Internet has made information more easy to get, but also more difficult to retrieve. There is a need for information retrieval systems that assure accurate, reliable and up to date information. Quite a number of both commercial and non commercial search services has been developed on the Internet. We have made a qualitative study of one for-pay product in particular, NetS k, produced by BTJ (Bibliotekstj nst), Lund. It is a database that contains collected, evaluated and classified links, and is especially developed to suit public librarians in Sweden.

Behovet av tillgänglighet på kommunikation innebär att vi idag har krav på att meddelanden som skrivs över webben inte bara når oss via en dator utan även till våra mobiltelefoner. Målet med examensarbetet har varit att genom litteraturstudie och intervjuer konstruera ett webbaserat SMS-system som kan användas till att sända SMS textmeddelande till en godtycklig mobiltelefonenhet. Meddelande som sänds ska även lagras i databas och administreras via webbsidan. En jämförelse har även genomförts där syftet har varit att undersöka bäst lämpat programspråk för Bluetooth applikation. Metoden har grundat sig på kriterier.

BakgrundForskningen kring kvinnors historia började ta form under 1970-talet. Det forskningen visar är att det finns två inriktningar i genusforskningen, antingen kvinnohistoria bredvid manshistoria eller att man flätar ihop kvinnornas i männens historia. I de läromedel som finns på skolorna idag omnämns främst drottningar och religiösa kvinnor.SyfteSyftet med studien är att undersöka om lärare synliggör de båda könen. Frågeställningarna är vilka som står i fokus i historieundervisningen och hur lärarna gör för att skapa ett helhetsperspektiv i undervisningen.MetodVi har använt intervju som metod, och har intervjuat fem lärare på fyra olika skolor, inom samma kommun.ResultatVårt resultat visar att lärarna fortfarande har fokus på kungar och krig i undervisningen men har med ett genusperspektiv i sin undervisning genom att undervisa kring folkets historia istället för enbart makthavare. Resultatet visar också att lärarna har för lite kunskaper kring genusperspektiv kopplat till historieundervisning.

Detta arbete bygger på intervjuer med åtta lärare som alla jobbar i år 4-9. Syftet med studien innebar att beskriva hur ett antal lärare uppfattar lärande i skolan. Uppsatsen beskriver olika teoretiska tankar i anknytning till just området lärande samt hur de kan knytas an till lärarnas uppfattningar. I de teoretiska utgångspunkterna finns ett stycke som allmänt behandlar begreppet lärande. Fyra lärteorier har också belysts, nämligen det behavioristiska, det kognitiva, det fenomenografiska samt det kontextuella synsättet.

Mitt syfte är att undersöka TV som barnkulturellt medium; var det befinner sig på det barnkulturella fältet, vilka emotionella responser det förmår väcka hos sin publik och hur både diskurser om barn och barndom och existentiella frågor formuleras i TV-dramatik för barn. Jag har analyserat fem TV-serier (Vi på Saltkråkan (1964), Ebba och Didrik (1990), Barnens detektivbyrå (1991), Du måste förstå att jag älskar Fantomen (1981) samt Rädda Joppe ? död eller levande (1985)) med fokus på just barndomsdiskurser och existentiella frågor. Mina teoretiska utgångspunkter har varit flera då jag försökt hitta en tvärvetenskaplig ingång till mitt ämne. Teorier om kultur och populärkultur, kultursociologisk teori och diskursteori är utgångspunkter, som jag kombinerat med mer specifika teorier om TV, barns TV-tittande och receptionsteori.

The aim of this thesis is to examine how librarians and family historians experience their interaction at the reference encounter, what influences these views and how they affect the service; whether the family historians are aware of these views; which subject knowledge is needed and how this knowledge affects work performance; if there is a need for continuing education, and finally, if the family historians themselves can work as a resource for the library or the librarians? The thesis consists of three parts; in the first a theoretical frame was constructed around the concepts service, continuing education, subject knowledge and attitudes. Role theory was used as a theoretical background to show how expectations influence professional roles. The second part consists of the results given from the qualitative interviews with librarians and surveys with family historians that were performed. In the last part a discussion from the theoretical and empirical information earlier received was made.

