This study explores whether environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues affect the monetary value of a company.The samples used in this study have been taken from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in South Africa. Since 2010, JSE have been categorizing companies using the King Code III criteria to establish a Socially Responsible Investment index (SRI index). Companies that fulfill the required number of criteria are classified as 'best performers' using the SRI index.  In this study the monetary value of a random sample of 'best performers' has been compared to the monetary value of a random sample of companies without an SRI index evaluation.This study found that companies without a SRI index have a higher unique risk, which means a lower stock price with a higher dividend yield. Companies with an SRI index evaluation have a lower unique risk, which means a higher stock price and lower dividend yield. In conclusion, this study shows that SRI adjusted companies have an enhanced monetary value in comparison to non- SRI adjusted companies..

This thesis aims to investigate the voting premium for companies differentiating voting rights between share classes on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The voting premium represents the value of a vote attached to the share. The voting premium can be estimated from the price premium between two listed share classes with differentiated voting rights. Rydqvist's dissertation (1987) serves as a model for this study which investigates whether the theory of the so called "oceanic games", along with a proxy variable for cost of control, can predict the voting premium during 2010-2012. To the original model developed by Rydqvist, control variables for differences in liquidity between share classes are added to investigate for an increase in the explanatory power.

Syftet med arbetetär att undersöka om Thermoprodukters verkliga processer stämmeröverens med Microsoft Dynamics NAV Process Flows.Genom att först göra en analys av Microsoft Dynamics NAV ProcessFlows har den tänkta arbetsprocessen identifierats. Sedan harThermoprodukters processer identifierats samt ritats upp i ett flödes-­??schema. För att slutligen kunna jämföra processerna och få ut ett resultatom dessa stämmer överens eller inte.Resultatet visar att processerna stämmer bra överens med varandra menatt det självklart finns skillnader då Thermoprodukter har en delspecialbyggda moduler..

BackgroundIncubators are important facilities for economic growth in society. The main purpose of incubators is to accelerate knowledge intensive firms onto their market by both providing resources and an entrepreneurial environment.Problem Companies within incubators are encouraged to share knowledge and experience with each other with the goal to stimulate development and invention of new technology. This exchange involves interaction on an inter-personal and inter-organizational level. Incubators need to create an open and transparent environment in order to enable this exchange on both levels.Purpose The purpose of this study is to enhance the understanding of how knowledge and experience exchange occurs within the context of incubator systems. By understanding how incubators can capture knowledge and learn from the incubator process, this study can contribute by insights of how the incubator process can be further improved.Method This bachelor thesis is written from an abductive approach and is based on a qualitative case study of Ideon Innovation in Lund.

Vi har i detta arbete undersökt om det går att använda datorn som ett pedagogiskt hjälpmedel i NO-ämnena, år 4-9, utan att ha specialprogram. Vi har utgått från Microsoft Office 97 och studerat följande frågeställningar: Hur kan det utnyttjas? Är det möjligt att hinna sätta sig in i det inom en vanlig lärartjänst? Går det att skapa en pedagogisk resurs av datorerna utan specialprogram? För att få svar på våra frågeställningar har vi studerat litteratur för att se vad som menas med en pedagogisk resurs. Vi har läst om olika inlärningsteorier och om hur datorn används idag. Vi har dessutom gjort 6 applikationer i programmen Access, Excel och PowerPoint och skrivit en lärarhandledning till dessa för att intresserade ska kunna göra dem själva.

About 35 years ago the WHO advocated that countries with injecting drug users should introduce the so-called needle exchange programs (NEP) to curb the spread of infection by blood-borne diseases. In Sweden the first NEP started 1985 in Lund, but the program was extremely controversial in a country with such a restrictive drug policy like Sweden.The study you are about to read shall process this controversy, when a NEP opened in Stockholm, by analyzing the articles published in the newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet. By using discourse analysis as a processing tool we?ll try to see the difference between the two chosen newspapers. We will identify and analyze the different participant?s, such as doctors, politicians, user associations and media, arguments in the needle exchange issue.

