The purpose of this thesis has been to develop a tool for modelling and simulating the nuclear plant Ringhals 3. The model should be used to improve the knowledge on the dynamics of the plant. Ringhals 3 is being upgraded to produce more power and a tool for analyzing the new operating conditions is needed.The work in this thesis has consisted of improving and developing an existing model of Ringhals 3 made with the modelling tool Dymola. The model has been validated by comparing the results of a simulated house load transient with data from the actual plant. Validation shows good agreement with data from the real plant.

Slakteriverksamhet blir allt mer intressant med tanke på de ständiga variationerna i slaktsvinspriset, en av flera stora osäkerhetsfaktorer inom lantbruksbranschen. Genom att komplettera olika verksamheter inom animalieproduktion med ett slakteri har man möjlighet till att investera sig till en större säkerhet genom att man har hela produktionsledet fram till konsumenten. Syftet med projektet är att undersöka om det går att få lönsamhet i ett mindre slakteri samt vilka formella krav som ställs. Därför togs kontakt med en mindre slakteriägare som bedriver slakteriverksamhet lokalt i Blekinge. Denna slakteriägare utgör huvudkällan till arbetet. Det första man ska söka vid ett ägarbyte är tillstånd. Beroende på hur mycket köttprodukter du producerar ansöker du antingen till kommunen eller till Livsmedelsverket.

Syftet med studien är att kartlägga och utvärdera IT-stödet inom institutioner tillhörande den samhällsvetenskapliga fakulteten vid Uppsala universitet. En fallstudie har genomförts som resulterat i en verksamhetsdiagnos som utgör en summativ utvärdering av IT-stödet för grundutbildningen. I denna utvärdering beskrivs problem och styrkor med IT stödet ur ett verksamhetsperspektiv. Studien visar att IT-stödet (e-infrastrukturen) på lokal nivå inom Uppsala universitet är komplex, problematisk och att den har en skiftande kvalitet. Undersökta institutioner har olika behov och krav på IT-stöd.

Open source is growing outside the boundaries of hackers, amateurs and software development, creating a humongous potential in many different areas and aspects of society. The intrinsic and extrinsic motivations that drives open source have been in the subject of much research recently, but how they affect each other when paid and unpaid contributors come together is still hidden in obscurity. In this study I investigate how intrinsic and extrinsic motivation correlates with each other and how those correlations affect paid and unpaid open source software contributors. The literature synthesis is based on of systematic reviews through searches in library databases, identification of articles by searching on the Internet and by reading relevant books. My results indicate that intrinsic and extrinsic motivations continuously affect each other and that paid contributors are more vulnerable since their extrinsic motivation in terms of money is reached only when many other motivations are fulfilled.

The purpose of this essay is to explore the actor network of a high technology company in the textile industry called F.O.V. Fabrics. The background for doing this is a recent project, which we choose to call the Salt & Paper Battery Group, aiming to commercialize a newly discovered technology ? a battery based on cellulose from an alga. We start by examining a range of network theories in order to eventually shape a framework of our own.

Detta examensarbete, vilket utförts hos Expektra, har bidragit till design, utveckling ochimplementation av ett webbaserat användargränssnitt för en av deras produkter, Predict Demand.För projektgenomförande har projektet inneburit att ta reda på olika metoder för att utvärdera derasnuvarande prototyp med utgångspunkt i människo-datorinteraktion och interaktionsdesign. Detta ärvärdefullt när det kommer till designen- och vidareutvecklingsprocessen för generellaanvändargränssnitt. I projektet har man även undersökt olika hjälpmedel och ramverk som föreffektiv implementeringen av gränssnittet.Resultat av design och implementation har i slutet av projektet utvärderats av två användare hos enreferenskund för tjänsten. Trots att antalet svar är begränsat och därmed inte är av statistisksignifikans kan svaren analyseras och ge input till vidareutveckling av gränssnittet. Svaren vargenomgående positiva till hur den slutgiltiga designen blev och alla de olika delar som togs upp ienkäten.

Japan's foreign and security policy has seen some substantial changes as a result of events like the first Gulf war and 9/11th. This has been taken as proof, by some, that Japan is abandoning its antimilitaristic stance and pursuing a more traditional hard power role through military means. This essay aims to explore if these shifts have coincided with any substantial shifts away from antimilitarism, which has had a strong influence on the country's security policy since the end of WW2.To do this I use constructivist theory, specifically regarding the impact of norms and identities on states security policy and briefly look into the problem of actor designation. The thematic focus is on security policy, from a narrow perspective, and thus I examine areas like the input and output to the Japanese military and the actual applications of this force. State identity is used to explore the prevalence of nationalistic sentiments and support for anti militarism in the public opinion and the political elite.The result of this study points to the further relevance of constructivist theory and especially the application of norms and identity.

This bachelor thesis aims to explore the public?s personal connection and attachment to place, as well as their perception of changes in the built environment that has occurred in close proximity to the area. Based upon a questionnaire carried out in a public square in Gothenburg, namely J?rntorget, the study examines the impact of the construction of two high-rise buildings that was initiated roughly five years ago adjacent to the square. The essays theoretical framework is based on the concept sense of place, a concept which derives from the discipline of Geography. To be able to evaluate different radio waveforms in a laboratory environment FOI in Linköping has developed an experimental system for radio communication called Rasmus. The system consists of a transmitter, a channel emulator and a receiver. The transmitter modulates a digital signal to a desired analogue waveform. The channel emulator is used to simulate a real radio channel. The channel emulator distorts the signal by splitting it up in several propagation paths.

On the first of January 2012, a new public authority was formed in Värmland, due to a new legislation on public transport. The first task for the new public authority was to produce a plan for the development of public transport. In order to do so, it had to execute an extensive consultation process about the long-term goals of public transport. The purpose of the thesis is to investigate how a public authority can use a consultation process as a means to clarify accountability and produce unified goals. To answer that, I have done a case study about how the new regional public authority in Värmland for public transport has acted in the process of writing a plan for the development of public transport.

Detta kommer att unders?kas utifr?n ?tta h?gstadiel?rares perspektiv som, i kontrast till v?rdnadshavare, kommunicerar och har kontakt med flera v?rdnadshavare samt har en bredare ?verblick ?ver eleverna. Syftet konkretiseras genom f?ljande fr?gest?llningar: 1. Vilka m?jligheter och hinder finns i kommunikationen mellan l?rare och v?rdnadshavare p? en m?ngkulturell skola? 2.
