The purpose of the present study has been to explore if there is an agreement between people about what to call real country music. Three Swedish people who are interested in country music have described this music by means of interviews. The interviews have been analysed and compared with literature dealing with country music, and the result of the study presents three conceptions: authenticity, simplicity and contextual comprehension. The conclusion is that there seems to be some common views about what real country music is but that these conceptions are not defined in exactly the same way by different people..

Denna undersökning behandlar spel i kontext till lärande och matematik. Genom att gestalta ett spel undersökte vi, författare hur olika designval kunde påverka lärande. Målet var att spelare skulle lära sig genom situationsbaserat lärande och där genom få möjlighet att överföra sin kunskap till sitt vardagsliv. Undersökningen hade sin utgångspunkt i ANT (actor-network theory) som användes som metodologi för att analysera och reflektera över de val som gjordes. MDA (Mechanics Dynamics Aesthetics) användes som ett ramverk för att utveckla själva gestaltningen.

This work is about Cuban music and my relationship to it. My study contains two different parts. In the first one I try to give a short summary of Cuban music history. The second part is about possibilities and problems that can arise in the meeting with foreign cultures. I have focused on three themes: Music and respect, cultural encounters and travelling, and communication.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to examine the information needs in the character subjects of the students at a vocationally oriented program in the Swedish upper secondary school. I also examine from which sources the students get the information. I want to create a wider understanding of information seeking processes at a vocationally oriented programme. I uppsatsen skildrar gymnasieelever och gymnasielärare vid ett omvårdandsprogram sin skolvardag. Uppsatsens fundament utgörs av en omfångsrik empirisk undersökning främst baserad på ostrukturerade intervjuer. Intervjuerna kompletteras med observationer vilka ligger till grund för en miljöbeskrivning som visualiserar kontexten.En av slutsatserna är att varken elever eller lärare är tillfreds med rådande situation vilket innebär att samtliga efterfrågar förändring. Episodic gaming is a relatively new phenomenon, that hasn?t been as extensively explored as other areas in game research. In this paper we research how episodic narratives and gameplay engage players compared to regular continuous storytelling. By exploring this we get a better understanding of how to design games that captivate players to the point of them wanting to play the next episode.  A user study is conducted where ten players play two episodes each of an episodic game. We apply observations and interviews to capture a large amount of empirical data.

In today?s world there are plenty of technological tools and methods available with the purpose to increase peoples motivation for a healthier lifestyle. One such tool is a so-called activity tracker which uses sensors to log the user's everyday life and present it as automatic feedback. Gamification is a new and successful method to motivate and engage people in fulfilling tasks by using game elements and mechanics. In this study, five participants were instructed to use the activity tracker and pedometer Fitbit Flex daily for three weeks. Halfway through the study the participants were ranked and listed against each other in a ranking list in order to evoke competition.

Detta arbete är en textanalys av hur några svenska läroböcker i matematik introducerar algebra speglat i van Hieles teorier om tankenivåer vid inlärning. The purpose of the present study is to explore differences in the musical opinions and preferences and the quality of written language between pupils of two age groups (12 and 17 resp). Two classes were chosen, one from each age level. Each class/group was also divided by gender. The pupils asked to write an essay on their musical opinions and preferences. The essays were analyzed with respect to musical content and linguistic form.

This thesis is a product development project that was performed at Alfa Laval Tumba AB. In the past Alfa Laval have manufactured gas separators for engines where gas flows were cleaned from oil. A new business area for this kind of technology has shown to be the manufacturing industry where oil mist has to be separated from the vented air. Therefore a new and bigger design is needed to be able to handle the greater gas flows. A product like that would be a strong competitor on the market when the maintenance would be low in comparison to today?s equipment.During the project several concept suggestions were developed using customer interviews and research as input.
