The purpose of this thesis has been to develop a tool for modelling and simulating the nuclear plant Ringhals 3. The model should be used to improve the knowledge on the dynamics of the plant. Ringhals 3 is being upgraded to produce more power and a tool for analyzing the new operating conditions is needed.The work in this thesis has consisted of improving and developing an existing model of Ringhals 3 made with the modelling tool Dymola. The model has been validated by comparing the results of a simulated house load transient with data from the actual plant. Validation shows good agreement with data from the real plant.

This study examines affective polarization among first-time voters in Sweden and the factors that explain variation in its levels. Affective polarization refers to the extent to which individuals hold negative feelings toward political opponents. Drawing on social identity theory and theories of ideological polarization, the study tests two hypotheses regarding why first-time voters are expected to display lower levels of affective polarization compared to older voters. Affective polarization is operationalized as the dispersion of individuals' evaluations of political parties and analyzed using visual graphs alongside bivariate and multivariate regression models to identify underlying mechanisms. The results show that first-time voters, on average, exhibit slightly lower levels of affective polarization than older voters.

The effects of social media usage in a professional context, specifically the effects on social media usage in relation to leadership have been studied in order to determine weather or not usage can be productive for leadership in general. The study concludes that there are several benefits as well as drawbacks to leadership in using social media, but has yet to conclude weather productive or not. This study gives an overview of a relatively unexplored subject.Leadership in terms of leader, communication and group dynamics have been defined and explained in accordance with existing literature. A  brief review of computer and Internet history attempts to explain the formation and evolution of social media. Risks in terms of risks related to leadership and risks related to IT-security are taken into consideration and have been briefly explained.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and specify the characteristics of servicescapes in the hotel industry and its role when building a brand. Further, the aim is to put forward how Management in this sector strategically utilizes the location to manage the staff in order to help build a strong lasting brand. To fulfill our purpose we have targeted one overall question - What purpose does servicescape have when building a solid brand name in the hotel sector?In today?s society brands play an integral part in influencing our buying behavior and are now considered to be a new business tool to communicate a business trough. Also services have become a widespread phenomenon, which is seen as a competitive tool not only for companies in the service sector.

This master?s thesis report is a summary of the analysis performed together with ITAB Shop Concept located in Jönköping, Sweden. As a last element of the Master?s program at the School of Engineering, this 20 point level D thesis project has been the final work to bring my education to an end.ITAB Shop Concept expressed an aspiration that the Shop Counter Program B10/B11 should undergo an analysis to point out and possibly lead to improvement.Through interviews and data collection proposals for possible improvements has been drawn up and the analysis points out current deficiencies. By following the idea generation, proposals to solutions for every individual problem is presented.

Interaction is an important part of children?s development. The school is a main arena in which children learn to interact, mainly through their playing. This study aims at investigating the role of interaction in a leisure school didactic setting. The aim of the study is to gain a better understanding for how the pupils develop though use of social interaction.

Denna studie behandlar tillväxt och beståndsstruktur samt sambandet mellan dessa i skog skött med blädningsbruk. Blädningsbruk förutsätter fullskiktad skog med fallande diameterfördelning, under nordiska förhållanden vanligtvis dominerad av gran (Picea abies (L.) Karst). Strukturen i fullskiktad skog är resultatet av tillväxt, skörd/mortalitet och inväxning. Kunskap om det komplexa samspelet mellan dessa faktorer ger skogsskötaren möjlighet att planera och sköta fullskiktad skog för en hög och uthållig produktion. Undersökningar och litteratur inom aktuella områden tas upp i en litteraturstudie. Ämnen som behandlas är: definitioner och begrepp, diameterfördelningen i fullskiktad skog och hur denna kan beskrivas, blädning och andra avverkningsstrategier samt tillväxt- och produktionsundersökningar i Norden, Europa och USA.

