Syftet med studien var att belysa hur motivation på arbetsplatsen kan betraktas från ett inre och yttre perspektiv, med utgångspunkt från ett antal specifika faktorer såsom samhörighet, kompetens, autonomi och kontroll i tillvaron. 126 respondenter, 99 kvinnor och 27 män besvarade en enkät som bestod av demografiska frågor, frågor kring chefens stöttande av autonomi, frågor om samhörighet, kompetens och arbetsmotivation samt ett testbatteri bestående av IMI scale, Work Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation Scale och Locus of Control. Studiens resultat visar att chefens stöttande av autonomi påverkade de anställdas inre arbetsmotivation positivt. Studien visar även på att det finns ett svagt samband mellan inre arbetsmotivation och tillfredsställelsen av de anställdas behov av autonomi och samhörighetAbstractThe purpose of this study was to see how work place motivation can be seen from an intrinsic and extrinsic perspective, with starting point from specific factors such as relatedness, competence, autonomy and control. Belöningssystem används flitigt i arbetslivet men forskningen kring dess effekter på anställda ha varit snål. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur ekonomisk belöning uppfattas av fastighetsmäklare samt vilken effekt det kan ha på deras motivation, prestation och lojalitet gentemot företaget. Sex stycken kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes med fastighetsmäklare från olika lokalkontor i stockholmsområdet. Tematisk analys gjordes med teoretisk grund i Cognitive Evaluation Theory (CET) samt Self-Determination Theory (SDT). CET utgår ifrån att människor bedömer händelser utifrån en kontrollerande och en informerande aspekt medan SDT handlar om hur motivation kan vara mer eller mindre externt reglerad.

In this thesis I have used post-colonial theory to analyze the Uyghurs, a Muslim minority group located in Xinjiang province in the Northwest of China, and their identity shaping process in relation to the dominating Han Chinese. I have analyzed the possibilities to use the power perspectives in post-colonial theory, especially Edward Said's Orientalism and the creation of the Other in a new context, where the main focus is on the Uyghurs through the eyes of Han Chinese. I have argued that Han Chinese, with colonial tendencies, have created two generalizing pictures of the Uyghurs; one romantic picture to use as an exotic tourist attraction and one threatening picture that portray Uyghurs as Islamic terrorists to win support in international politics. The thesis is a qualitative single case study with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding for the Uyghurs as well as examine possibilities of widening the analyze areas for post-colonialism. My conclusion is that the power perspectives in post-colonial theory are usable implements also for non-western contexts and in this case function as a way to understand the identity shaping process for the Uyghurs and their relation to Han Chinese..

The aim of this master thesis is to examine research perspectives and a selection ofmanagers? views on the concept of work motivation. With an exploratory approach,based on a literature review and interviews these views are examined and compared inrelation to a theoretical framework. This theoretical framework consists of three keyconcepts, the individual, the context and the regulation of work motivation. Theliterature review reveals two research perspectives, a classic economic perspectivebased on Principal?Agent Theory and a more up to date social psychologicalperspective based on Self-Determination Theory.

The thesis explores what is meant by multiculturalism in today's Sweden based on burial grounds and funerals in a minor municipality. This is done through an ethnographic case study of the municipality of Vara. The study aims to investigate how multiculturalism looks and is responded to. The study maps which aspects are placed on multiculturalism in a minor municipality and which adaptations and compromises are highlighted. This is done within the framework of theories concerning multiculturalism and social identity, and the result of the empirical case study is presented by applying the theories to the material. From burial places and funerals, social collective and individual identities are analysed based on the social categories of religion/faith/secularity and place belonging, based on the perspectives of rituals and traditions as well as the location of the grave. The study finds that there are several aspects of multiculture in the burial grounds, as multiculture not only includes cultural influences from immigrants but also the different preferences of the local villages, in combination with the development of society, and Sweden in general.

Fysisk aktivitet är en faktor som bidrar till ökad hälsa och välbefinnande. Trots det så hänvisar nationell statistik till att andelen inaktiva svenskar verkar vara bestående. Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka eventuella skillnader och samband i motivation till fysisk aktivitet utifrån kön, ålder och aktivitetsnivå samt upplevda barriärer och handlingsstrategier. Data samlades in från träningsanläggningar och arbetsplatser i Halmstads kommun via forskningsadministrerade frågeformulär. Frågeformuläret innefattade de teoribaserade formulären IPAQ, MTUAM, BREQ-2 och GSE.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how homosexuality is portrayed in young- adult novels. I use books published in Sweden from 1977- 2003. Three of the books have female main characters and the other three have male main characters. My purpose is therefore to compare the different results between the sexes.I will examine and discuss the homosexuality in the novels with focus on the homosexual identity of the young characters and how it is formed. I relate the results to a queer discussion about identity.

