This report contains a programming improvement work in a LabVIEW? fire testing furnace control system for SP Fire Technology in Borås. Here materials and products behaviour are tested and evaluated, being exposed to fire. For this task, UGNET is being used for control and surveillance of the testing furnace system. System hardware has been updated gradually through the years, while the software has been neglected.

The task in this thesis is the steering of one of Saab Bofors Dynamics robots using Sliding Mode Control, a method they never used before. The robot constitutes a system which in addition to perturbations and uncertainties due to modeling imprecision, hold the difficulty of being highly time variant. In order to be able to keep required performance with uncertainties and modeling imprecision present, the use of robust control methods like Sliding Mode Control is necessary. SMC is based on the states of the system being forced to stay on or in the direct vicinity of a hyper plane in the state space which is chosen in a way that gives the system dynamics desired properties. Other advantages with sliding mode are reduced order dynamics on the switching surface and total insensitivity to some uncertainties and perturbations.

Mobiltelefoner är idag en het teknologi och det blir fler och fler företag som väljer att presentera sig själva även mobilt för att på så sätt nå fler kunder. På marknaden finns en mängd av olika typer av mobiler vilket kan orsaka svårigheter för ett företag att komma ut med sin mobilapplikation då olika typer av mobiler ställer olika tekniska och kunskapskrav på företaget som utvecklar applikationen. En alternativ lösning kan vara en hybridmobilapplikation som gör det möjligt att ta fram applikationer för olika typer av mobilenheter baserad på samma kod-bas.I denna rapport har jag tagit fram en prototyp av en hybridmobilapplikation för ett BI konsultbolag. Applikationen skapades i enlighet med Kanban metodologi och använde sig av ramverket Ionic. Den skapade mobilapplikationen presenterar ekonomisk data i form av tabeller och diagram och har även interaktiva delar.

AbstractWe live in a world today that is characterized by the Internet. We can get hold of people on the other side of the globe whenever we want and we can purchase what ever we want, from who ever we want, anytime we want. This development has made it important to find systems of dealing with the payment in a safe and secure way, both for a private person as well as for a company, when you do transactions with people far away, and those systems is the core of this essay. As a private person you sometimes need to transfer money to family members who live abroad and you can then use clean payments. This means that banks all over the world has systems which makes it easier when their customs wishes to transfer money abroad.

This thesis presents an adaptive tuning system that can be described as a dynamic Just Intonation tuning system, being compatible with equally tempered instruments. The tuning system is called Hermode Tuning (HMT) and the tuning used as comparison for evaluation is the standardized western tuning, the equal tempered tuning. This study investigates preferences for these two musical tuning systems, depending on whether the tunings are presented on a piano or with woodwind instruments. A listening test was done with students at the Falun Conservatory of Music, including both a vertical listening (intervalls) and a horizontal listening (cadenses and musical compositions) of Hermode tuned musical material. Overall the results showed no significant preferences for either tuning system irrespectively of what instrument it was presented with.

AbstractIn the fall of 2003 a project was started in the Swedish building sector that is called BASTA (the building sectors’ termination of especially harmful substances). The project is operated by the building companies NCC, Skanska, PEAB and JM, the Swedish Building Industry and the Swedish Environmental Institute IVL. The purpose of the project is to create a common environmental assessment system for the entire building industry and with the help of this system phase out the use of especially harmful properties from building products.In a large sense BASTA works like this; On the BASTA web site there is a database, to which a supplier can register the company and the company’s products. Only those products with a substance content that fulfil the demands of the BASTA system, is to be registered. As it is the supplier himself that carries out the registration of the company and the company’s products to the system, the BASTA-organisation annually controls that the companies that are registered in the database, fulfils BASTA’s demands.Since NCC is one of the companies that operates BASTA, BASTA is probably going to be the environmental assessment system that is recommended for the company in the future.

Many IT projects that have been developed in recent years are often considered to be unsuccessful. According to a study by Exido up to the 72% of all IT projects are considered to be failed. A failed IT projects means that the organizations that have ordered the new system may have higher costs or/and the system will not be ready in time. If costs are too high the new system might not be installed in the organization or if the system is not completed within the specified time frame the organization can become stagnant.In this paper we conduct an investigation of the failure of IT projects there we will examine where, in the systems development lifecycle four different phases, projects fail. We will conduct an empirical study of each phase, where we describe the key steps in the process; we will also investigate failed IT projects that are linked to the current phase.