The aim of this thesis is to discuss selected parts of cataloguing both from a practical and a theoretical viewpoint. It presents the basic grounds for cataloguing of printed as well as non-printed materials. The focus lies on the main entry heading and its author/title problem concerning film. The thesis theoretical part consists of an analysis of central documents dealing with the author concept from both a library- and information science perspective and a film science perspective. The practical part consists of interviews from two Swedish public libraries, which have different approaches on presenting films.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine readers? advice in weblogs - frequently modified web pages with a series of archived entries. We have chosen to study a specific kind of entry that contains information about a book of fiction- not for children and young adults - and the bloggers? comments regarding that same book. The entries are published in ten weblogs that all deal with literature and reading.

The aim of this study was to examine how children in ages 3 to 4 use the public library with the research questions: What does children?s, in ages between 3 and 4, information behavior look like when they visit a public library in leisure time with a parent? What is the nature of interaction between child and parent, child and the staff of the library, and between child and other visitors? What is the function of the cultural tools in relation to the children?s information behavior? The theoretical frame of reference consisted of Lev Vygotsky?s ?the zone of proximal development? and Roger Säljö?s theory about using cultural tools. To answer the questions I have observed 4 children together with their mothers and siblings at a public library. From the result of the observations I found that every child had their own information behavior. Two of the children only used one kind of cultural tool ? books.

The aim of this thesis was to examine how role players experiences libraries and if the libraries are or can be an arena for activities that involves role play. A public library exists for everyone, but could nevertheless be viewed as a female sphere where women both borrow more books and visit the libraries program activities to a larger extent, compared to men. I asked the question whether men?s reason for choosing a different venue for information and culture was related to the libraries not being able to satisfy their needs. The theory of the thesis was Dorte Skot-Hansen, Casper Rasmussen Hvenegaard and Henrik Jochumsens model that states that the libraries can have four different functions and act as a venue for meetings, knowledge, inspiration and experiences.

Examensarbetets mål har varit att formge ett karaffset åt Skrufs Glasbruk som skiljer sig från nuvarande sortiment utan att företagets identitet går förlorad.Observationer, handledningar samt egen research har legat till grund för arbetet.Designprocessen har gått ut på att ta fram ett karaffset. ITK (Identity Tool Kit) har satt ramarna för projektarbetet.Projektet resulterade i ett förslag som efter konsultation med mina handledaresamt Skrufs Glasbruks ägare Kent Elm godtogs varpå detaljerna finslipadestill ett färdigt resultat..

?Scanvados ? en skånsk calvados? börjar med en beskrivning av vad calvados egentligen är och vilka som är de ultimata förhållandena för att kunna producera en god och attraktiv calvados. Examensarbetet fortsätter sedan med att undersöka förutsättningarna för calvadosdestillering i Skåne, och täcker juridiska, ekonomiska och praktiska aspekter av produktionsförloppet såsom lagar, tillstånd, kostnader men även ifall de närproducerade äppelsorterna lämpar sig för calvadostillverkning. Mot slutet följer en diskussion som knyter ihop de olika resultaten av undersökningarna och där jag drar mina slutsatser om en hållbar calvadosproduktion i Skåne..

Begreppet nätverk förekommer inom såväl forskarsamhällets begreppsvärld som inom litteratur som ser nätverk som en strategi för utveckling av individer, regioner, organisationer eller företag. Verbet ?att nätverka? finns i dag i var mans mun, och avser då allt från personliga kontaktnät till organisering av den lokala idrottsklubben. Är nätverk ett modeord som kommer att försvinna inom en snar framtid, eller kan intresset för nätverk säga något om vår samtid?Syftet med denna uppsats är att utveckla kunskap om talet om nätverk på olika nivåer.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine the function of public libraries on the social web, focusing on reading promotion and reading stimulation. For an understanding of the larger context regarding public libraries on the social web, we conducted online interviews via email with people in the Swedish library profession, together with a content analysis of various texts on the subject found in library journals and on the Internet. Furthermore to identify the public library's practice on reading promotion and reading stimulation on the social web, we did interviews with librarians at a public library on their use of a blog for this purpose, together with a questionnaire handed out to the library's users on their use and conceptions of the blog.The conceptual framework of this study consists of four key aspects in the theoretical and empirical definition of Library 2.0 presented by Holmberg, Huvila and Widén-Wulff. The results showed that the public library can create a substantial value through its use of the social web, but it?s necessary to have a clear vision of the desired outcome.
