En intensiv förändringsprocess har kunnat identifieras runt om i Sveriges kommuner där en rad reformer genomförts i syfte att skapa forum för ökat medborgerligt deltagande. Syftet är att på så vis stärka demokratin på lokal nivå. I Halmstads kommun arbetar man med medborgerligt deltagande i flera projekt, Framtid Oskarström är ett av dem. Det finns dock en spänning i debatten kring om den lokala demokratin stärks genom att arbeta med medborgerligt deltagande. Omfattande kritik har riktats mot det deltagardemokratiska idealet, ändå arbetar Sveriges kommuner intensivt med att öka det medborgerliga deltagandet i politiska projekt och processer mellan de allmänna valen.Denna uppsats har två stycken syften.

We have studied the differences between people debating on a program in apublic service-channel and a privately-owned channel. We have chosen thetwo biggest debate programs, Kvällsöppet in the privately-owned channelTV4 and Debatt in the public service-channel SVT 1. We have in aquantitative content analysis studied female and male, how many of each thatare participating, how long time they talk in the program and in what rolethey have in the debate. We have studied 10 episodes of Kvällsöppet thespring season 2010 and compared with Johanna Paulsson & Patrik Rosellstudy ?30/70.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att identifiera gemensamma mönster av friskfaktorer hos långtidsfrisk administrativ personal på Högskolan Väst. Begreppet långtidsfrisk betyder i sammanhanget två års utebliven sjukfrånvaro med en anställning på tre år. Undersökningen syftar även till att utforska arbetets och fritidens betydelse för långtidsfriskheten hos personalen. Dessa syften skall uppfyllas med hjälp av en fenomenologisk ansats som innebär att fenomen undersöks utifrån de medverkande respondenternas berättelser av sin livsvärld. Till hjälp för analysen av data har ett verktyg använts vid namn Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) som tillämpas genom en systematisk genomgång av transkriptionen.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to examine literature on current media events. We see a close relationship between this literature and the media society where we relate Manuel Castells theory of the network society. In this thesis we have chosen books which give different views on three major media events in Sweden: 1 the assassination of Anna Lindh, the former Swedish Minister for foreign Affairs; 2 the Knutby murder and; 3 the Tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia. These books combine fact and fiction in their writing which in media science is called faction. This form of writing has similarities to genres like new journalism and documentarism and can be problematic for the reader in terms of genre expectations because of the mix of fact and fiction.

Citizens are in need of information to form an opinion about how society works. As a reviewer of the Public power the media plays an important role in a democratic society. The communicative power shift appears in contemporary media landscape, where technology offers great opportunities for actors to use their own channels to communicate their own image and thereby influencing power over the agenda. Alongside this, the number of communicators is increasing which makes power of resources affects the communicative whole picture. The study is based on a media profile case of the described assault and looks at what can happen strategic communicative at a police department when journalism offers a negative image.

Kamratposten is a swedish magazine aimed at youth aged 8-14. They write about almost everything that concerns youth, all the way from dealing with loneliness to animals and celebrities. This study concentrates at how they write about love. With a qualitiative narrative analysis of the 12 articles that concerns love from the 2013 issues of Kamratposten, I have tried to answer the questions: - What narratives about love are being constructed in Kamratposten 2013?- How do they construct males, females and gender in their articles about love?What I found was that the hetero normativity, or the heterosexual matrix as Judith Butler calls it, was very strong in the articles.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how LKAB are portrayed in the newspaper Dagens Nyheter (DN). The methods that were used were: Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) combined with Critical Linguistic Analysis. These were used since they help to reveal the structures and unconscious meaning and power of word. It gives the tools to see how authority, power and meaning of words are constructed during social practice of the way they are used. To complement the method the theories that?s used are discourse analysis since CDA is both a method and a theory.

I vårt samhälle kan den smala kvinnliga kroppen uppfattas spegla attraktivitet, status, lycka och hälsa. Massmedia har starka influenser på denna kroppsdiskurs, då det sprids budskap om att ju mer kroppen liknar det smala kroppsidealet desto högre är dess värde. Den här studien syftar till att kartlägga och jämföra fysiska aktivitetsvanor och uppfattningar om kroppen samt samhällets kroppsnormer hos flickor på två kroppsfokuserande gymnasieinriktningar. Studien har utförts enligt en tvärsnittsdesign med en kvantitativ metod. Antalet medverkande var 101 flickor som studerade inom fysisk träning respektive skönhet och mode.

