The essay begins by asserting that the theoretical approaches of men?s violence against women are just as important to study as its extent. The purpose is therefore to analyse and compare two theoretical approaches which is done by a comparative text analysis of two texts written on the subject. The essay attempts to answer two questions; what the theoretical approaches are and how they can be understood in light of feminist theory.Previous research on men?s violence against women discuss especially three theoretical aspects.

During my studies to become a guitar builder at Carl Malmsten CTD, I have found an interest in the construction of the classical guitar. I am fascinated by the simplicity of its construction. A simplicity that becomes more complex when you start to study it in detail.In my final thesis I will not try to explain this complexity. The subject is to investigate two different principles regarding its construction. I would like to find out if the sayings concerning one of the principles will yield a guitar with greater ability to produce volume and projection.At a close distance the difference between the guitar?s volumes is not to speak of, but a significant difference can be seen regarding one of the guitars ability to project its sound.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of how a bank?s features and internal factors have affected its choice of method in calculating the capital requirement.Theoretical and Empirical Method: The research strategy of this study has been of a qualitative nature with a deductive approach. The choice of method was depth interviews with respondents from a targeted sample of Swedish banks. These respondents were chosen based on the knowledge they possess as key employees in the capital requirement process and their involvement in choosing their banks? method for calculating the capital requirement.

This paper has its aim to investigate in which way the theory about the dynamic of the triadic nexus, presented by Brubaker, needs to be revised. In the first place this theory is presented and after then applied on the triad formed by: the Hungarian national minority in Transylvania, Romania and Hungary. Through the empirical evidences, that are presented here by following up the political relations and its dynamics over time between the three fields, is shown that the theory is usable for the case in question. Further as we approach the more actual development of the political life in the triad appears a need to deal with one more field which would be for example the NATO or/and EU.This means that Brubakers theory has to be revised so it would take in account a forth field and that of an international organization/institution. The arguments for this needed change is put forth through empirical evidences on the political relations that the two states has with NATO or/and EU and the huge influence these have on the states..

Today Sweden is both a secular and multi-religious country, of which Christianity historically has been a dominant player. Both processes of individualization and migration have contributed to a changed religious character as the current Swedish social situation represents. An interesting question to consider is how the Swedish school system has been able to adapt to the changed religious climate. This study examines the policy documents for religious education produced for upper secondary school, to see how the role of religion in the processes of individualization and migration, and the changes that these processes have brought the role of religion in today?s society as a whole, are described within them.

Eftersom en majoritet av befolkningen har viss erfarenhet av att använda modern teknologi är det oftast deras nivå som man utgår ifrån vid utveckling av applikationer. Det finns dock fortfarande personer som aldrig använder modern informationsteknologi då de saknar både kunskap och tillgång. Många av dessa personer är äldre vuxna som inte fått en naturlig introduktion via skola eller arbetsliv. Denna studie undersöker vilka hinder dessa personer möter då de använder teknik som för medelsvensken är vardaglig. Genom intervjuer och användartester belyser vi de problem som utgör hinder för gruppens användande av informationsteknologi.

Denna studie undersöker vad och hur lärare i de naturvetenskapliga ämnena bedömer i laborationer. Studien undersöker också om det finns några alternativ till det traditionella naturvetenskapliga sättet att synliggöra elevers utveckling i det praktiska momentet vid laborationer. För att få tillgång till lärares uppfattningar genomfördes i detta arbete tre intervjuer med lärare. Resultatet visar att, det som främst bedöms vid laborationer är laborationsrapporten. De kunskapskvalitéer som bedöms i det praktiska momentet är aktivitet och grupprocesser.

This paper aims to study upper secondary school seniors? relationship to poetry. The researchers seek to discover the students? conceptualization of the subject of poetry. Fur-thermore, this paper will present a case study, in which sixteen students participate.

