Det här arbetet syftade till att undersöka om de skakningar och ryck som uppstår vid en dålig motion capture-inspelning, kan användas till fördel i skräcksammanhang och utveckla den skrämmande egenskapen hos en zombiekaraktär. Som bakgrund har undersökningen gått igenom litteratur kring Zombies, The uncanny valley, Das Unheimliche och deras förhållande till spel.Till det material som skapades till undersökningen genomfördes en motion capture-inspelning och sedan skapades tre stycken videoklipp föreställande en zombie. Datan ur inspelningen redigerades på tre olika sätt och varierade mängden ryckighet i zombiens rörelser. Undersökningen utfördes med intervjuer av både icke-skräckerfarana och skräckerfarna informanter.Resultatet visade att det klipp där skak och ryck tillförts uppfattades som mest läskigast av en majoritet av informanterna. Slutsatsen skulle däremot ha kunnat validerats i högre utsträckning med fler intervjuade informanter..

In this thesis I will propose and test a pipeline for creating in-game animations using motion capture technology, with the aim to export to a 3D game engine, such as UDK or similar. Even though there are already established pipelines for creating in-game animations in the game industry, they are not of public knowledge and dissemination of information is hindered by the severe NDA (non-disclosure agreements) imposed on the studios and artists. I will therefore use my experience with game production and as a student, to research and propose an optimal pipeline for developing in-game animation that may be used by other students, researchers and independent game developers. The methodology used to test the pipeline will be a case study based on the student project Synergy, which I am developing with other third year students also attending the Game design Education at Gotland University..

This thesis has been conducted at Saab Bofors Dynamics AB. The purpose was to investigate if a non-linear missile model could be stabilized when the optimal control signal is computed considering constraints on the control input. This is particularly interesting because the missile is controlled with rudders that have physical bounds. This strategy is called Model Predictive Control. Simulations are conducted to compare this strategy with others; firstly simulations with step responses and secondly simulations when the missile is supposed to hit a moving target.

Studies show that product placement is becoming a more and more common method for companies to use when communicating with consumers. The results of this study can?t confirm nor deny that claim, but instead we offered the observation that as a communication method, product placement and TV-commercials are more similar than revealed at first glance.Cars of the brand Ford appeared in seven out of the 50 motion pictures that made up the sample material in this study. In several instances the values that were communicated regarding the brand matched, completely or in large parts, the values communicated about the Ford brand in Ford?s own commercials.This doesn?t hold true for all companies.

The aim of this thesis is to examine how salesperson control can be exercised in a retail store environment. A case study has been performed on a Swedish fashion company emphasizing the relationship between the company?s upper level management and their retail store operations in order to describe, analyze and classify the prevailing management control mechanisms. This master thesis deals with problems in the arc length control in Pulsed MIG/MAG Welding. The main problem is that it is not possible to measure the arc length. In the present solution the voltage over both the electrode and the arc represents the arc length. To improve the arc length control a model of the electrode melting has been built. One output from the model is the voltage over the electrode and with this voltage together with the measured voltage it is possible to calculate the voltage over just the arc.

Do ceramics have to be static? This was the question that spurred me into this work, and what kept me working on to achieve the possibility of motion in my ceramic objects. By combining the knowledge gained through my former education as an avionics technician with my interest in the ancient ceramic craft, I strive to create kinetic ceramic handicraft suitable for interaction with an audience.By a series of different phases I slowly go from understanding what kind of motion I want my objects to have, to actually realizing this motion in three-dimensional objects. In this project we have used the theory of analytical mechanics to derive equations of motion for complex mechanical systems in order to study their behaviour over time. Even if the theory provides powerful tools to tackle tough problems which would be very hard to solve by methods of Newtonian mechanics, you are still relatively limited without running any computer simulations. One realises that in a faster rate it will be an incredibly difficult task to find an analytical solution when the degrees of freedom increases. Even if one would succeed to derive the equations, one still has to solve them to get the information of the systems behavior. Of experience one knows that the equations in general are nonlinear and hence must be integrated numericaly.

Hypotesen vi arbetat utifrån var att en god balans mellan sömn och motion har en bättre inverkan på studieresultaten än vad ett obalanserat förhållande har.De tre frågeställningarna vi arbetade efter var? Finns det något samband mellan de antal timmar per natt under en skolvecka som en gymnasieelev sover och dennes studieresultat?? Ser sambandet sömn-studieresultat samt träning-studieresultat annorlunda ut mellan de praktiska och studieförberedande programmen?? Finns det något samband mellan den mängd lätt motion som gymnasieelever företar sig och deras studieresultat?MetodVi har valt att genomföra en enkätundersökning. Enkäten innehöll frågor rörande elevers sömn-, motions- och studievanor samt en fråga kring deras betyg i vissa av kärnämnena.Antalet enkäter uppgick till 149 stycken. Enkätundersökningen genomfördes på en gymnasieskola i en mellanstor stad i Svealand.Resultat:Studien påvisar ett svagt samband mellan sömn, motion och studieprestation.

In this report a system for Rapid Control Prototyping, RCP, is evaluated through animplementation of the motor control methods Field Oriented Control, FOC, and Space VectorPulse Width Modulation, SVPWM. The evaluation emphasizes on time-consumption andresource utilization on the used hardware and on usability for of software.A new mechatronic laboratory is under development at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås. This study aims to examine the effect management control systems have on which goals health centers prioritize. The management control systems of one privately owned and one publicly owned health center have been studied through a qualitative case study. Robert Simons (1995) framework with four levers of control (diagnostic control systems, interactive control systems, belief systems and boundary systems) has been used to structure the study. For both health centers we found a conflict of interest mainly between the diagnostic control system and the beliefs system, where the diagnostic control system is biased towards quantitative goals and the beliefs system is mainly biased towards qualitative goals. However, despite the unbalanced levers of control the studied health centers have been able to reach a well functioning compromise between quantitative and qualitative goals..
