The purpose with this essay is to compare two classes in an international school during their mathematic lesson. The international school offers education to their pupils in two languages; in Swedish and in English. Through this study I want to find out how teachers are working with language and communication during school hours. I will compare the work of two teachers and two classes to find out the differences and similarities between their work methods concerning language and communication during mathematic lessons.The main questions for the essay:How do the teachers work with language and communication in this school during the mathematic lessons?What similarities and differences are there between the two teachers in matter of methods of working with language and communication during the mathematic lessons?The research is based on interviews with the teachers and also on observations in the classroom during mathematic lessons.

The education in Swedish schools today should be for all children. This means that even if a pupil has reading and writing disabilities the education should be in the classroom with the rest of the pupils. The education should include every one.The aim of my study was to investigate the education with pupils that have reading and writing disabilities. I wanted to get a deeper knowledge about working methods that are used for pupils with these problems.In my study I have used qualitative research methods. I have used group interviews and observational studies.

I have used my cellphone for recording the interviews so that all content from the informers are accurate. My theoretical points concerns on having strict rules both inside and outside the classroom.

Detta examensarbetes syfte är att klarlägga de formella krav som ställs på lärares klassrumsledarskap, att belysa sådana faktorer som lärare själva kan påverka för att uppnå ett gott ledarskap i klassrumssituationen samt att diskutera huruvida dessa krav och faktorer är förenliga med varandra. Ett ramfaktorteoretiskt resonemang utgör teoretisk grund för vad lärare kan påverka i sitt ledarskap och en teoretisk tolkning av begreppet classroom management utgör definition av begreppet klassrumsledarskap. Examensarbetet är en textbaserad, komparativ undersökning, utförd med kvalitativ, hermeneutisk metod. Efter en inledande litteraturgranskning har en kvalitativ innehållsanalys av läroplanstexter genomförts för att klarlägga styrdokumentens krav på lärares klassrumsledarskap. En forskningsöversikt beträffande begreppet klassrumsledarskap har genomförts med målsättningen att åstadkomma allmängiltiga generalisationer och söka praktiska tillämpningar inom området.

This essay is about power in the classroom. It is about the power dimension of the student-teacher relationships that arise in that space. The overall aim has been to investigate which categories are fruitful in a power analysis of these relationships. My aim has therefore been to develop power categories and to use them to identify and to categorise cases of power interaction that take place between those particular actors in that particular setting.In order to gather material for my study I have both read literature that approaches the study of the student-teacher relationships from a power perspective and done a series of observations in a high school.My theoretical frame comprises a concept of power and a series of power categories. These categories include strength, authority, inducement, coercion, violence, resistance as well as to possess power, to have power, to exert power, the scope of power and the base of power.

The Swedish society has gone through a radical change. From being a monoculture society it has developed into a multicultural society representing a mixture of people from all around the world. This change has had a significant impact on both the Swedish school system and the teacher?s role. Therefore a subsequent ambition for a multicultural school would be to recognize this diversity and establish guidelines for how to meet each individual students need.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur lärare kan utveckla sin undervisning med hjälp av digitala hjälpmedel och ta del av andra lärares erfarenheter med att arbeta med sådana hjälpmedel i slöjd, hem- och konsumentkunskap. Frågorna var; hur bidrar digitala hjälpmedel till att förbättra undervisningen i slöjden; Vilka för- och nackdelar upplever lärare av att arbeta med digitala verktyg; Hur väljer estetiska ämneslärare att kommunicera via nätbaserade kommunikationstjänster och vilka positiva, negativa konsekvenser har det kommunikationsvalet fört med sig? Tre olika metoder har använts för att samla in data till studien, deltagande observationer på en grundskola, aktioner för att designa undervisningen med digitala verktyg och intervjuer med lärare inom estetämnen. Enligt lärarna visade det sig att mer digitala redskap i undervisningen ökar elevers motivation. Digitala verktyg som mobiltelefoner distraherar elever dock, det bör finnas tydliga regler för dess användning.

In a Swedish classroom today there will be students with different ethnicities, world views and religious beliefs.  The students will be taught religion through a non-denominational education, where as a teacher you are meant to be objective, open-minded and fair in the representation of different traditions. This representation is colored by the outsider-perspective and the students then learn about religion from a party which is not involved in the religion being taught. Med detta examensarbete vill vi undersöka hur pojkar i gymnasieåldern använder sociala medier. Syftet med vårt arbete är att bidra med kunskap om deras användning av sociala medier, särskilt utifrån skolan. För att få svar på våra frågor har vi genomfört tio kvalitativa intervjuer med elever vid Samhällsprogrammet/medieinriktning och Individuella programmet. Elevernas svar och relevant litteratur utgör grunden för vårt examensarbete. Vi har kommit fram till att elevernas användning av sociala medier under skoldagen ser mycket olika ut och att detta beror främst på pojkarnas tillgång till it-teknik. I undersökningen har den ena skolans elever tillgång till egen dator genom ett så kallat en-till-en koncept, vilket gör att de är mer aktiva på nätet.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of an intervention that focuses on phonics, decoding, reading speed and phonological awareness for 8-9 year old children in reading difficulties. Participants were selected on the basis of screening test results in grade one (decoding and reading comprehension). The participants were divided into two groups, an intervention group (A1, n=10 children) and a control group (A2, n=10). A1 received 30 minutes of intense reading instruction every day for six weeks from special educational needs teachers on top of their usual classroom based reading instruction. The control group received only their usual classroom-based reading instruction.

Med hjälp av intervjuer av sex pedagoger på en mångkulturell skola i Malmö har jag undersökt synen på ämnet svenska som andraspråk. Jag har med hjälp av dessa sex personer haft ambitionen att skapa en bild av hur man arbetar med svenska som andraspråk på en skola. En bidragande faktor till min undersökning är det ökande antalet barn med annat modersmål än svenska som uppstått i mitt undersökningsområde. Som utgångspunkt har jag använt mig av Skolverkets lägesbedömning 2005, där anmärkningar finns angående brister i hur undervisningen i svenska som andraspråk bedrivs..
