Smartphone applications, or apps, are an increasingly important part of omnichannel retailing. While the adoption and usage of apps for communicating with consumers has grown exponentially over the past few years, there is little academic research in this area. The primary purpose of this thesis is to describe how the involvement in a product category affects consumers' intention to use a retailer-branded smartphone application during their shopping trip. Drawing upon recent IS-literature with models TAM and UTAUT, our results indicate that product category involvement constitutes an important factor on the intention to use a retailer-branded smartphone application. By viewing involvement as a multidimensional construct, our study shows that the degree of hedonic and expressive value a product cateogry provides consumers with has important effects on intention, and these relationships are not moderated by consumers' age.

This thesis presents the theory behind prototyping and user interviews as parts of requirements analysis. It further discusses how these were used in the development of a budget planning application. The implemented Web-based solution uses a new component-based design rooted in a Model-View-Controller architecture. The application is used today with complete success at the Department of Computer and Information Science at Linköping University..

IsMobile har utvecklat ett Internetbaserat verksamhetsstöd för företag med mobil personal inom fältservice (produktlinje Blå CoordinatorTM). Blå CoordinatorTM kombinerar, stöd för uppdragshantering, avancerad optimeringsteknik och den senaste mobila teknologin. Syftet har varit att studera hur mobil teknologi och mobilt verksamhetsstöd som Blå CoordinatorTM kan effektivisera uppdragshanteringen i drifts och serviceorganisationer/företag. Totalt har fem företag/organisationer granskats: ? Piteå Kommun ? Hellmans Rör/NVS AB ? Rikspolisstyrelsen ? Riksbyggen ? Skellefteå Kraft Slutsatser angående hur ett sådant system skulle kunna förbättra verksamheten är baserat på litteraturstudier, kvalitativa bedömningar, intervjuer och analys av verksamheten.

I början av 1800-talet började järnvägsnätet i delar av Europa elektrifieras. Då klarade inte motorerna att kommutera vid nätets höga frekvens, 50 Hz, då omformades istället frekvensen till 16,7 Hz. För att växla frekvensen användes roterande omformare. Senare kom mobila omformare som stod på järnvägsvagnar. Dessa omformarstationer var ofta placerade i bergrum.

Sedan 2013 rullar Food Trucks i Stockholms gatumatsflora. Food Trucks är specialinredda motorfordon som används för att servera mat. En av pionjärerna bland Food Trucksen i Stockholm är El Taco Truck. El Taco Truck startades med ambitionen att servera genuin Mexikansk mat, lagad med kärlek. Den rosalackerade Food Trucken vid namn Miss Piggy var El Taco Trucks första truck och har rullat på Stockholms gator i fyra år.

Nya krav ställs på dagens åkerier och förare. Hårdare kontroller eftersträvas på hur länge en förare får köra, hur lång rast och sömn han eller hon måste ha. I dagsläget finns inget mobilt system eller mobil mjukvara för att kunna hantera de kraven på tidrapportering inom transportbranschen. Tidrapportering inom åkeribranschen sker oftast genom att föraren håller kontroll på sina arbetstider själv på ett pappersformulär eller liknande. Sedan förs dessa in manuellt i någon form av lönesystem.

This is a master thesis work carried out at the Department of Energy and Environment atthe Division of Electric Power Engineering. The master thesis work describes the theoryof distance protection relaying in 130 kV meshed distribution networks. The main aim ofthe thesis was to construct an Excel application for calculation and documentation of thesettings for distance protection relays. The program is based on general methods forcalculating settings of the different zones for the distance relay and presents the settingsin simple graphics using quadrilateral characteristics.The reason for building an Excel based application is the great variety of distanceprotection relays in live networks. The manufacturers of distance protection relays makeprogram for documentation available, however, they are based on the typical settings forthe specific relays.

Detta adderande värde för kunden sker huvudsakligen på två nivåer av konvergensen.: Tjänstekonvergensen, där man genom att erbjuda tjänster såväl fast som mobilt ökar tjänsens värde och på så sätt ger kunden ett ökat värde. Det ökade värdet av tjänsterna grundar sig i att de kommer att vara tillgängliga oberoende av terminaltyp och accessteknik. Affärskonvergens, vilket innebär att liknande funktioner i de båda affärsområdena fast- och mobil kommunikation konvergerar och t.ex. gemensamma kunddatabaser växer fram.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine if there where fallacies in the design solutions for the business system IFS Applications from a user perspective, and if so, correct these from a cognitive science approach.Data collection consisted of three main portions. These where; workshop, individual interviews and observations. The collected data was analyzed and resulted in identification of two main areas in the application that where found lacking.The result of the study showed that the usability for processing large amounts of data and the lack of customization where the main flaws in the application. Two low fidelity prototypes where created with the purpose of rectifying the underlying flawed design solutions that where identified from the collected data..

The task to this thesis has been to create an application, Katana-databas 1.0, for analysing c-code. The generated output gets stored in a data structure which content in the end of the program run gets written in a textfile which gets used by Katana. It's a tool for reverse engineering, developed by Johan Kraft at Mälardalens institute.Katana-databas has got the following limitations. (1) It can only handle preprocessed files, meaning it doesn't contain any rows beginning with "#". (2) Only complete files can be handled.

The most common method for identifying merchandise in the commerce is by barcodes. Symbian OS is an advanced operating system aimed at cell phones and the most commonly used in smart phones. Opportunities to a full range of new services are given through barcode recognition in a Symbian OS based device. Therefore the purpose of this degree project was to create an application which would contribute to a future solution aimed at shopping where the cell phone constitutes a reader of items? identification numbers.

Eutrophication was recognized in the early 1900's and results in severe algal blooms, increased biomass production and eventually leads to an altered ecosystem. In Mälardalen we find the most eutrophic lakes. Most of the applied phosphorus and nitrogen into seas and oceans comes from agriculture, and the nutrients losses are affected by local weather conditions and soil type. Guidelines for storage and distribution of manure were introduced in the 80s, and the rules were strengthened January 1, 2010. Localities and previous county administrations can whether there are special reasons, grant an exemption for manure application during winter-periods despite the current ban.In this essay I have examined how many exemptions of manure application that has been granted at the Sagån river, and what implications it has for the eutrophication of Lake Mälaren.

The report analyses if some common problems can be avoided by using modern technology. As a reference system ?Fartygsrapporteringssystemet? is used. It is an n-tier web application built with modern technology at time, 2003-2004. The aim is to examine whether ASP.Net MVC, Windows Communication Foundation, Workflow Foundation and SQL Server 2005 Service Broker can be used to create an n-tier web application which also communicate with other systems and facilitate automated testing.
