This essay aims to emphasize and clarify the positions that exist within the current globalization debate. The positions are the neo-liberal, the opponents, the pragmatists and the skeptics. The text presents and explains their ideological, moral and political positions and beliefs about the world, the nation state, the society and the individual; in light of Steven Lukes? and Antonio Gramsci's theories regarding the interaction and the relationship between power and hegemony. The methodological starting point is the ideology-critical analysis; in which their arguments in the current globalization debate is highlighted and categorized.

The energy sector is facing an impending paradigm shift. Today?s technology enables the end-user to generate their own energy locally at home. Furthermore, recently developed storage technologies make it possible to balance energy demand with stored energy and integrate district heating with the local power grid. This means that in the future heat and electric power will interact and energy flows is converted over energy boundaries.

Jag upplever det som att dagens samhälle är i ett konstant läge av förändring, vilket borde medföra att de företag som finns ute i samhälle måste befinna sig i ett konstant läge av anpassning. Utifrån det undrar jag hur företagen kan klara av att hantera de mänskliga resurserna samtidigt som de måste klara av den föränderliga omgivningen. Jag har därför valt att undersöka personalhanteringen på tre företag inom samma bransch för att fastställa ifall personalhanteringen utvecklas åt liknande håll. Eller om företagen utvecklas åt helt olika håll utan några likheter. De företag som jag undersöker lyckas uppenbarligen med konststycket att anpassa sig samtidigt som de hanterar sin personal och det jag är intresserad av är hur lyckas de med en sådan balansering.Mitt syfte är således inte att hitta ett gyllene snitt för personalhantering utan om möjligt finna liknelser mellan hur de företag jag kommer i kontakt med hanterar personal.

The health care system in most western countries is undergoing rapid changes with an increasing amount of people living with chronic cancer. These people have to deal with their disease in every day life together with working and family life. The relationship between health services and every day life has changed and raises new requirements. Earlier research has shown that maintaining every day life is important for cancer patients and their families. This study comprised patients with lymphoma receiving their diagnosis during 2003 ? 2005.

The price of Swedish forest properties has gone up by 77 percent during the past five years. Amongst private forest managers the high price level signals optimism and confidence for the future. Many forest owners manage large capital in the forest and a planned economy is to a larger extent demanded to achieve a positive economic result. Forest is long-term and to maximize a single year without planning for the years to come results in less optimization of the parameters available to achieve a favourable economic result. This case study investigates the investment of two forest properties situated in Götaland. The management of the forest has been planned for both properties during a period of ten years.

During spring 2008, the Institution for Landscape Architecture, in co-operation with Naturvårdsverket, initiated a survey in the districts of Skåne. In the survey, four out of eight park characters were examined, and it was observed that not only was it difficult interpreting these characters, but it was also presented with difficulties separating ??Lustgården?? and ??Allmänningen??. The purpose of this master thesis in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Psychology is twofold. Firstly, a theoretical framework will be constructed on the thee characters ??Allmänningen??, ??Lustgården?? and ??Centrum, festen??.

   Introduktion    Övervikt och fetma (BMI > 25 respektive BMI > 30) ökar i omfattning i hela världen och så även i Sverige. Prevalensen av övervikt/fetma i Sverige är ca 44 % och specifikt i Sandvikens kommun så är drygt hälften av den vuxna befolkningen överviktig/fet vilket ökar risken för ohälsa och sjukdom.Det är angeläget att hitta de personer som löper risk att utveckla alternativt redan har övervikt/fetma för att kunna förebygga och behandla. Med tidig upptäckt och rätt behandling så gynnas förstås patienten i första hand, men även sjukvården och samhället i stort då detta i förlängningen minskar kostnaderna. I denna studie undersöktes hur ett vårdprogram som ska användas för upptäckt och behandling av övervikt/fetma tillämpades på tre hälsocentraler i Sandvikens kommun under två månader hösten 2005.MetodUtgångspunkten för vårdprogrammet med tillhörande flödesschema är att man mäter BMI först. Mätning ska ske på alla patienter som söker vård inom Primärvården Gästrikland ? inte bara de patienter som specifikt söker för övervikt eller fetma.