Syftet med studien var att utforska och bidra med förståelse av vad som kan främja motivation och lärande för verkstadsarbetare med speciellt fokus på arbetets utformning. Studien har genomförts med en kvalitativ ansats och åtta verkstadsarbetare har intervjuats. Resultatet visade att arbetsrotation upplevdes kunna minska arbetsbelastningen hos individen och att arbetsrotation även kan skapa motivation och lärande när arbetssättet tillämpas. Det har även framkommit att det finns en viss risk att glömma delar i arbetsuppgifterna vid korta pass på de olika arbetsstationerna i verkstaden. Resultatet visade också att verkstadsarbetarna fick möjlighet att lära sig nya arbetsuppgifter och även bli befordrade.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the identity, competences and professional development of corporate librarians. I have done an empirical study based on semi structured interviews with 11 information professionals who were working at Astra Zeneca at the time of the re-organizations of the company in 2009 which ultimately led to the closing of the libraries. I have also examined the views on competences and professional development of librarians in general, both in Sweden and in Denmark. I have used Thomas Brante?s theories on profession types as well as Anders Ørom?s theories on librarian identities as my theoretical framework.

This Master's thesis aims to investigate librarians' identity construction through the study of their narratives about themselves and their lives. We want to understand in what way the education in Library- and Information science contributes to shape the students professional identity and how these identities then continue to be transformed when they enter their professional lives. We assert that this construction of identity takes place through socialisation. We start with the reference work because we think this is a central part of librarians' tasks. Our theoretical starting point is constructionism, we mean that professional identity is a social construction that continuously is formed and transformed.We interviewed six former students at Library- and Information science at Lund University.

A study about Masada as an Israeli national myth during the 20th century? by Sara Tibblin. This essay is about the Israeli national myth of Masada, a cliff in the Negev desert that was the setting of a collective suicide in 73 AD, at the end of the Jewish uprising against the Romans. This story has later been rediscovered and has during the 20th century become a national myth in Israel. This essay will examine how the national myth of Masada has been used in different contexts in Israel during the 20th century and which part it has played when it comes to the national identity of Israel. My findings have afterwards been explained with help of Eriksens theory regarding national myths from the book Historia, myth och identitet (History, myth and identity) (1996).   .

Uppsatsens syfte är att skapa förståelse för motivation inom bemanningsföretag. Detta gör vi genom att undersöka vilka faktorer som konsulter anser sig motiverade av och hur konsultchefer arbetar med motivation. Vi valde att inrikta oss på bemanningsbranschen då det är en kraftigt växande bransch där det råder speciella anställningsförhållanden. Då konsultchefer utgör den närmaste kopplingen för konsulterna till bemanningsföretaget har de en central roll i deras anställning. I och med att det ofta finns en distans mellan konsulter och konsultchefer tror vi att det finns särskilda förutsättningar som påverkar motivation i denna bransch.

Motivation är av stor vikt för att kunna lägga mycket tid och energi på sitt arbete. Syftet med den här studien var att se om de faktorer som leder till motivation för kvinnor och män är olika, och om det kan vara anledningen till att det finns fler män än kvinnor på högre positioner. Ämnet har undersökts med en kvalitativ ansats genom att en tio kvinnor och män intervjuats. Resultatet har analyserats genom en tematisk analys och visar att det finns skillnader mellan de faktorer som kvinnor och män upplever vara motiverande. When gender-related refugee claims was ratified in the Swedish asylum law the 31 of March this year (2006) it opened the door for women with this specific refugee status to receive asylum in Sweden. The aim of this thesis has been to investigate how these specific female refugees are represented and described in the asylum process. The focus has been the construction of identity concerning these women in the Officials discourse at the Immigration department. The theoretical framework has been a critical discourse analysis regarding the exercise of power and dominance connected to the construction of identity.An understanding of the women with gender-related refugee claims as the Others has been perceived through the Officials discourse. Female refugees which have been exposed to persecution that occur in our part of the world (rape, wife abuse, etc.) are treated differently and much more restrictive, compared to women exposed to so called culture specific oppression (e.g.

Motivationsforskningen i allmänhet och självbestämmandeteorin i synnerhet, pekar på vikten av inre motivation när det kommer till att predicera ett aktivt liv på lång sikt. Denna studie undersöker sambandet mellan elevers motivation till idrottslektioner och det stöd som finns i deras omgivning. Vidare undersöks om det finns något samband mellan upplevelsen av stöd från läraren och upplevt stöd från kamrater och föräldrar på fritiden. En enkätundersökning bland ett urval av Umeå kommuns niondeklassare genomfördes. Resultatet av regressionsanalysen visade på att upplevt lärarstöd jämfört med upplevt stöd på fritiden, har en större betydelse för elevers upplevelse av inre motivation.Resultatet visade även på ett medelstort samband mellan upplevelsen av stöd på fritiden och upplevt lärarstöd.
