The aim of this study was to examine how individuals with disability pension reason about a return to work. Action theory, as presented by Berglind, was used as theoretical approach. Qualitative interviews were conducted with five individuals who have disability pension due to mental illness. The respondents describe how they weigh benefits and disadvantages against each other. The main reason for a return to work is economical.

Syftet med denna studie var att erhålla kunskap om individens syn på den mentala arbetsmiljön. Dessutom var syftet att utreda ett eventuellt samband mellan acceptans av IT-systemet och den individuella effektiviteten i callcenterarbete. Tidigare forskning hävdar att högre användbarhet, som är en del av användaracceptansen, hos systemet höjer effektiviteten i utnyttjandet. TAM påstår att de två delarna användarvänlighet och användbarhet har en grundläggande betydelse för användaracceptansen (Davis, 1986). Ett callcenter är en komplex arbetsplats där personalen hanterar olika IT-system, ofta under tidspress.

Yrkesgruppen artister har tidigare rapporterat höga testpoäng vid mätning av neuroticism, vilket yttrar sig i upplevd sämre fysisk hälsa och låg självutvärdering av prestation. Den longitudinella populationsstudiens generella syfte var att undersöka neuroticism i relation till sångteknik och hälsa under 3.5 år hos operastudenter. Högre registret, lägre registret, sjunga piano, egalisering och uthållighet respektive röstlig-, fysisk- och mental hälsa undersöktes. Enkäter utformade för självrapportering användes (EPQ, KSP, STAI och 2 specialkonstruerade enkäter). Resultaten visade att rapportering av sångteknik och rösthälsa förbättrades signifikant, men att kroppshälsa och mental hälsa inte förbättrades signifikant över tid.

Studies show that some pupils with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) can have difficulties in understanding written texts. The present study seeks to examine whether pupils with ASD differ in their reading comprehension of a factual text and a literary text. Another aim of the study is to obtain a picture of the reading habits of high school pupils with ASD, what reading strategies they use, and how they work with texts in Swedish lessons in school.The study uses texts from PISA surveys from 2009 and 2000. The factual text Varmluftsballongen (The Hot-air Balloon) was taken from the try-out for the 2009 survey and the literary text Gåvan (The Gift) was taken from the 2000 PISA survey. To gain some idea of the pupils? reading comprehension of the texts, the present study used the tasks accompanying the texts, with certain changes in the questions about the text on the hot-air balloon.

The aim of this study was to describe and understand how individuals in adulthood experienced a childhood with neglect, and how they handled neglect. In order to reach the perspective of the individuals who grew up with neglect, we chose to use autobiographical books as our empirical material. The criteria the autobiographies had to meet in order to fall within the scope of this study was that the biographies had to display the experience of neglect during childhood, and thereto the books had to be written by individuals who themselves experienced neglect. Based on the aim of this study we sought answers to three questions: How do the individuals describe their upbringing with a mentally or socially disabled parent? How have the individuals coped with the neglect they?ve been exposed to? What consequences have the neglect supposedly led to? The findings of this study show that the extent to which the individuals experienced neglect were profound and comprising.

Studier av exekutiva förmågor har visat lägre resultat för unga vuxna födda för tidigt, prematurt, jämfört med jämnåriga födda i fullgången tid. Föreliggande studies syfte var att undersöka ordflödestest som indikator på olika aspekter av exekutiv förmåga samt att utröna vilka förmågor som krävs för verbalt flöde. Resultat på ordflödestest för kontrollgrupp och prematurgrupp, samt inom prematurgruppen, jämfördes. Samvariation med andra exekutiva mått från 18-årsuppföljningen i Stockholm Neonatal Project undersöktes. Antal deltagare var för prematurgruppen 134 och kontrollgruppen 94, totalt 228 testpersoner.

Twice as many women as men suffer from mental ill-health. The negative trend of mental problems among teenagers continues. In certain places in Sweden, 40 per cent of the teenage girls have outspoken symptoms of depression. This is why it is important to observe mental ill-health in a public health perspective. One effect evaluation of the DISA method (Depression In Swedish Adolescents) drew the conclusion that this universal depression preventive method is well working. The DISA method includes cognitive behavioural techniques that change negative pattern of thinking, give practice of communication, strategies of problem solution plus exercises to strengthen the social network.

