. Enligt skolverket bör det ligga i skolans intresse att i praktiken införliva och integrera modersmålsundervisningen, dels för att skapa bättre förutsättningar för modersmålsstödet som undervisningsmetod, men också för att på detta sätt skapa en all-män förståelse för modersmålsundervisningens roll i ett pluralistiskt och demokratiskt samhälle.

This bachelor thesis is a study in the analysis of paintings with focus on the technical exami-Nation within the framework of ATSR. ATSR is a methodology based on an interdisciplinary study with the aim of putting the object in its context.The study is based on questions concerning which information the object can give, how we access this information and how it can be put in a larger context. My thesis contains three major parts. First a short overview of methods of analysis used in this form of investigation is presented. This is followed by two case studies which exemplify the technical investigation.

There are changes in Sweden's foreign policy, and Sweden is no longer a non-aligned and neutral Nation. Sweden has expressed a willingness to actively participate in creating peace and stability in the world by giving and receiving military assistance in case of war, crisis or disaster. This is described as complete turnaround in Swedish policy compared to the neutrality and non-alignment during the Cold war.However new research shows that defence cooperation is not new in the Nordic region. Sweden cooperated secretly with Denmark and Norway, two NATO countries, about co-operative defence of Scandinavia during the Cold War.Is our historical picture wrong and what we perceive as new and revolutionized not particularly new? Is today's open Nordic defence cooperation a continuation of what was done in secret during the Cold War? The essay investigates and compares two different Swedish defence cooperation?s where one was previously secret and the other is open.

The democratic conditions in National states have change radically at the same time as the society has changed. Because of social and economic globalization processes, the states and government has lost power for the benefit of transNational and global institutions. That affects the democracy since the Nation state earlier defined the domain of citizenship. At the same time, citizens? confidence towards political parties and politicians has gone down.

Sverige är ett land som interNationellt sett länge förknippats med fred, och framförallt med frihet. En tolerant Nation, där just denna beryktade tolerans i nuläget utsatts för ifrågasättande. Anledningen till detta är fallet med pastor Åke Green. Denne har i en predikan, som sedermera publicerades i Borgholms lokaltidning, Ölandsbladet, uttalat sig kränkande mot homosexuella och deras livsföring. Följden av detta blev väckande av allmänt åtal enligt den nya tilläggsbestämmelsen i Brottsbalken 16 kapitlet, 8 paragrafen om förbud mot hets mot homosexuella.

The first law in Sweden containing an act of legal deposit is from 1661. Since then the printing-houses are supposed to deliver all printed material to the Royal Library and other recipient libraries. Today, more and more information is solely published electronically. This material is not yet included in the law of legal deposit. In a similar way as our printed cultural heritage is saved for posterity our electronic cultural heritage has to be saved.

The Veiled Party: A Discourse Analysis of Sweden Democratic Texts aims to further the understanding of the underlying ideology of the Sweden Democratic party, by revealing whether or not there is any ideological content that include race, racialization, and racism in the party?s political texts. The study offers a background description of the discursive change in the social and political climate of debate in Sweden, which opened a policy window for xenophobic agenda setting. In addition, the study delivers a presentation of the public debate regarding the Sweden Democrats, as well as statements by party representatives.Through a social constructionist and discourse analytic framework, the study aims at understanding how the application of racial ideas are done and mapped. The core of the theoretical framework is a critical race and whiteness theoretical approach.
