The modern workplace is dependent on effective communication in order for the employees to be able to execute their tasks. Despite this over half of the new communications-solutions that are inserted to handle an organizations communication needs fail. Therefore this study focuses on the adoption of communication-solutions in the context of the modern workplace. This with the intent of identifying factors that are central to the individuals? adoption of new communication-solutions.

Knowledge is frequently discussed in modern society, and has been since ancient Greece. Our goal is to examine the content of two political documents with the desire to point out their visions about how the Swedish school system should be shaped, in relations to knowledge. More precise this essay is going to concentrate on two specific political parties, Folkpartiet and Vansterpartiet and their official programs on the subject school and education, to see what they say about knowledge. The choice is made on the basis that these parties political standings differ most from each other, in the left/right scale in politics. The qualitative analysis takes its main base from Aristotels concepts of knowledge; Episteme, techne and fronesis, and Bernt Gustavssons modern defenitions of them.

It is a difficult task to define the little word ?modernity?. One may argue quite a lot about what modernity is as well as when modernity breaks trough. The burgess class was the group who initiated modernity in most cases. Since these people mainly dwelled in the cities it was in the cities were modernity started.

Detta projekt handlar om hur man kan änvända Louddens cirkulära strukturer och inkorporera dem i en modern stadsdel för att ge kvallitéer och identitet åt denna. För att ha någon utgånspunkt och för att begränsa min uppgift något har jag valt att utgå från stadens skiss för detta område. Fokus har legat på hur denna stadsplan möter cisternerna och berget de står på samt hur denna ?cisternstad? kopplar an till vattnet. Projektet kan därför delas upp i tre delar: stadens plan; cisternerna och fronten mot vattnet, där mitt fokus har legat på två av dessa: cisternerna och havsfronten.

As a newly graduated student in construction you rarely have as much knowledge as you wish you had. It is a complicated line of business that requires knowledge and understanding of both technical solutions and interaction between actors. It is impossible to be fully learned and with that much unknown it can be hard to know where to start. This report is one step in the right direction. It contains a planning that contains construction and installations for a one level house in Kiruna with its different choices motivated.

The report contains three parts. The first part is a summary and overall presentation of thermalcracks and preventing measures against such cracks. This is a theoretical part where theinterested designer can get acquainted with various alternatives, be guided to more detailedliterature, and receive some practical information regarding the design of the respectivemeasures.The second part deals with calculation of the risk for thermal cracks and design of water coolingas a limiting measure. The mission was to create a prototype of a menu system for the companySystem Andersson AB. The instructions were that it has to be as interesting andmodern now as in 20 years. We had to look at technology from the cutting edgeof development to make our prototype survive in the future. WindowsPresentation Foundation (WPF) was the technique we focused on. There areonly a few applications that take advantage of WPF today, but it is predictedthat WPF will be the next generation method for developing applications to theWindows platform.To make our menu visually appealing, easy to use and at the same timefunctional, we followed the clear path and guidelines that are available ininteraction design.

In this report the balconies? abutments for a property in Bo01-area in Malmö has been studied. The property which is called Vitruvius contains four build-ings where two of them have corbelling balconies with intermittent abutments. With intermittent abutment means that the 50 mm thermal bridge insulation that the balconies is equipped with, is broken regularly by a 300 mm concrete heel. The reinforcement bar that holds the balcony runs through this heel.

Vid hållplatser i städer finns ofta en busskur i glas med metallstomme. Tillsammans bildar de ett enhetligt uttryck i stadsbilden och bidrar till att resenärerna skyddas mot väder och vind. På landsbygden däremot är det glesare mellan kurerna och ofta ser de olika ut vid varje hållplats. För att nå det nationella mål med fördubblad kollektivtrafik fram till år 2020 kan en satsning för att skydda resenärerna vara på sin plats.Syftet med detta examensarbete är att utveckla en modern busskur för landsbygdsresenären som passar in i omgivningen. Kuren ska vara av trä och uppbyggt i delar som förenklar byggandet och minimerar byggtiderna.De metoder som tillämpats i arbetet är intervjuer, muntliga och skriftliga, en mindre enkätundersökning och en jämförelse mellan tre befintliga träkurer på landsbygden.

What roles are the most significant according to the users? Have the politicians succeeded in their intention of realizing a modern library according to the users? The theoretical starting point is Andersson?s and Skot-Hansen?s theory of four different roles of public libraries. In order to extend the model we added a fifth function; the one of aesthetical experience.

I min uppsats vill jag inbjuda till en alternativ tolkning av Hjalmar Söderbergs Martin Bircks ungdom (1901). Syftet med uppsatsen är att ge förståelse för Martin Bircks karaktär och handlande genom att belysa den centrala relationen mellan Martin och modern. För att analysera Martins psykologi ställs hans gestalt mot den historiska samtidens uppfattningar om psykologi. Jag har även använt mig av ett psykoanalytiskt angreppssätt, framför allt grundat på Sigmund Freuds idéer, vilket fungerar både som litterär teori och metod.I min undersökning har jag funnit att Martin är en neurotisk person som lider av många av de psykiska problem som var vanliga runt 1900-talets sekelskifte, så som neurasteni. Jag har i enlighet med freudiansk psykoanalys tolkat Martins neuros som grundad i en inre konflikt mellan detet och överjaget.

This essay will focus on the people using and are involved in, and have a large interest in the horror film genre. The purpose of this essay is to find what urge these people to continuously watch horror movies and how they believe to be acknowledge by the society in a modern sense. Our study is mainly based on two separate interviews and therefore, mainly from the users perspective. This essay is also complemented by earlier research on this topic. In context of stigma, violence debate, exclusion we found that the users truly can be found in a rare type of alternative sphere, besides the public sphere.

Fibromyalgi är en sjukdom som med sin karaktäristiska smärta och många tillhörande symtom orsakar stort lidande för de drabbade. Orsaken till sjukdomen är ännu inte helt klarlagd. Central sensitisering har på senare tid fått ökat stöd i forskningen om fibromyalgi och innebär att det är ett onormalt smärtprocessande i det centrala nervsystemet som orsakar den ökade smärtan. Samband och överlapp mellan fibromyalgi och miljökänsligheter antyder att en mer generell sensorisk överkänslighet grundad i central sensitisering kan vara en gemensam bakomliggande faktor. Sensitiseringen är också relaterad till kognitiva aspekter som oro och uppmärksamhet.

Sharia or western equality?womenin Egyptian legislationThe Islamic law (Sharia) in most of the countries in Middle East and North Africa has been the basis for modern laws which regulate issues such as marriage, divorce and inheritance. These laws (personal status law or family law) have been debated frequently in the last decades.There are those who consider personal status law (PSL) as unjust, male-biased and discriminating against women especially in the issue of divorce. On the other hand there are voices who call to go back to the Sharia, because muslims has to follow the islamic law and its values, they are universal as they claim. In this essay I try to enlighten these two points of view which can be found in the debate in Egypt.
