This paper addresses the need to review the modern presentation of textile archaeology in museums. It is time to look at textiles in archaeology with new eyes. The reality behind archaeological textilestudy is holistic, embracing many different aspects of society. The presentation of textiles has in my opinion become old-fashioned. I will show in my paper that Jonathan Adams? `seven constraints´ model, developed for research on ancient ships, can also be applied to textile research.

Marknadsföring utgör inte någon särskiljande effekt idag och konsumenter blir visuellt överstimulerade av alla olika reklambudskap. På grund av detta måste företag numera skapa en djupare och personligare kontakt för att nå ut till sina kunder. Genom att använda sig av emotionella inslag i en produkt gör det att kunden uppfattar produkten mer som en upplevelse istället för enbart dess funktion. Skapandet av en upplevelse sker genom att sätta människans fem sinnen i centrum. Genom att använda sig av flera sinnen kan även ett mervärde skapas, vilket gör att företag inte längre enbart kan koncentrera sig på kärnprodukten.

This study concerns a selection of prehistoric metal objects of animalistic design, published at the internet site of the Swedish Statens Historiska Museum. It seeks to give an impression of the design elements used, and to find likely models for the motifs among live animals. The method used is a qualitative hermenuetic comparative study of objects, where the distinct significant design elements are being identified and interpretated. Several significant design elements are identified, and some are interpretated as representing certain animals. The amalgamation of differentiating design elements in some objects however, leads to interpretations of compound animal motifs, where some motifs are considered ambiguous and some are rendered uninterpretated.

This paper discusses the feeling of insecurity in educational exhibitions. The study analyzes one exhibition at the museum ?Nordiska Museet? in Stockholm, and strives to answer how the question of spatial factors can influence the feeling of insecurity, and thereby also the information process.The following questions have been addressed: Can we speak of a spatial allocation problem of exhibitions that contain much information? What is the relationship between the exhibition's intention and visitors conduct A model has been designed with influence from wayfinding where the exhibition is divided into basic parts, which allows a detailed study of the exhibition, and of how the parts relate to each other. The research contains spatial analyze, observations as well as interviews.The conclusion is that we, in the scientifically investigated exhibition, can speak of a spatial allocation problem when the information seems to be an overload for the visitor..

SammanfattningMuseer har till uppgift att dokumentera, forska och samla in människans och naturens lämningar för att berika kulturarvet och bidra med ny kunskap. Frågan är vad det är för kunskap som förmedlas och vad det är som väljs att ta med i kulturarvet. Denna uppsats syftar till att lyfta fram diskussionen kring huruvida kulturarvet och kunskapsförmedlingen är könsneutral och hur den dolda genuskonstruktionen speglas i utställningarna samt att studera hur ett genusperspektiv används och integreras på Tekniska Museet i Stockholm och Malmö Museer. Som empiriskt underlag ligger kvalitativa intervjuer med sammanlagt 8 representanter från båda museerna. Den teoretiska basen består av teorier kring kultur, kulturarv och genus.

The purpose of this two years master´s thesis in Archive, Library and Information Museum science is to examine the ideas about children and childhood which have an influence on the storytime at public libraries. The material on which this thesis is based, is a methodbook which is aimed to develop the storytimes and those picture books that are recommend in the methodbook. The theoretical points of departure are discourse analysis and childhood sociology. The concepts of being and becoming are frequently used when analyzing the methodbook. Other theoretical points of departure are the combination of narratologi, semiotics and hermeneutics, which are also used when analyzing the picture books.The result indicates that the storytime, recommended in the methodbook, is based on the idea of a timeless culture of childhood - where the "modern child" including the media used today - is left out. Concepts as nostalgia and pedagogy are tightly connected.

Examensarbetets syfte är att ge ett arkitektoniskt förslag på hur en tillbyggnad till Nationalmuseum kan omformulera hur vi utifrån dagens kontext förhåller oss till Nationalmuseum som byggnad samt kringliggande kulturhistoriska byggnader. Tyngdpunkten har lagts på teoretiska undersökningar där bland annat frågor kring den historiska återupplevelsen som fenomen; kulturell och historisk kontext samt betraktande har hanterats. Även fältstudier har genomförts och presenterats där kontemporära tillbyggnader och ombyggnader som gjorts i byggnader från 1800-talets mitt till 1900-talets början undersökts ifråga om gestaltning och förhållning till orginalbyggnaden. Undersökningarna har lett fram till ett förhållningssätt om tydlighet och transparens kring vad som är nytt och vad som historiskt, vilket omsatts i det arkitektoniska förslaget..