2012 was the year when the podcast had a breakthrough in Sweden. As media corporatehouses developed, they adopted new forms to mediate journalistic material, whereas the podcasts was one of them. The podcast has had a rather informal reputation in Sweden in contrary to The United States and Great Britain, where it holds a higher sense of prestige and professionalism. It is therefore relevant to investigate what happens when media corporatehouses i Sweden embraces the podcast through themes such as tabloidization, commercialism, convergence and divergence. We chose to investigate the content of the podcast in the tabloid press Aftonbladet, and in the serious press, Dagens Nyheter.

The objective of this study was to investigate differences in the portrayal of Western European citizens and non Western European citizens in Hergé?s graphic novels about the young journalist Tintin. We wanted to see if the globalization during the mid 1900?s had an effect on Hergé?s way of portraying the world. We started off by selecting nine novels from three different periods of time, though we read all of the novels in The Adventures of Tintin.

Den svenska veteranutredningen lyfter upp mediabilden från Sveriges deltagande i internationella insatser som ett problem. Syftet med uppsatsen är att kartlägga skillnaderna i rapporteringen av händelserna under Operation Artemis i Kongo 2003 utifrån Försvarsmakten och de fyra största dagstidningarna (Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheter, Expressen och Svenska Dagbladet) samt att undersöka om rapporteringen skiljer sig beroende av om det är en morgontidning eller kvällstidning. Analysen har gjorts utifrån ett narrativt perspektiv och tidningarna har analyserats utifrån kategorierna dagstidningsekonomi, sensationsjournalistik, objektivitet, vinkling och förenkling. Uppsatsen visar på att det finns skillnader i hur både Försvarsmakten och dagstidningarna rapporterade från Operation Artemis. Uppsatsen visar också på att rapporteringen skiljer sig om det är en morgontidning eller kvällstidning som skriver artikeln.

In this study we have investigated how local journalists in Kalmar think when they choose their sources to interview. We have also studied several factors that can affect their choices of sources.We have interviewed eight news journalists from the two largest local news papers Barometern and Östran in Kalmar.The journalists were asked about the sources they often use as interview objects. They were supposed to tell about how they think when choosing sources and define which sources they commonly use. There are different factors that can affect the choices and we have narrowed them down to ethics, source critics, credibility, stress, hard production conditions, public and their own interest and if they consider themselves to be individualistic or controlled by the news desks. Furthermore the journalists were asked to characterize what changes they would make when choosing sources in a perfect world.All of the journalists had not reflected prominently on the subject of sources before our research.

The purpose of this essay is to examine and compare the news covering of Swedens three biggest cities (the metropolitan areas) and their surrounding areas with the covering of the rest of the country (the provincial areas) in two daily national newspapers, Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter. The aim has been to answer the following questions:- What amount of the news coverage in Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter concern the metropolitan areas compared to the provincial areas, and how do these two newspapers differ in the news covering of these areas?- Is there a difference in the news articles size and content, depending on weather they concern the metropolitan or the provincial areas?- How has the balance between news concerning metropolitan and provincial areas changed over the recent 20 years?The theories used in this study are News values, the media commercialization and Popular Journalism, and The Agenda Setting Theory. The method that has been used is a Quantitative Content Analysis.Despite the essays hypothesis, that the news coverage in the two newspapers would be dominated by material from the metropolitan areas, the result showed that a majority of the examined articles concern the provincial areas. It also showed that Aftonbladet has a bigger percentage of provincial news than Dagens Nyheter.

Syftet med denna studie är att samla kunskap om lärares uppfattningar om och värdering av estetiska uttrycksformer i undervisningen. Studiens empiriska material har samlats in genom en kvalitativ intervjustudie där åtta lärare på sex olika skolor har intervjuats. De medverkande lärarna arbetar alla på lågstadiet i samma kommun och har ansvar för en egen klass. Lärarna har inte behövt speciella kompetenser eller behörigheter inom de estetiska uttrycksformerna för att delta i studien och informanternas ålder och kön har inte haft någon betydelse.Resultaten i studien visar att lärarna uppfattar de estetiska uttrycksformerna som lustfyllda och stimulerande för eleverna. Vidare framkommer det att de estetiska uttrycksformerna i stor utsträckning uppfattas som verktyg för att främja lärandet i skolans andra ämnen.
