Tutor: Susan Marton. ?The relationship between national government and local municipality when a refugee centre shall be located.?The purpose of this essay is to examine the relationship between government and municipality with the help from the interdependens theory when a refugee centre is located. To be able to say something about the relationship between those two actors I have been using two municipalities as examples.

In the West, travels are often regarded as a given. When tourism is studied it sometimes sounds as if all people have the opportunity to go on vacation when they want and wherever they want. That is not the reality for all. There are laws and regulations on visa requirement which makes it harder for nationals of certain countries to travel on holiday abroad. This essay examines the situation for residents of countries outside the EU and the Schengen Agreement.

The purpose of this essay was to enhance the understanding and knowledge about phenomenon access support. Access support means that a third person (contact person) must be present during access visits between a child and its parent, if it is necessary for the child?s security or because the child needs support. The study was based on qualitative interviews with four contact persons and two professional social workers, whose main task have been to support and, partially, coordinate the work of contact persons. During the interviews I put the focus on participant?s experiences and thoughts about the phenomenon access support.

Site fidelity, the behaviour of animals to return to areas where they have been before is a common trait in many species. The Scandinavian moose is known to show fidelity to its range, but to what extent, is little known. The landscape in Sweden changes in a predictable and unpredictable way and hence gives the opportunity to test the existence of fidelity. I used the kernel Brownian bridge method to estimate the home ranges of individual moose over consecutive years and estimated the overlap at the home range level. I also used Euclidian distance to look on calving site fidelity.

Den insulinlika tillväxtfaktorn II (IGF II) är ett proteinhormon som reglerar cellers proliferation, tillväxt, migration, differentiering och överlevnad. Den utövar sin biologiska funktion via IGF I-receptorn. Dess tillgänglighet för bindning till IGF-1R regleras av en familj bestående av sex IGF-bindarproteiner (IGFBPs). IGF II kan också inducera mitos via en alternativt splitsad variant av insulinreceptorn (insulin receptor isoform A (IR-A)). The study has examined how some immigrants have managed to reestablish their professional careers in Sweden. Through in-depth-interviewing with six immigrant informants representing different genders, age and professional experience the process of successfully reestablishing a career within the same professional area in Sweden as in their native country is examined.The study looked at structural and individual possibilities and obstacles which affected the individual. In addition the study looked at the personal characteristics and strategies used by the informants to overcome and succeed in adapting and reestablishing their working life.  The study has drawn on human capital and social capital theory for a basic understanding of how education and skills affect. In addition the informants have surpassed structural barriers affecting many other immigrants.

Antalet tillgängliga IPv4-adresser håller i dagsläget på att ta slut och det ärdärför nödvändigt att hitta en metod för att migrera nätverket till den nyastandarden, IPv6. En migrering kan kräva att de två IP-versionerna måsteanvändas i nätverket simultant, för att de system som är beroende av nätverketska vara tillgängliga. Syftet med arbetet var att undersöka prestandani de olika migreringsteknikerna, samt att få fram vilka tekniker som är attföredra. Med hjälp av två scenarion, uppsatta i labbmiljö, testades migreringsteknikernasprestanda med verktyget Iperf. 6to4 och GRE testades iden ena miljön samt NAT64 och Teredo i den andra miljön.

Sex equality law within the European Union is well developed and has since the Rome Treaty, given rise to several directives and other judicial acts on this matter of community law. The concepts of direct and indirect discrimination emerge from the general principles of Equal pay and Equal treatment and have been codified and amended several times until present.The lasts years, authors within the field of Equality Law has been pointing out that there is a common desire for simplification of discrimination law in Europe. The question has arisen whether this simplification could be implemented trough the introduction of a general justification defence for direct sex discrimination.The concept of direct sex discrimination - when a person of one gender is treated less favourably, on the grounds of gender, than a person of the other gender would be treated in similar circumstances - leaves no possibilities for such justification today. Indirect sex discrimination ? which arises from the equal application of neutral rules that shows an adverse impact on one group ? can be justified if the rule answers to true requirements of the job.Does the proposition that direct discrimination should be justified find support in the inconsistency of the present legislation? This paper will examine this and other questions concerning the wish for a general justification defence through studies of case law from the European Court of Justice as well as differing opinions from authors within the field of equality law..