Det huvudsakliga syftet med projektet är att belysa utställningen och de strukturer som densamma innefattar. Specifikt för detta projekt är att jag har valt att titta på utställningarna på kulturcentret Astrid Lindgrens Näs. Metoden för projektet innebär att blanda empiri med teori vilket resulterat i att jag dels besökt Astrid Lindgrens Näs samt arbetat med teori som beskriver förhållandet mellan besökare och museum, författare och författarskap. Radioverkets syfte är ett ge en viss insikt i hur arbetet på museet genomförs, på ett praktiskt plan. Projektet visar att konventionerna i museet är närvarande och vad som bibehåller dem är rädslan för att besökarna skall missförstå.

Uppsatsen tar upp museipedagogik på Statens Museum for Kunst i Köpenhamn. Eftersom det är ett konstmuseum handlar pedagogiken om konstpedagogik men också om pedagogik som står i relation till skolan. De pedagoger som tas upp är de som varit speciellt inflytelserika för 1900-talets skola och undervisning. Pedagoger som Piaget, Vygotskij, Dewey och Klafki nämns såsom förebilder även till museipedagogiken. Undersökningens huvudsakliga material är samlat genom en intervju och några samtal samt från ett antal observationer av visningar för barn.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka fyra konstpedagogers syn på konst­pedagogik och samtidskonst. Med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer vill jag undersöka eventuella skillnader i arbetet med samtidskonst jämfört med modernistisk konst. I bakgrunden presenteras främst litteratur om samtidskonst och modernistisk konst samt konst­pedagogik. Resultatdelen sammanfattar intervjuerna med konstpedagogerna. I diskus­sionen analyseras resultatet och kopplas till bakgrunden.

In recent years the arts institutions? role in society have changed. With increased demands on attracting greater number of visitors they use concepts from corporate marketing to communicate with greater success. Theories from museum studies show that the importance of rendering authenticity now has become the new imperative in order to retain the status of a reputable institution. This thesis aims to discuss the development of a new visual identity for the public and non-profit institution Malmö konsthall.

The purpose of this essay is to illustrate how an organisation with several different cultural activities, such as a regional museum, works with anemphasis on participation. The essay focuses on Kulturparken Småland AB, which encourages the public to be more involved in its activities. Aqualitative approach is used, including nine interviews with employees at theorganisation. A number of theories form the basis of this study: institutionaltheory, which focuses on the context of the organisation, Bourdieu?s theoriesof different capital and Abbott?s theory regarding professionals.

Commissioned for this report is Ramboll, Bridge and Tunnel Unit in Stockholm. Theidea throughout the work has been to primarily help bridge designers compilingadvice and instructions on how fatigue verification for railway bridges in reinforcedconcrete shall be performed under the new rules, the Eurocodes.After the introduction of the Eurocodes in 2011 has major problems emerged amongdesigners around Sweden. In some areas, it differs in the calculation rules comparedwith rules from the Swedish Transport Administration and the National Board ofHousing, Building and Planning calculation. Fatigue verification is one area where thenew calculation rules are different from the past.A large part of the report has been to interpret and find the relevant information inthe Eurocodes concerning fatigue. When questions or doubts have surfaced, this hasbeen discussed with Elisabeth Helsing at the Swedish Transport Administration andbridge designers at Ramboll.The result is a report where the structure is organized in the way that the bridgedesigners can move from cover to cover and realize that fatigue verification in realityfollows the same order as the report's sections.

Vid Västerbottens museum finns ett antal byggnader som är flyttade från olika delar av Västerbotten för att visa hur livet vid en gård på 1800-tals såg ut. Idag kallställs husen under vinterhalvåret då de saknar uppvärmningssystem. Museet önskar installera ett värmesystem i ett av husen, Wallmarksgården byggd år 1736, för att möjliggöra användande av huset under den kalla delen av året. Värmesystemet skall i så liten utsträckning som möjligt påverka husets kulturhistoriska värden.Tre olika uppvärmningssystem; mobil pelletskamin, aerotemper och byggfläktar har jämförts under fem olika driftförhållanden. De olika driftförhållandena beskrivs i fall A-E, tre av fallen har en konstant inomhustemperatur och två har varierande temperatur med en grundtemperatur på 0 °C respektive 10 °C och värms två dagar per vecka till 20 °C.

I examine how relationships between people and objects are created and continues through contiguity every time one use or touch an object and through participation through use and memories. The aim is to continue a relationship and to keep a communication alive with people beyond time and space, then, now and henceforth. I take advantage of and transform the traces in an object that belonged to someone. Parallel I create new space for bodies to put their mark for the first time. I compare my work with the Nordic Museum's task to preserve the present for the future.
