SAMMANFATTNING Norra älvstranden har sedan industrialiseringen på 1800-talet varit ett område för varvsindustri och blev under 1900-talet en av de viktigaste hamnarna i Skandinavien.Under de tre senaste decennierna har varvsindustrin här gått från framgång till kris och avveckling. I mitten av 1980-talet påbörjades arbetet med en omvandling av norra älvstranden från varvsindustri till en stadsdel med en blandning av olika funktioner,såsom verksamheter,bostäder,handel,service och kultur. Projektet delades in i flera etapper,varav Frihamnen är en etapp som ännu inte utvecklats. Förbindelserna mellan norra och södra älvstranden samt mellan norra älvstranden och centrala delarna på Hisingen aktualiseras ytterligare i och med förändringarna på norra älvstranden.För att integrera de ?nya ? stadsdelarna med centrala Göteborg krävs gena,säkra och effektiva stråk som binder samman stadsdelarna. Arbetet med dessa förbindelser är en viktig förutsättning för Göteborgs framtida utveckling. I detta projekt studeras,utifrån en så kallad Space Syntaxanalys,hur Frihamnen kan integreras med city och de centrala delarna på Hisingen samt vilken betydelse ökade förbindelser över Göta älv har för integreringen av och mellan dessa områden.Space Syntaxanalysen kan kort beskrivas som en renodlad rumslig analys som studerar det fysiska rummets konfigurering i en stad.Detta innebär att analysen fokuserar på relationerna mellan rummen och inte på rummen i sig.Enligt upphovsmannen till teorin,Bill Hillier,avgör det fysiska rummets konfigurella egenskaper uppkomsten för socialt liv.Detta projekt beskriver,redovisar och diskuterar även teorin som analysmetod och planeringsinstrument. Som vägledning genom studien ges här en läshänvisning av de olika delarna i dokumentet.Del I redogör för arbetets syfte och bakgrund samt beskriver områdets historik och förutsättningar.Del II beskriver Space Syntax som teori och metod.Del III diskuterar Space Syntax som analys-och planeringsinstrument samt visar analyser av olika planstrukturer över Frihamnen.Del IV redovisar planförslaget med de nya kopplingarna.Del V ger kommentarer och drar slutsatser kring arbetet med och studien av teorin Space Syntax..

This report describes how I worked with a spatial information problem, where the focus was to produce clearer barriers between horses and spectators at equestrian competitions. My background as a competition rider, combined with my knowledge of the spatial design, has caused me to react to how the information on riding and racing facilities deficiencies. Experienced people in the riding know how they should act with the horse. But novices who are unfamiliar with the situation is not aware of the risks it may pose to move among horses. The study was conducted on the national facility Strömsholm which both experienced and novice equestrian visits.

I studien undersöks hur införandet av ett systematiskt arbetsmiljöarbete kan påverka en organisation. Många arbetsplatser saknar ett fungerande systematiskt arbetsmiljöarbete, men alla företag är beroende av att personalen mår bra och får vara frisk och därmed kan vara effektiv på sitt arbete. För att öka läsarens förståelse för hur betydelsefullt det är att arbeta aktivt med arbetsmiljöarbete, vill vi visa organisationer hur de genom detta kan uppnå vinster, inte bara de av rent monetär art, utan även de som är av betydande vikt för arbetstagarna, såsom exempelvis ökad trivsel och bättre gemenskap. Studien är av kvalitativ karaktär med en interaktiv forskningsprocess. Urvalet har bestått av respondenter på Copy Syd AB.

This paper examines the impact of the congruence between the background music and the brand image on the customer behaviour in retail store. The essay's hypotheses are built after the famous S-O-R-model that unveils if congruence background music affects the customers' emotions, brand image and response. The aim of the study is mainly to answer if the congruent background music stimuli in the retail store environment will affect the customer's emotions and if it will increase spent time and money. The congruent background music has been selected through two pre-studies based on consumers' brand image. A quantitative study has been conducted where triangulation was applied in a real store environment, where in total 201 surveys was collected for the main study.

Scientific research shows that humans regain their strength when they are spending time in nature. Ulrich, Kaplan & Kaplan, among others, has shown in their research that nature can reduce stress and decrease the after effects of stress. Lund University Hospital, USiL, is a big working place and has a large number of patients. To be a patient often means that you lose control of your daily life which could cause stress. For the personnel high workload can be a stress factor.

Vellinge är både centralorten i Vellinge kommun och en bostadsförort till Malmö. Orten består till stor del av villabebyggelse. Vellinges expansion kan härledas till två viktiga händelser där den första var järnvägen drogs in till Vellinge. Järnvägen skapade nya förutsättningar för industrier, handel och framförallt nya kommunikationer. Den andra händelsen var bilens starka intåg under 50-talet. Bilen skapade möjligheten att röra sig över längre sträckor vilket också resulterade i att utbyggnaden av Vellinge bredde ut sig över större ytor. Utbredningen nådde sin topp under 70-talet då Vellinge fördubblades i storlek. I centrum genomfördes under samma tid en modernisering där nya centrumbyggnader och stora parkeringsytor anlades.