Den 30:e september 1998 mottog Konkurrensverket ett klagomål ifrån Braathens Sverige AB, enligt vilket SAS (Scandinavian Airline System) anklagades för att på olika samverkans förfarande missbrukat sin dominerande ställning på den svenska inrikesflygmarknaden. Några veckor efter klagomålet från Braathens beslutade Konkurrensverket att avsluta klagomålsärendet och istället på eget initiativ pröva SAS förfarande. Den 12:e november 1999 beslutade Konkurrensverket att SAS inte fick tillämpa sitt Eurobonussystem på inrikeslinjerna där det fanns andra konkurrenter. Denna slutrapport är resultatet av ett samarbete mellan Kockums AB / Karlskronavarvet och Blekinge Tekniska Högskola (Institutionen för maskinteknik). Det av Kockums initierade projektet har benämnts till ?System med ?Pop-up?-munstycken för helikopterplattform på korvett?. Uppdraget har bestått i att utprova och verifiera ett befintligt munstycke, vars primära funktion är släckning av petroliumbränder (helikopterolycka) på ett stelthfartygs helikopterplattform. Munstyckets sekundära funktion består i att vattenbegjuta (sk. wash-down) stelthfartyget, för att minska dess IR-signatur och för användning vid NBC-sanering (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical).

The project was based on a request to improve an already existing program and hardware at the electrical engineering department at the royal institute of technology. For maximum ease of use, tests have been done on students to properly design the program for what it is meant to be used for. These tests have been transcribed and analysed, then brought back to the group in a discussion and then transcribed and analysed again, I call this process the ?four step process? (this process is presented and explained in chapter 6.4.). A part of this master thesis was also to analyse the four step process to enhance validity of this research.The project resulted in a new program with a new graphical view and features to help students and researchers to work with the technical tool for electromagnetic readings of planar objects.

På Skånemejeriers ysteri i Kristianstad har en energiinventering utförts. Detta för att lokalisera de komponenter på mejeriet som är energianvändare och få en bättre insyn i energianvändningen på mejeriet. Föreliggande inventering har sedan använts för att analysera energianvändningen och föreslå energieffektiviseringsåtgärder. Informationen i uppsatsen är införskaffad genom löpande intervjuer med personalen på Skånemejerier och deras samarbetspartners, okulärbesiktningar samt genom ett studiebesök på Arla Foods i Kalmar.Inventeringen är indelad i två områden, nämligen produktions- och stödprocesserna. Produktionsprocesserna innefattar samtliga energianvändare som direkt berör produktionen av ost medan stödprocesserna innefattar de energianvändare som berör produktionen av ost indirekt..

Denna rapport fokuserar på vilka skillnader och likheter det finns mellan ledarskapsstilar inom privat och offentlig sektor. Rapporten använder sig av ett statistiskt underlag som tagits fram med hjälp av beteendeprofileringsverktyget Interpersonal Dynamics Inventory (IDI). Dessutom har ett flertal intervjuer genomförts med utvalda ledare inom privat och offentlig sektor. Rapporten undersöker vilka ledarskapstilar som finns och vilka som är vanligast förekommande. Rapporten tar även upp viktiga faktorer som skiljer den privata sektorn från den offentliga.Syftet med denna rapport är att identifiera skillnader och likheter vad gäller ledarskapsstilar inom privat och offentlig sektor.

The need of raw material does of course fluctuate but the long term view is an increasing demand due to the growing consumption of sawn timber products, pulp, paper and lately also biomass. This has led to a keener competition for wood. At the same time there is an ongoing structural change of a significant part in the Swedish wood supply market, the private forest owners. In 1992, 22 % of Sweden´s 335 000 private forest owner lived apart from their forest. In 2007 this figure had risen to 36 %.

Atlas Copco Tools develops and manufactures handheld industrial tools. Heat and surface treatments are used to provide the tools with certain properties. There are no routines for the choice of treatment or for how to specify treatment on drawings. Production documents that are sent for production abroad may not be clear enough. Some treatments are known as trademarks and there are no instructions for how to specify these on drawings and in CAD-models.The purpose of this master thesis work is to create recommendations for the procedure of choosing heat and surface treatment.