Syftet med denna examensuppsats var att undersöka och beskriva svenska stridspiloters upplevda mentala hälsa. En enkät utformades bestående av ett skattningsbatteri med frågor om sömn och trötthet, OSLO-3, CAGE, HADS, frågor om fysiska symptom, GHQ-12 och SRE. Enkäten skickades ut till 129 JAS 39 piloter i ordinarie tjänst vid flygdivisioner i Försvarsmakten och Förvarets Materielverk (FMV). Resultatet visade att 77% av piloterna i studien bedömdes ha symptom på mild depression och 46% hade symptom på mild ångest. De flesta av de deltagande piloterna hade inte några alkoholrelaterade problem och 83% uppgav att de hade lätta fysiska besvär.ANOVA-analysen visade att de deltagande piloterna på utbildningsförbandet i medeltal hade signifikant högre poäng på GHQ-12 än piloterna på insatsförbanden.

Chronic illness is associated with conditions that may result in psychological ill-health in the adolescence. Consequently there is a need for development of preventive psychosocial support interventions for this target group. The objective was to develop, implement, and evaluate the effect of supportive intervention group program for teenagers suffering from chronic illness - aiming at increasing quality of life and supporting mental and physical health. Method: Six different intervention groups were conducted between 2007 and 2011, age 13?17.

ABSTRACT Background: Health and ill-health are multifaceted concepts. Previous research has shown that physical activity and the level of cardio respiratory are important parts of leading a healthy lifestyle. Possibly, it?s so important that the Occupational Health Service should focus even more on this.Aim: The aim was to investigate if there was a relationship between the level of cardio respiratory fitness and self-rated health, and between the level of cardio respiratory fitness and physical and mental ill-health.Method: The study was conducted using a quantitative method in the form of a cross sectional study. Data was collected from an Occupational Health Service, containing answers to a questionnaire on work environment and health and test values ??from completed cycle fitness tests.

Mental ill-health has increased in the community and especially among young people. Stress is considered as a conduciveness cause to the increasing mental ill-health and stress can lead to angst, worry, depression etcetera. The purpose with this study is to investigate how school nurses and welfare officers in high schools within defines and works with stress among the youths. The study also investigates how the school nurses and the welfare officers work to prevent stress in the schools and if there is cooperation between the two professions. The study is based on a social constructive perspective and a system-thinking.

Syftet med föreliggande studie är att undersöka i hur några BVC-sjuksköterskor arbetar för att belysa och upptäcka postpartum depression hos nyblivna pappor. Studiens empiriska material bygger på en kvalitativ metod i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Totalt har åtta BVC-sjuksköterskor intervjuats, varav sju av intervjuerna har använts för att presentera studiens resultat. Uppsatsens teoretiska referensram utgörs av Travelbees omvårdnadsteori, Von Bertalanffys generella systemteori samt Antonovskys KASAM. Resultatet visar bland annat att BVC-sjuksköterskorna inte aktivt arbetar för att belysa och upptäcka postpartum depression hos nyblivna pappor, men att några av dem i enstaka fall har erbjudit pappan en EPDS-screening eller pappasamtal.

The presence of cystic ovarian follicles represents an important ovarian dysfunction and is a major cause of reproductive failure in dairy cattle. A cystic ovarian follicle is a persistent follicular-like structure on one or both of the ovaries. It is at least 2,5cm in diameter and it has to persist for at least ten days while a corpus luteum is missing. There are two kinds of cystic ovarian follicles, those who have a progesterone production and those who have not. A clear definition for this condition is lacking, probably because the heterogeneity of the clinical signs and the complexity of the disorder.

Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva patienters psykiska hälsa efter en hjärtinfarkt.Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie. Sökorden myocardial infarction, mental health, experience, psychological health och quality of life kombinerades för att hitta artiklar. Arton artiklar inkluderades i studien och hittades i databaserna PubMed och Cinahl och genom andra artiklars referenslista. Undersökningarna i artiklarna var genomförda med intervjuer, enkäter och observationer. Resultatet visade att män upplevde en bättre hälsorelaterad livskvalitet än kvinnor samt att kvinnors psykiska hälsa påverkades mer efter en hjärtinfarkt.
