The objective of the study is to map the cognitive structure of Library and Information Science, using a quantitative, bibliometric method. This empirical study shows how co-citation analysis combined with word-frequency analysis can be used to describe the subject content of the field. The research questions to be answered are: -Which clusters of authors can be identified? -How can these clusters be described in respect of their subject content, if the descriptors associated with the authors in the clusters are counted? The results show that the cognitive structure of Library and Information Science can be described by 13 clusters of authors, where each cluster is representing a specific aspect of the subject- domain. Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att undersöka hur patienter med prostatacancer upplever stöd och information från vården och närstående. Resultaten i studien grundades på 15 vetenskapliga artiklar av både kvalitativ och kvantitativ ansats. Sökningar gjordes via Högskolan Dalarnas sökmotor Elin@dalarna och databaserna Blackwell synergy, Cinahl, Weiley och PubMed. Via granskningsmallar kvalitetsgranskades artiklarna, utgivna 1999-2009. Artiklarna var på engelska och etiskt godkända.

This thesis will portray the different types of students at the programs of library studiesin Lund and Umeå.The study is based upon quantitative information gathered from a survey, which wasdistributed to first-year students in Lund and Umeå. The survey was followed by qualitativeinterviews with four students, and with the director of studies from each school.The study shows that the programs, as we11 as the students, are very similar, althoughthere are some minor differences. It seemed that the students at Umeå were moreinterested in culture than those at Lund.A certain connection between the aim at information and the ownership of a computercould be detected. The sex of the students played a major part in their choice of education.The attractors and facilitators, used by Lortie in his study, could also be appliedto the students at the program of library studies in our thesis..

Att bli inlagd på sjukhus är för de flesta barn en ny upplevelse. För barnet kan sjukhusmiljön orsaka smärtsamma upplevelser som kan vara mycket svåra att hantera. Innan barnet har fått ett fullt utvecklat språk använder de leken som kommunikationssätt. Barn använder informationen som ett intellektuellt stöd för att hjälpa sig själva att klara av cancersjukdomen. Att undersöka betydelsen av bemötande och information till barn i olika utvecklingsstadier samt deras föräldrar och syskon i samband med cancersjukdom var syftet med studien.

Patienter som akut insjuknar i hjärtinfarkt drabbas ofta av problem efteråt. Ett sätt att reducera dessa problem är att ge patienten en god och relevant information, in-dividuellt anpassad till den enskilde patienten. Syftet med studien var att genom en systematisk litteraturöversikt undersöka informationens betydelse för hjärtpatienter i det akuta skedet och i den tidiga rehabiliteringsprocessen. Litteraturöversikten ba-serades på tre frågeställningar som utvecklats från syftet: vilken betydelse har in- formation för patentens välbefinnande, vilken information vill patienten ha eller inte ha och vad är av betydelse hur informationen ges. Studien genomfördes med en metod för systematisk litteraturöversikt som innebar systematisk sökning av lit-teratur i databaserna.

This thesis focuses on information seeking and use by volunteers and employees in women?s organisations helping women who have been subject to violence. These organisations for example provide help and support, legal assistance and temporary shelter. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with five women working in Terrafem, which is a women?s organisation directed towards women with a non-Swedish background.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to study opinions about the Swedish hospital libraries and their activities for the patients, in a selection of Swedish library journal articles. The theoretical starting point is grounded in Laclau and Mouffes discourse theory. The empirical material consists of 43 articles from three library journals; Biblioteksbladet, Blänkaren and DIK-forum, published between 1990 and 2004. These are analysed through a reading scheme in four levels. In the empirical material two themes appear; the culture theme and the patient information theme.

The meeting is a very important part in caring and few studies have been made on this topic from the patient.s perspective. The purpose of this study was to describe the patient.s perspective on the meeting with the nurse. The study is a literature review, where articles have been reviewed, encoded, and then categorized. The result builds on our four main categories, confirmed as a unique indidual, the meaning of the information according to the patient, the humanistic side of the nurse, and the importance of humor in the meeting.

The study was based on qualitative interviews with six midwives in various youth centres in Stockholm County. Syfte: Att studera och analysera hur implementeringen av balanserat styrkort går till i två verksamheter med avseende på information, dialog och delaktighet. Metod: Vi har använt oss av semistandardiserade personliga intervjuer på lednings-, facklig och individnivå, i två tillverkande företag. Det material som vi erhållit ligger till grund för vår analys och våra slutsatser som vi har arbetat med utifrån vår problemdiskussion. Slutsatser: I de två tillverkande företagen vi studerade lades ingen vikt vid delaktigheten hos de anställda vid införandet av balanserat styrkort. Bristen på delaktighet skapade dålig eller ingen acceptans till förändringen.