Syftet med vår uppsats har varit att undersöka anhöriga till missbrukares upplevelser av stöd och stödinsatser. Studien baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer med fem personer som alla har erfarenheter av att ha levt tillsammans med en person med alkohol- eller narkotikamissbruk. För att förstå våra informanters vardagsverklighet har vi analyserat resultatet utifrån symbolisk interaktionism som är ett perspektiv som syftar till att beskriva en social verklighet med fokus på samspelsprocesser. I vårt resultat har det framkommit att de anhöriga har påverkats och formats på många olika sätt av livet tillsammans med den med missbruksproblematiken. Ett återkommande och centralt begrepp i vårt resultat är begreppet skam som är en stark emotion som har påverkat våra informanter i deras vardagsverkligheter.

Mångfald och mångkulturella förhållanden nämns av Integrationsverket som viktiga inslag i det svenska samhället och man arbetar därför inom verket för att motverka etnisk diskriminering och rasism. Enligt Integrationsverket handlar frågan om etnisk mångfald ytterst om samhällets förmåga att leva upp till principen om allas lika värde oavsett etnisk, kulturell eller religiös bakgrund. Integrationsverket har en avgörande roll för integrationen i Sverige och centralt i verkets arbete är den etniska mångfalden och integrationen av utlandsfödda invånare. Nya invånare, som beviljats uppehållstillstånd, tilldelas av Integrationsverket en bok, ?Sverige ? en pocketguide?, med syfte att underlätta den första tiden i Sverige.

This thesis studies two instruments within EC-law, affecting asylum issues, the Schengen Convention and the Dublin Regulation. These instruments are developed as a result of the free movement of persons in the European Union, and the development of the free internal market. The member states are afraid of losing control of who is residing within their borders, as their border controls has been removed, and these instruments are made to protect the member states now that their own means of control are gone. The thesis explains the relationship between the free movement and asylum issues and shows the connection between them. Its focus is aimed at the free movement of workers and how the European court of justice has interpreted article 39 to increase the workers ability to move within the union.

The topic of this thesis is immigration policy in the European Union with focus on the Schengen cooperation and illegal immigration. Immigration policies and other policy areas such as asylum and refugee policies have become hot topics on the EU agenda in recent years. Partly because of cooperations like Schengen, but also because a need of a common immigration and asylum policy has emerged.The purpose of the thesis is to give a better understanding of the relations that might be found between illegal immigration to the EU and the Schengen cooperation. Schengen plays an important role in dealing with international migration in the EU and will probably continue to do so in the future.The thesis is a comparative case study with Spain and Germany as the two specific cases. Their national immigration policies are examined and put in relation to the Schengen cooperation.

Many children are being abused by daily basis. Mostely they are abused by a parent or another person that is close to the child. Mostely the child abuse never is reported to the social services or to the police, and even if the perpertrator is known, only a few cases are brought to prosecution. If a case allthough is drawn before the court of law, there are still too many of the perpetrators that are being acquitted. In other words, the legal security for the abused children is way too low.When suspiscions arise that a child is exposed to child abuse there are several inquiries that starts at the same time.

AbstractIn this bachelor thesis I discuss and analyse the current situation of the Venezuelan democracy. By using a theoretical framework based on the theory of horizontal accountability, I focus on the interaction between different institutions and branches within the state of Venezuela. The analysis focuses on the strenghts and flaws of the newly accepted constitution, and to what extent the institutions of checks and balances remain true to the laws and the constitution of 1999. My conclusions are that in terms of vertical accountability, the Chávez-regime acknowledges a wide popular support for their governmental actions. In contrast, the incumbent administration shows almost no respect for horizontal accountability.

This essay focuses on how trafficking is defined and dealt with in recent European policies,and particularly how prostitution take part of these discursive developments. Treaties andagreements on trafficking in human beings and for sexual exploitation have been made bythe European Union and United Nations amongst others, which have been signed andratified by the EU countries in Action Plans. In this essay, five national Actions Plans, fromAustria, Great Britain, Poland, Spain and Sweden between 2007 and 2009, have beencompared in order to see similarities and differences in how the phenomenon of traffickingis done through language. Based on Discourse theory and focus on discursive struggles, theresult show a hegemony around trafficking as a social issue in the Action Plans studied,exploiting humans, mainly children and women, sexually, but also how trafficking is framedas a problem of the nation state and the domestic labour market. It is also illustrated howdifferent meanings of prostitution make the trafficking discourse antagonistic and contested.Finally, the essay discusses the trafficking discourse in relation to EU strivings towardsharmonisation and power imbalances of migration and economy in Europe..