Syfte och frågeställningarSyftet med studien var att undersöka effekten av en kortisoninjektion i bäckenligamenten på patienter med långvarig ländryggssmärta.MetodStudien genomfördes utifrån en single-subject experimental design med sex deltagare med långvarig ländryggssmärta. De utfallsmått som användes var smärtskattning (Numerical Rating Scale, NRS), skattad smärtrelaterad aktivitetsbegränsning (Oswestry Disability Index, ODI), skattad rörelserädsla (Tampa scale of kinesiophobia, TSK-SV), rörlighet (Fingertip-to-floor), funktion genom ett dynamiskt balanstest (Star excursion balance test, SEBT), funktionstest (sit-to-stand) och uthållighetsstyrketest (modifierat Biering- Sørensen), samt fysisk aktivitetsnivå mätt med accelerometermätare. Deltagarna genomförde fem testtillfällen innan och fem eller sex testtillfällen efter intervention. Vid sista besöket skattade deltagarna förändring av besvär enligt global index of change. Resultaten analyserades på individnivå genom visuell analys av trender och nivåskillnader i grafer, statistisk analys av graferna genom 2 SD-metoden, i kombination med deltagarnas subjektiva beskrivningar av eventuell förändring.

The use of alcohol, narcotics, and tobacco have all long been considered health hazards, especially among children and teenagers. It is therefor not surprising to find that schools have promoted against the use of these substances in different preventative programs for many decades, and the Swedish school system is no exception. However, the use of, as well as the laws restricting alcohol, narcotics, and tobacco are, and have historically been, highly political issues. Individuals, groups, institutions, and states may all have different opinions on how these substances should be regulated and of their place in society, which in turn may lead to conflicts of values and different approaches. One can not expect parents or guardians to share the views on alcohol, narcotics, and tobacco policy presented by schools, laws or state regulations.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to study the adaptation of recently recruited young professionals to a top consulting firm through their identity construction efforts. We analyze the influence of a major organization-related discourse on young professionals in order to account for the effects of emotional labor on their adaptation to work. Methodology: We have studied our empirical material in the light of a reflexive pragmatic approach. Thus throughout the analysis of interview material, we try to interpret carefully the material from various perspectives. As authors, we also reflect critically upon our own interpretations.

A segmented market, according to traditional methods, appears increasingly difficult in mature consumer markets. A common explanation is that the mature markets are often characterised by over-supply which results in a great variety of choices for the consumer. Furthermore, the consumer of today has a more complex and flexible purchase behaviour which is difficult to catch. This makes consumer segmentation difficult. International studies indicate that dividing consumers into generation cohorts might be advantageous in understanding consumers of today.

Fält Elektronik AB i Kalix utvecklar och tillverkar bland annat larmsändare för fast uppkopplade larmnät. Fast uppkopplade larmnät används för att åstadkomma övervakad och säker överföring av larm och annan information mellan tekniska system för skydd och säkerhet. Larmöverföringen är ständigt övervakad från larmanläggningen ända fram till larmcentralen. Ett problem som idag finns i larmnät är att om man tappar kontakten med en larmsändare så vet man bara att man tappat kontakten, men inte varför. Därför vill man nu utveckla ett instrument som kan mäta och kontrollera vad som orsakar att uppkopplingen bryts t.ex.

Bakgrund Övervikt och fetma är en folksjukdom och ett av de största globala hälsoproblemen i vår tid. Det är den femte största orsaken till dödsfall världen över och är en riskfaktor för utvecklandet av ett flertal kroniska sjukdomar. I USA har fetma ökat i epidemiska proportioner bland både barn och vuxna och Mississippi är den delstat med störst prevalens. Delstaten har en befolkning på nästan tre miljoner invånare och hälften av befolkningen lider av fetma. Skolan har identifierats som en fördelaktig plats att arbeta med förebyggande och tidig identifiering av övervikt och fetma.

Background: Studies that have been made in male-dominated organisations shows that only few women have succeeded in advancing to the higher positions in all businesses. Statistics shows that merely 4 % of the managers in all building companies are female. The manager role has earlier always been classified as most suitable for men resulting in barriers for women who strive for management positions. This problem is now very renowned and is called the glass ceiling. To improve the current situation, both the organization's structure and culture, have to be modernized for more women to succeed and get the courage to get into the industry.