För att uppnå konkurrenskraft och tillväxt behöver företag tillgångar. Dessa kan finansieras genom leasing eller förvärv. Beroende på ett företags strategiska inriktning kan finansieringsmetoderna vara olika fördelaktiga. Ett företag kan vidare delas in i tre olika nivåer baserat på vilket tidsperspektiv som är i fokus vid beslutsfattande. Syftet med studien är att förklara varför företag väljer en finansieringsmetod som inte ligger i linje med den strategiska inriktningen.

This report describes the development and implementation of a system for transmitting digital information at high speeds from a miniaturized submersible developed by the Ångström Space Technology Centre at Uppsala University. For instance, the vehicle shall transmit image data ? even stream live video - through an optical fibre to a monitor in a ground station. Hence, the system shall be used both to convert the image data to make it transmittable, and to recreate it at the receiver.The work includes a pre-study of the programming language and the technology used. A concept for the solution is presented together with main components later broken down into internal functions.

ERP-system (Enterprise Resource Planning Systems) spelar en allt större roll för organisationer och att implementeringen av dem blir framgångsrika är av stor betydelse för ett företag. Det finns exempel där en misslyckad implementeringsprocess medfört att hela företag försatts i konkurs.Följaktligen har flera studier gjorts gällande ERP-implementeringar. Ibland syftar artiklarna till att visa på rekommenderade tillvägagångssätt genom att redogöra för implementeringens kritiska framgångsfaktorer ? de moment, aktiviteter eller liknande som genom studien identifierats som avgörande för en framgångsrik implementering. Majoriteten av studierna har berört organisationer i privat sektor.Författarna till denna uppsats ansåg att det fanns starka argument för att dessa studiers resultat inte med nödvändighet är applicerbara på organisationer i offentlig sektor, utan att de kritiska framgångsfaktorerna kan skilja sig åt eller ha olika prioriteringsgrad i respektive sektor.

The purpouse of this study is to find out how and if a Content Managment System (CMS) can benefit from applied User Experience Design (UX). A work project has been executed where a client wanted the students to create a user friendly CMS for adding content to a global hotel review site. A prototype of a CMS was created based on literature studies about UX and CMS. The prototype of the user friendly CMS was then tested through user tests and interviews with key users. After input from the key users the prototype was changed until the users were satisfied with it..

The purpose with this report is to make a contribution to Bodycote heat treatments workshop in Värnamo, how to introduce, establish and constantly improve its environmental system. The rapport will help Bodycote with there certifying in ISO 14001: s demand standard. Organizations who continuously work with environmental issues have a lot to gain. Two things an active environmental development process will convey are, building of thrust within the circle of customers, and great financial savings. An increasingly numbers of organizations realize the importance to introduce a functioning environmental system into their activity.

Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka intresset hos ortens företag för att samarbeta med vårt teknikprograms inriktning mot design ? främst inom området CAD/CAM och få fram förslag på hur ett sådant samarbete skulle kunna se ut. Jag har delat in undersökningen i två delar. I den ena delen har jag valt metoden att skicka ut en enkät till utvalda företag på orten med frågan om de var intresserade av ett samarbete med vårt program eller har intresse av att ingå i ett nätverk i området CAD/CAM. I den andra delen har jag valt att göra studiebesök med intervjuer för att söka inspiration och idéer till ett system för att få ett utbyte mellan näringsliv och skola att fungera. Förslagen på samarbetsmodeller är ett resultat av mina egna tidigare erfarenheter, diskussioner med kollegor och ovan nämnda studiebesök, dels på ett annat teknikprogram och dels på byggprogrammet på samma gymnasium.

Detta är ett 20 poäng stort examensarbete i Medieteknik utfört hösten 2005 samt våren 2006. Examensarbetets syfte är att skapa ett användargränssnitt till menysystemet för en produkt som skall komma med motionscyklar för hemmabruk.Examensarbetet har inneburit att genom hela designprocessen ha en hög grad av kontakt med potentiella slutanvändare till produkten. Detta har skett genom längre intervjuer, enkäter och tester.Gränssnittet skulle innehålla vissa funktioner som specificerades av uppdragsgivaren. Detta var till exempel vilka inställningar som bör kunna göras och vilka olika alternativ på cykling man har.Efter inledande dialog med potentiella slutanvändare och kvantitativ informationsinsamling togs ett antal designförslag fram som utvärderades av slutanvändare.Förslag på navigering och menyträd testades i experimentform, detta innebar att användarna ombads utföra ett antal uppgifter och fick förklara hur de tänkte lösa dessa. Slutligen sammanfogades resultaten till en prototyp till ett användargränssnitt.