I detta examensarbete har jag tillsammans med min kollega Markus Eriksson spelat in sju musikstycken med tydligt bera?ttande funktion. Dessa sju musikstycken fungerar som filmmusik till fyra olika historier som utspelar sig i ett la?genhetshus, ett introstycke som sammanfattar hela den musikaliska ide?n, ett stycke som gestaltar gatan samt ett stycke som beskriver ka?nslan i trapphuset. Materialet utgo?r en del av min portfolio och fo?rhoppningsvis kommer detta projekt o?ka mina mo?jligheter att fa? skriva musik till ro?rlig bild i framtiden.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka korrelationen mellan vetenskaplig forskning av läsinlärning i det kinesiska språket bland barn i Kina i skolans första år, med nationella officiella direktiv som berättar vad läsinlärningen ska innehålla och på vilket sätt den ska utföras. En god korrelation kan tolkas som att direktiven för den nuvarande undervisningen är modern och uppdaterad och ligger i linje med modern forskning. För att genomföra undersökningen sammanfattas först ett stort antal vetenskapliga artiklar vilka redogör för faktorer som är viktiga för läsinlärningen. Därefter studeras den kinesiska nationella läroplanen samt två olika läroböcker för grundskolans första år, vilka tillsammans representerar nationella direktiv. Många av de centrala faktorerna som finns enligt forskningen finns även med i de nationella direktiven.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka sex socialsekreterares uppfattningar av modern och fadern som föräldrar i familjer där mannen utövar våld mot kvinnan samt att undersöka om deras uppfattningar av modern och fadern skiljer sig åt, avseende föräldraskapet. Undersökningen bestod av halvstrukturerade intervjuer med sex socialsekreterare. Resultaten analyserades utifrån tidigare forskning, rollteori och genus. Resultaten av undersökningen visade att socialsekreterarna uppfattade ett bra föräldraskap som att det medför skyldigheter såsom att tillgodose sina barns behov. Mödrar och fäder har lika ansvar för barnets välbefinnande.

Dagens dynamiska situation på marknaden sätter spår på den befintliga marknadsfilosofin med fokus på kommunikationen mellan företaget och konsumenten. Den moderna teknologin och Internet har utvecklats och blivit mer tillgängliga, vilket har bidragit till att den moderna konsumenten tillbringar en stor del av sin tid på Internet. De digitala nätverken och kommu-nikationen inom dem förändrar konsumentbeteenden och attityder, främjar konsumenters självständighet samt ger kontroll över köpbesluten. De här trenderna påverkar dagens detalj-handel, där konkurrensen och kampen om kundernas lojalitet ökar. Konventionella marknads-föringsstrategier föråldras snabbt under dagens förlopp och kräver mer kreativitet och enga-gemang av företaget.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relation between self-determination theory and its three basic needs: competence, autonomy and relatedness, and commitment to change in an organizational change. Another purpose was to examine if the quality of the communication and the effects on the organization and way to work can predict commitment to change. Considering that organizational changes is very common today there is an interest to ease and improve the change process. The survey contained the scales Commitment to change scale and Basic need satisfaction at work scale and the participants were 39 office-workers who recently had gone through an organizational change. The result indicated that it?s possible to predict commitment to change from self-determination theory, communication and effects on organization and way to work.

In this paper we investigate 67 Swedish buyouts in the manufacturing and retailing sector between the years 2004-2012. The purpose is to measure changes in a set of financial key ratios to see if private equity firms are able to improve performance in their portfolio companies compared to a peer group consisting of other firms within the same industries. Furthermore, we examine if there is a difference in the change of the financial key ratios between private equity-owned firms in the two sectors. The key results are that the private equity owned firms have not outperformed their peers with respect to the chosen key ratios. We also conclude that there is no significant difference in the change of the financial key ratios between private equity-owned firms in the two sectors..

This thesis is set out as a testing of the crosscutting cleavages theory on twocontemporary cases. The aim is to test the explanation process of the crosscutting theory applied to the political and social situations in Belgium and Switzerland and furthermore to examine potential conflicts in pluralistic states. Our main questionis: How can the crosscutting cleavages theory explain the different outcomes ofsocial coexistence, even with the states numerous similarities? We have examined the two federal states through their social divisions of language, region, religion and socio-economy. Our findings show that both Belgium and Switzerland possess divisions in the above mentioned variables, which in most cases are cumulative structured.
