Dimensional stability is an important aspect of fuel mechanical design and licensing of new fuel designs for nuclear power plants. Dimensional changes within the reactor can affect the safety margins against overheating of the cladding and the pellets, therefore it is crucial that the dimensional changes are kept to a minimum.The profits per produced kiloWatt hour continue to decrease for the Swedish nuclear power plants. Some reactors are even operated with a calculated loss. To reduce fuel costs and thereby improve the profit some reactors are operated with higher uranium enrichment, so that the assemblies can reach a higher average burnup. This increases the neutron fluence to the pellets, cladding an spacers.

Corn is an important food and feed crop in the world, in Sweden it?s up till now grown on limited acreages mainly for silage. But I think it can get more important if you can grow it also for grain, because it?s a good animal feed for example, for life stock-, pigsand poultry. On of corns advantage is that it can produce the same amount of dry matter as for example wheat, barley and rise but with 25% less water. I will examine if it possible to grow corn for grain production in the south of Sweden.

Results: First Line Managers at the chosen hospital seems to have rather good conditions for conducting a health promoting leadership. All respondents did have a university degree and most thought that their competence corresponded well with the role.

In this report a system for Rapid Control Prototyping, RCP, is evaluated through animplementation of the motor control methods Field Oriented Control, FOC, and Space VectorPulse Width Modulation, SVPWM. The evaluation emphasizes on time-consumption andresource utilization on the used hardware and on usability for of software.A new mechatronic laboratory is under development at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås. Itwill be used for both mechanical and motion control design using existing and new hardware.The control structure in a traditional robot system will be interfaced to a rapid prototypingsystem which should allow easy changes to algorithms at different levels in the system.The system designated for this project comes from National Instruments and constitutesLabVIEW Real-time and FPGA module as the software tools. The hardware is a NI Single-Board RIO (Reconfigurable Input Output), sbRIO, development board including a Field-Programmable Gate Array, FPGA, from Xilinx and a microprocessor from FreescaleSemiconductor. The goal is to identify weak points in the chillchain and to se how wrong temperatures affect the flowers. The results can be a help to secure the chillchain.Method:The work started with a problem; map the distribution of cut flowers with focus on temperature losses. Data was collected on the basis of this problem, then analysed, and finally conclusions were drawn.Conclusions:The affect handling and distribution has on a cut flower is very complex.

KOL är en sjukdom som är progressiv och saknar botemedel. Patienter som lider av svårare former av KOL upplever ofta symtom som andfåddhet, ångest, fatigue och smärta. Ett sätt att lindra lidande hos dessa patienter är att övergå från kurativ till palliativ vård. Detta fokusskifte leder till bättre symtomlindring och en mer holistisk syn på patienten. Tidigare forskning visar dock att svårt sjuka patienter med KOL sällan bedöms vara palliativa och i låg utsträckning erbjuds symtomlindring.

Bakgrund: För tidig eller för sen urträning från ventilator kan ge negativa konsekvenser för patienten, därför bör det identifieras när patientens tillstånd tillåter detta. Med anledning av det och att ansvaret för urträningen övergått mer från läkarna till sjuksköterskorna har det utvecklats hjälpmedel såsom evidensbaserade urträningsprotokoll. Dessa medför en mer samstämmig behandling och har också visat sig leda till kortare behandlingstid med ventilator. Olikheter i vårdpersonalens kunskap, utbildningsnivå, erfarenhet, ansvarsområden och hur organisationen ser ut påverkar hur urträningen genomförs. Syfte: Att beskriva intensivvårdssjuksköterskors uppfattning om urträning från ventilator. Metod: En empirisk fokusgruppintervjustudie med kvalitativ och deskriptiv ansats genomfördes.

I detta kandidatarbete skapas en animation för att visualisera användarinstruktioner för en balpress. Förberedelser utförs i 3D-CADprogramvaran Geomagic Design 2014 innan arbetet med animeringen påbörjas i programmet SimLab Composer Animation. I förberedelserna rensas modellerna och modifieras. Modeller som saknas skapas. I detta förslag på visualisering av ett moment i användning av balpressen är i syfte att underlätta för brukaren hur den snabbt kan använda maskinen. Användarens perspektiv sätts i fokus hur den kan tänkas betrakta och uppfatta maskinen genom instruktionerna i animeringen.

BakgrundAllogen stamcellstransplantation (SCT) a?r en behandling med botande potential vid olika typer av hematologiska och icke-hematologiska sjukdomar. A?r 2009 genomfo?rdes det 225 stycken allogena stamcellstransplantationer i Sverige. Det a?r en kra?vande behandling som medfo?r ma?nga fysiska och psykiska sva?righeter och en risk att drabbas av livshotande komplikationer.

This master thesis project at KTH is performed in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineeringdepartment at University of Florida (UF). The thesis is a small part of a gas turbine researchproject where a vapour absorption refrigeration system (VARS) and a high pressure regenerativeturbine engine (HPRTE) are integrated together. The main objective is to build a computermodel of the VARS. The computer model is supposed to be used to analyse the off-designperformance of the VARS and should also be easy to integrate as a subroutine in a more complexsystem model. To model the VARS some knowledge of the absorbent/refrigerant mixture had tobe well known, in this case a mixture of ammonia and water.

An energy study has been performed on two blocks in an area called Gävle Strand. The buildings are owned by a tenant-owner?s association called brf Carolina and were built by the company Skanska 2008. The builder as well as brf Carolina are pussled by the fact that electricity use is higher than expected while heating is less. Skanska is also very interested in finding out how much heat recovery from stale exhaust air through a geo-thermal heat pump is contributing to the general heating requirement and energy balance in four out of the ten buildings located on the properties.To find possible answers to the higher electricity use a literature survey on user behaviour was conducted.

Hallstaviks papermill is an industry plant within Holmen Paper. Hallstavik is a mechanical mill and produce newspaper and journal paper. During year 2000, Hallstavik used approximate 1.200 m3f spruce, either as logs or chips from sawmills. Due to that the production is running continuously the mill also needs raw material at the same rate. At some periods the supply of raw material cannot keep up pace.
