Companies become more and more aware of the added values of the packaging. A well chosen and developed packaging can reduce the costs for the companies through reduced costs for transports, reduced quantity of waste and discards and increased goodwill for example. The companies? costs for salaries can also be reduced due to the increased packaging handling efficiency and the reduced costs for sick leave, reduced work capacity and rehabilitation etc. that can arise when handling poorly developed products and packaging.

The democratic conditions in national states have change radically at the same time as the society has changed. Because of social and economic globalization processes, the states and government has lost power for the benefit of transnational and global institutions. That affects the democracy since the nation state earlier defined the domain of citizenship. At the same time, citizens? confidence towards political parties and politicians has gone down.

The aim of this thesis was to look closer into the shelf arrangement and user behavior in a fiction collection with the municipal library in Lund as an example. The purpose was to investigate to what extent the shelf arrangement in this library is adapted to the behavior of users when it comes to searching for and choosing fiction. The study is mainly focused on the division between Hc- and Hce-classified books (Swedish fiction and fiction translated into Swedish), the special shelving of the publications of the last five years, and the genre categorization. The user behavior is primarily examined from the perspective of three search strategies; looking for a specific author or title, browsing within a genre or browsing without having a specific genre in mind. The study also deals with within which genres of fiction the users are searching and if they are looking for a book that is translated or not, new or older.

The voluntary none-financial sustainability report has become a trend within accounting. The environmental issues used to be driven by activists only, but lately it has moved in to the general agenda in many companies. Investors are starting to put more attention to the sustainability reporting as it is considered to add value to the company. There are several standard guidelines to be used when producing a sustainability report, one example is the GRI´s Guidelines that takes the following three dimensions in consideration: economy, environment and social. This Guideline is from an international perspective considered to be of good accounting practice (Ljungdahl 2008).

The aim with this study was to examine what it is that govern the way that municipalities develop the non-institutional care for youth. An extensive development of non-institutional care for children is a visible trend in municipal social service and probable reasons for this development are, among other things, research that show inadequate results of the institution care and economy. Our main questions at issue were how the municipalities argue the priorities that have been done within their youth care services with regard to the non-institutional care and how they reason considering this? Furthermore we asked why the municipalities have chosen to develop their non-institutional care for youth the way they have and on what grounds they make their choices? This study consists of eight qualitative interviews with politicians and employees in four different municipals along with analysis of relevant documents. We have found that what governs the way that municipalities develop the non-institutional care for youth has to do with that the municipalities found it vital to find alternative solutions to the expensive and ineffective institutional care, that they comprehend that the quality of non-institutional care are higher then of the institutional care and that the non- institutional care is seen as more effective with regards to economic results and achieved treatment results.

Today´s debate in farming is being focused on tourism, outdoor life and hobbies in the rural areas. This is of interest also for the general public as a way of counteracting the depopulation of the rural areas. Within the last years, the farming has become more technically advanced and hence efficient. This has led to increased production volumes and wider selection of products with lower margins for the farmer as a consequence. When the profitability is reduced, the farmer is faced with the choice of either increasing efficiency or diversification of the business.

Between 1965 and 1974, the Swedish Parliament decided to build one million dwellings, called Million Program. The million program buildings were erected with new, untried design solutions, in a short range of time, and at low cost. The residential buildings from that time are now greatly in need of renovation. This master thesis aim to create a web based GIS application with information onlime spreading and the situation concerning acidification in the county of Kronoberg, Sweden.The web based GIS application will be used by the county administrations in Kronoberg toinform the public and the municipal authorities of current counteracting acidification activity.This report includes documentation on acidifying processes and liming activities, which arepublicised together with the web based GIS application. The web based GIS application wascreated with ArcIMS, a new program in the ESRI family of GIS programs. The programincludes a guided structure, to development of everything from a map to a complete GISapplication, including mapservice and websites.

This thesis has two purposes: (1) to analyze the emptiness in Blodbok by Christine Falkenland, and (2) to analyze my own reading of the same book. I have chosen to focus on how emptiness is expressed through the body, the language and the place in Blodbok, because of the deep impact these seem to have on the emptiness. AimThe aim has been to describe the goals and the pedagogic model concerning physical education in the Waldorfschool. Further purpose was to describe what the teachers focus on in there teaching roll about physical education. We have also chosen to give a picture of what other documents says about the teaching roll in booth the Waldorfschool and in the traditional municipal pedagogics. The Waldorfschool runs under Lpo 94 but they can also as other schools adapt and formulate there own curriculum after there pedagogic. The purpose of this essay is to investigate in an explorative way how New Public Management (NPM) views contracting and the role of the internal customer in contracting.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka på vilket sätt sångpedagoger i kommunala kultur- och musikskolor upplever att de arbetar med folklig sång, samt hur de ser på ämnet vad gäller sångsätt och material. Till studien har data samlats in genom telefonintervjuer med tretton sångpedagoger, verksamma vid åtta kultur- och musikskolor i geografiskt spridda kommuner i Sverige. Intervjuformen var strukturerad kvalitativ intervju med öppna följdfrågor. Materialet har sedan analyserats utifrån ett sociokulturellt perspektiv. Resultatet visar att endast ett fåtal av informanterna anser att folklig sång förekommer i deras undervisning. De som inte undervisar i folklig sång anger svagt elevintresse och brist på egna kunskaper i folklig sång som skäl.

Feromoner är substanser som används vid kemisk kommunikation mellan individer av samma art. Hos häst har ännu inga feromoner identifierats men studier gjorda i Litauen tyder på att kresoler, ämnen som bildas i tarmen vid nedbrytning av bland annat aminosyror och som utsöndras via urin och avföring, kan ha feromon effekt hos häst.Syftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka förekomsten av kresoler och andra substanser i urin och brunstsekret från ston i östrus med hänsyn till variation mellan dagar i brunst och mellan provmaterial.Prover samlades in från 8 ston under 10 brunster och vid tre tillfällen från ston i diöstrus. Uppsamling av flyktiga substanser från urin- och sekretproverna gjordes med ?Solid Phase Micro Extraction? (SPME). För separering och identifiering av substanserna användes gaskromatografi och masspektrometri.

Avfallslagstiftningen innebär hanteringsbegränsningar och myndighetskontroll i syfte att motverka de miljörisker som avfallet innebär. Efter ett återvinningsförfarande kan den börda som avfallslagstiftningen innebär upplevas tung för återvinningsbranschen att bära i förhållande till de risker som de återvunna materialen utgör. Därutöver anses avfallsstämpeln i sig ha en hämmande inverkan på användandet av återvunnet material då den resulterar i negativa associationer. Det aktualiserar frågan kring när avfall juridiskt sett ska upphöra att vara avfall (avklassificering av avfall). Frågan kring avklassificering av avfall har under lång tid varit oreglerad inom EU och de få riktlinjer som funnits har härrört från ofullständig EG-rättslig praxis.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyse the development of the public library in the district of Österåker during a period of 1958-1983. The main goals have been to identify the crucial events in the history of the library within their historical context and to analyse the factors that have been important for the development: financing, location, staffing, stock of books, book-lending level and different activities for children, youngsters and adults. The consideration has been taken to reasons and consequences of these events. The hermeneutic interpretation model of interaction between parts and wholes, between reasons and results is the basic method in this research which leans mainly upon local archives in Österåker. The public library in Österåker was established in 1952 as a fusion of previously existing small libraries: the parish library in Östra Ryd, the Labour Movement?s library and the temperance movement?s library.