Detta arbete har tagit fokus på en ännu outforskad företeelse i svensk kommunal planeringspraktik, nämligen något som här kallas ?konsultplanering?, det vill säga konsultmedverkan i den kommunala planeringen. Uppsatsen har avgränsats till att handla om ?planeringskonsulter? och konsultuppdrag som konkret handlar om planering och inte olika utredningar etc. som i och för sig också ingår i planeringsprocessen och ofta utförs av konsulter. Ämnet är intressant eftersom det idag är vanligt i de flesta av Sveriges län att kommunerna använder sig av konsulter. Studiens syfte är att studera den ökande konsultplaneringen i den svenska kommunala planeringspraktiken, samt dess positiva respektive negativa konsekvenser för planeringssystemet.

The national spatial planning guidelines and the subsequent legal regulation in the Natural Resources Act and the Environmental Code has been a part of the Swedish planning system for almost 40 years. In the recent years, critics have claimed that the regulations are outdated and does not work the way it was intended. This paper examines closer why it is perceived that the regulations does not work, with a focus on how the national interests are managed in the municipal planning. Why is the national interests not applied in the municipal planning as intended? Is the error in the system or in the implementation of it? The aim of this essay is to study the gap between theory and practice by studying how the land management provisions in the Environmental Code is applied in five selected municipalities. The aim is also to find interesting issues for futher studies of the topic.

AbstractComing to new job is not that easy, sometimes the feeling of insecurity appears. Working for recruitment agencies includes constant changes of colleagues and places of work and at the same time one has two different managers. Who does the individual turn to when problems occur and who do the employed see as his/her manager? Why do people search for work in recruitment agencies? How does it feel not having a fixed place of work or colleagues and how do the aspects of this affect the employed psychosocial work environment? This is a few questions asked when we tried to find answers on the employed feelings about his/hers psychosocial work environment in a recruitment agency. The purpose of this study was to find a deeper understanding on employees working in a recruitment agency experiences their psychosocial work environment on the basis of social support, demands and control.

The aim of this study was to investigate and analyze what is required for the environmental quality objective Good built environment to be fulfilled by 2020 in the Swedish county Jämtland. The focus of the study was to gain an understanding of the work that the local government does and further investigate the problems that the officials face with implement these questions in themunicipal planning.The study is based on semi structured interviews with officials in the municipalities of Jämtland county. General plan and programs for the municipality have been reviewed, based on how the plans highlights these issues linked to sustainability and Good built environment.The results of the study show that there are major problems with the formulations of the environmental quality goal in itself and its specifications. The environmental quality goal is formulated to suit the entire Sweden. But as it turns out in the analysis it does not work on the basis of the conditions inJämtland with sparsely populated areas and scattered dwellings.

The following chapters examine landscape architecture which engages in contested territories with an emphasis on the way in which landscape architecture can engage with the issues of divided cities or landscapes with similar social, cultural and physical properties. The project focuses specifically on the potential landscape architecture has for promoting or aiding in the reconciliation process of these areas, by examining the following questions. How can landscape architecture be used to benefit the peace building process of divided cities and landscapes? How can landscape architecture be used in the process of promoting spatial reconciliation in the case of Belfast? The investigation begins with a description of the background to the project in Chapter 1, which functions as a brief introduction to the urban phenomena that is divided cities. It then goes on to introduce the different methods and data employed in order to answer the research questions in Chapter 2. After introducing the problem and the methodology, a global overview of divided cities is performed in Chapter 3. This chapter is divided into two sections.

Background: Sleeping is a condition that is necessary for all people because the body isgiven time to recover. Studies have shown that patients found it difficult to sleep during thehospital stay and it turned out to be several factors that disturbed the sleep during the night.The nurse should note the patient?s need for sleep and take into account environmental andother sleep disturbances to be able to implement nursing interventions. Purpose: The purposeof this study was to elucidate the factors that interfere with patient?s sleep duringhospitalization and nursing care to promote the patient?s ability to sleep.

Examensarbetet handlar om utveckling av de centrala delarna samt stationsområdet i Vårgårda tätort, Vårgårda kommun. Syftet med arbetet har varit att förtäta med ny bebyggelse i de centrala delarna av tätorten samt att effektivisera ytan och området vid stationen. Arbetet är tänkt att kunna användas som ett idéunderlag av kommunen för deras framtida utveckling av tätorten. Litteraturstudier har gjorts kring ämnet stationssamhällen och en inventering av planområdet har gjorts. Som analysmetoder har jag använt mig av Kevin Lynch, SWOT-analys, en enkel bebyggelseinventering för att skapa riktlinjer för ny bebyggelse samt även besök på orterna Herrljunga och Uddevalla, där jag studerat lösningar på stationsområdena för att se hur dessa orter löst problemen med de nya funktioner som måste irnymmas på ett äldre stationsområde.

In 2005 Gunhild Eriksdotter published Behind The Facades in which she analyses the ways of approaching historical buildings in archaeology. Eriksdotter emphasizes that the archaeology of buildings is in dire need of renewal videlicet the traditional outlook on buildings as two-dimensional objects need to change. She develops a method of analysing the spatial dimensions in a three-dimensional world. By fusing theories and methods in excavating archaeology and architecture, she is able to give us a new way of approaching buildings. Her method includes the analysing of a buildings material, spatiality and use.