Periods of hypoxia are a recurring issue in Brunnsviken. Main factors that trigger hypoxia in Brunnsviken are eutrophication  due to anthropogenic emission of nutrients, stratification in the water column due to salinity and temperature differences  that prevents mixing and a sill inlet that prevents water exchange. As an attempt to improve the oxygen levels, bottom water is pumped from Brunnsviken causing aerated surface water to flow back into the basin.  The objective of this Master?s thesis was to study the change in dissolved oxygen levels due to pumping.

Denna rapport beskriver ett examensarbete som gjorts vid Linköpings Universitet under hösten 2012 och våren 2013. Arbetet gick ut på att utforska de olika interaktionsmöjligheterna för Microsoft Kinect samt vad man själv kan utveckla till denna plattform. I detta arbete gjordes en förstudie för att utröna existerande metoder och hur dessa fungerar. Utifrån denna studie formulerades en frågeställning enligt nedan.Hur kan man använda Microsoft Kinect för att identifiera fysiska objekt på en yta?Kan vi använda Kinect för att klassificera objekt?Kan vi utveckla en produkt som kan användas i hemmet?Metoden för att svara på dessa frågor innefattar skapandet av ett scenario där Kinecten kan användas för objektidentifiering.

We acknowledge the lack of empirical studies of the performance of analyst target prices in the Swedish stock market by examining the profitability of target prices for stocks publicly traded on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. We use consensus target prices issued between 2006-2010 and create two different strategies to observe the abnormal returns generated during this period. Going long in the top decile stocks with the best target prices and going short in the bottom decile stocks with the worst target prices generates a statistically significant abnormal buy-and-hold return of 8.9%. An active strategy with daily portfolio rebalancing and a timely response to target price changes generates a less significant monthly alpha of 1.4% against CAPM. The results show to be robust against the size effect discovered by Fama and French.

En viktig aspekt vid e-handel är att kunden känner förtroende för e-handelsapplikationen och företaget. Denna rapport redogör för vilken inverkan multimediala inslag har för förtroendet av en e-handelsapplikation, vid initialt användande. En undersökning har genomförts med hjälp av en kooperativ utvärdering av fyra e-handelsapplikationer vilka innehåller olika typer av multimediala inslag har.Resultatet av undersökningen visar att multimediala inslag inverkar positivt på förtroendet för e-handelsapplikationer. Däremot finns indikationer på att för hög grad av multimedialt inslag inverkar negativt på förtroendet för e-handelsapplikationer..

I dagens företag och organisationer med flera tusen datoranvändare ställs stora krav på IT-avdelningarna som administrerar detta. Denna lösning är inte ekonomiskt lönsam för företag med en mindre organisation, syftet med rapporten är att visa ett alternativ till denna lösning som är ekonomiskt försvarbar för företag med färre än 1000 anställda. Den här magisteruppsatsen analyserar domen mot Microsoft i EG-domstolens första instans. Domen fastställde att Microsoft genom användningen av kopplingsförbehåll, missbrukat sin dominerande ställning enligt artikel 82 i EG-fördraget. Kopplingsförbehållet i det aktuella fallet bestod i att Microsoft uteslutande sålde två separata produkter tillsammans, operativsystemet Windows och mediaspelaren Windows Media Player. Före Microsoft-fallet tillämpades inom EG-rätten ett per se-förbud mot kopplingsförbehåll, vilket innebar att de automatiskt ansågs olagliga utan att effekterna av det individuella kopplingsförbehållet utreddes. Kopplingsförbehållet i Microsoft-fallet ansågs däremot ha en så komplicerad karaktär att en vidare utredning var nödvändig.

A further purpose is to investigate what barriers they have faced and how this affected their information behavior. Six qualitative interviews of students constitute the empirical foundation for the study. The interviewees are from six different European countries, were all participating in the Erasmus program, and all had social sciences/humanities/art as their main subject.
