The Social Democratic Party and the Moderate Party are two parties with different ideological background. The parties have different opinions in issues of public and private matters. The Social Democratic Party profiles it self, through the local and national party programs, as a party for solidarity and security. The Moderate Party, on the other hand, profiles it self through their programmes as a party with a possibility for the individual to shape his or her own life. Through a survey on members in the local government, and two key persons at national level, the view of municipal self-government has appeared.

In this diploma work the approach of determining the required amount of reinforcement in slabs exposed to pure tension is processed, on behalf of Ramböll Uppsala. It is a well-known problem in the industry that there are uncertainties in the determining of the amount of crack reinforcement, especially for structures exposed to pure tension. Cracking caused during the time of dehydration in concrete slabs is the most common defect according to statistics made by CBI[1], which provides numbers as high as 35 % of all the defects caused on slabs are generated by cracks. Comparisons between Sweden's former national standard BBK 04, Building Regulations for concrete structures due to restrained forces of shrinkage, and the current European standard Eurocode 2 are carried out through theoretical studies and concludes with several examples of calculations. Rigorous calculations of both standards, BBK 04 and Eurocode 2 with application of the national annex in Sweden and Denmark are performed.

This essay deals with the rationale and aims for doing cultural or aesthetic activities and projects in schools, and gives special focus to a specific group of students, attending schools provided at special residential homes for young people (sa?rskilda ungdomshem). These homes receive young people with psychosocial and substance misuse problems and who show tendencies towards criminal behavior. The essay investigates how working with a cultural project in schools at these residential homes is justified and also elucidates how this specific group of students and their problems are constructed in the documents surrounding the project. The essay will further ponder over possible educational and pedagogical consequences of these constructions.The investigation has its theoretical frame work in curriculum theory.

Background: The health of children and youth has decreased the last two decades. The Swedish government has decided to back a national plan for parenting support. The municipality of Tjörn is a part of national parental support project to identify the need and to improve the parental support in the municipality. Purpose: The purpose with this study was to identify experience and need of parental support among fathers with more than one child on Tjörn. Method: Five individual qualitative interviews were conducted with the fathers.

Organic food is produced in a way that strives towards maintaining and improving natural resources. The welfare of both producers and consumers is central, also taking both animals and the environment into account. The Swedish government finds this important and in 2006 they made a resolution that the consumption of organic food should be stimulated. The goal was that 25 % of the municipalities? consumption of food should be organic in 2010.The municipality of Ludvika reached the government's target in 2011 and is currently increasing their proportion of organic food by one new product every year.  Ludvika is a member of The National Association of Swedish Eco-municipalities and the town of Ludvika is also a Fairtrade city.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate how employers? rights to give employees notice because of illness are regulated in Swedish working life. This essay consists of two parts. The first part is jurisprudential and based on traditional juristic method. The second part entails the discipline Sociology of Law and is based on a qualitative survey consisting of two interviews.

In the middle of Australia there is a city called Alice Springs. The city has one of the highest amounts of daily sunshine hours and sun irradiation in the world. The Australian Government runs a project called Solar Cities, and Alice Springs is one of the participators. The main part of the goal with the Solar Cities project is to increase the amount of electricity generated by solar power and by doing that lower the impact on the environment. This thesis examines the possibilities for construction of a large scale solar power plant in Alice Springs. This is done to determine the potential of creating a more sustainable energy system in the city.

AimThe aim of this study is to give a picture of how the brand of Bollnäs GIF apprehends according to the sports club, the municipality of Bollnäs, the Swedish Bandy Association and the local business owners. Following questions has been used: How does the brand of Bollnäs GIF apprehend? Which existing soft value has the brand? What does the association contribute for the community, for local business owners and for the local development? How can the association develop the brand best in the future?MethodThe study is based upon ten interviews with persons representing organization that is concerned. These are: Bollnäs GIF, the municipality of Bollnäs, the Swedish Bandy Association and local business owners. I have analyzed the results compared to selected brand theories.ResultsThe existing value of the sports club-brand is the history and tradition that lies within the brand and the communion and the commitment the sports club creates in the Bollnäs.

Investeringsprocessen i Driconeq AB är en dynamisk och i många avseenden spännande process som vi har undersökt med stort intresse. Vi valde att med en kvalitativ metod och induktiv ansats utföra en fallstudie av Driconeq AB. Detta då vi ville göra en explorativ undersökning på djupet snarare än att undersöka generella fenomen. Driconeq AB är enligt sig själva - ett företag med goda ekonomiska och marknadsmässiga förutsättningar.Ägarstrukturen i företaget där sex av sju lika stora ägare arbetar inom företaget leder till förenklade beslutsprocesser och närhet till produktionen, vilket verkar vara en fördel. Vid intervju med Ekonomichef Per Eriksson framgick att just närheten till produktionen var en stor bidragande orsak till användandet av pay-off kalkyler eftersom ledningen är mer insatta i hur produktionen ?på golvet? ser ut.

Several cities have implemented various projects to improve traffic safety in city centers.During 1970s and 1980s the city centers changed as the suburbs grew and large shopping centers were located outside the center. At the same time, several projects were initiated with construction of pedestrian streets and restriction of traffic in the center. In year 1994,shared-used areas were introduced in Sweden and these areas are often used in center environments.In Sweden, municipalities are responsible for integrating security in public places and in comprehensive plans and detailed development plans. The National Board of Housing,Building and Planning is the authority for administrating planning issues and develop general guidance about planning. Traffic is one of their key issues, although today there are no concrete guidelines from the National Board of Housing, Building and Planningfor the design of traffic safety in city centers.Traffic safety in city centers affects many people because the city center is a public place.It is therefore important that there are current guidelines available that are helpful for changes and improvements in traffic safety in the city center.The purpose of this report is to formulate guidelines for planning city centers from a traffic safety perspective.

Företaget Toyota är känt för att ha utvecklat konceptet lean inom produktionssektorn. Under det senaste decenniet har även tjänstesektorn börjat tillämpa lean. Lean är ett diffust begrepp som kan tolkas olika eftersom konceptet kan uppfattas som ett arbetssätt, en metod eller också som en filosofi och kultur. Grundtanken bakom lean är att minska slöseri och öka kundnöjdheten.

Lagen om finansiell rådgivning har i bank- och försäkringsbranschen ställt krav på dokumentation och säkerställd teoretisk kompetens.Medlyssning är ett verktyg för att internt följa upp att kundmötet uppfyller kraven, samtidigt som det förväntas bidra till en utveckling av både rådgivaren och kundmötet.Syftet med den här studien är att utvärdera fenomenet medlyssning samt identifiera faktorer som kan bidra till att utveckla verktyget.En kvalitativ metod valdes och datainsamlingen genomfördes genom en fokusgruppintervju. Materialet bearbetades och resulterade i fyra kategorier: Lärandeprocessen, Bedömningen, Medlyssnaren och Framtiden.Studiens viktigaste slutsats är att resultatet av medlyssningen är avhängt vem som genomför den. Det är viktigt med åtgärder avseende närmsta chefs medlyssning, där målkonflikten behöver undanröjas och attityden behöver förändras. Rådgivaren lyfter fram att intresset för att utveckla kundmötet är den viktigaste faktorn för att det ska upplevas som meningsfullt.
