The Results of this thesis was the creation of two designed house variants with a module toall the apartments. In addition till the first module there are three other modules ofapartments that can be put in the houses if it so needs. The house are volume prefabricatedand are placed on site in a way that it create an enclosure of the area which faces against thenature and car parks also lies hidden behind these houses.For the actual structure, a cross beam was created to carry the floor above and it is supportby all four walls. The structure between the first and the second floor has no "syll" butinstead there are two differently alternative to linking the floors in order so that it will notmove. The reason with this solution was that there will not be any subsidence when theforces from above are pressed down ward.

Konstruktion av upprätningssystem för CICLoPE

Today there is no way of measuring or simulating turbulent flow in high Reynolds numberenvironments. The computational power required to simulate these conditions is not expectedto be available for several decades so instead the CICLoPE project aims at solving thisshortage by the construction of a long carbon fiber wind tunnel in which real measurementscan be made. To do accurate measurements it is of importance that the wind tunnel, 0.9 metersin diameter and 110 meters long, is as straight as possible.This master thesis treat the design and construction of a device which may be used to align thetunnel along a reference laser beam. A design is presented which allows the pipe to be alignedwithin about a quarter of a millimeter along its entire length. Contents span over severalscience fields such as physics, mechanics, control theory and electronics.The result is a theoretically correct design.

Masonites flexibla byggsystem - Utformning av skarvbeslag för hopfogning av prefabricerade väggelement

Masonites flexibla byggsystem, är ett byggsystem utvecklat av Masonites Beams AB för flervåningshus, bostäder och kontor i trä.  System är anpassat så att det i största möjliga utsträckning går att använda sig av prefabricerade element direkt från fabrik, för att sedan hopfogas med mekaniska förband på byggarbetsplatsen.Masonites förslag på en infästning mellan bärande väggar är utformad som en montagedubb vilken förs ned i ett hål i underliggande väggelement. Montaget av dubben fungerade inte önskvärt, och det finns tveksamheter i montagedubbens förmåga att ta upp vindinducerande krafter.Examensarbetet syftar till att utforma och dimensionera ett nytt väggbeslag till Masonites flexibla byggsystem där snabbt montage av beslaget är viktigt. Iden är att såga en kontinuerlig slits i väggelementen som man sedan fäster plåtar som skruvas fast i det övre- respektive det undre väggelementet. Skruven som används är en självborrande skruv för att slippa förborrning av plåten och väggelementet.Reglerna i Eurokod 3 och 5 ligger till grund för beräkningarna av beslaget och lastnedräkningen av ett 8-våningshus är enligt BKR. Lämplig indata till lastnedräkningen gjordes i samråd med erfaren konstruktör och inblandade i MFB från Masonite.

This master?s thesis aims to be the foundation to that development.The thesis consists of several parts; a market analysis of how competitors to Scania and the general vehicle industry solve this problem; several available principles for detecting the amount of control needed; the construction of a test station for sensors, a control unit and components connected controlled by the control unit; a further theoretical and practical development of one principle ? one rotational sensor connected between the chassis and the back drive axis; a state flow model programmed in Simulink that produces the control signal for the headlight leveling from the sensor input.Lastly the thesis gives some recommendations to the further development and implementation of automatic headlight level control on Scania vehicles..

Frihängande kylbaffel för Swegon : Freely suspended chilled beam for Swegon

This study aims to highlight and analyze eight secondary teachers' views and thoughts on mathematics. Hopefully this study will provide a deeper understanding of how teachers think and reason about their subject and how this affects their teaching. The study was conducted using a qualitative interview method, based on interviews with eight middle school teachers who teach in school mathematics for grades 6 - 9. The interviews were recorded and then transcribed and analyzed. After the interview analysis one can conclude that the teachers? thoughts concern three main themes: the importance of mathematics, children?s lack of basic knowledge and the teachers? lack of time.In discussion and analysis the teachers conceptions of the own subject is being analyzed, and that is the foundation of this study.

In the year 2012 the company invested in a new coating booth, which leads to opportunities to upgrading the fixtures and also new design. The request is to minimize the area for storage of fixtures, and therefore should fixtures be designed to apply as many articles as possible The priority of products that fixtures have development to has been products that are most frequently coated and new products that don?t have any fixtures. The product families that the project has been having focus on is TIME and FOVEA with RONDO.

Optimering av ultraljudssändare- och mottagare avseende räckvidd, strålningsvinkel och energiförbrukning

Embedded Systems Lab at Umeå University is currently part of a research project with the purpose to examine the behavior of dairy cows inside a barn. Each cow needs to be tracked with a precision of 50 cm, and since GPS-technique has poor functionality at indoor environments, an indoor positioning system needs to be developed.Embedded Systems Lab has already developed an indoor positioning system using IR-light and radio, but since this system demands extensive infrastructure and is rather expensive, an alternate positioning system using ultrasonic pulses and radio is being examined.In this report the range, beam angle and current consumption of ultrasonic transmitters- and receivers are investigated. Three different driver stages for the transmitter is tested, and two amplifier solutions for the receiver. The report also describes how the length of the transmitted ultrasonic pulse affects the received signal, accessibility of a ?shadowed? signal, and the effect of different sound frequency..

Syftet med industriellt byggande beskrivs som att uppnå en snabb och kostnadseffektiv byggprocess med få unika lösningar. Detta medför i längden en repetitiv process till låg kostnad. Industriellt byggande för flerbostadshus introduceras med miljonprogrammet 1965-1975 och beskrivs som avsevärt höjande för boendekvalitén i Sverige fast försummande för stimulerande gestaltning. En ytlig analys av miljonprogrammet och industriellt byggandes fördelar och nackdelar resulterar i insikten om standarders essentiella roll. Innebörden av detta avhandlas ytligt där kontentan fastslås som att arkitekten måste ha en djup insyn i ramarna för standardiseringen.

This master thesis deals with steel girders subjected to patch loading caused by concentrated moments. There exist no good methods to calculate by hand the ultimate resistance for this load case. In ?tunnplåtshandboken?, (Handbook for sheet metal, which is published by SSAB), one calculation method is presented. It?s however fairly difficult to use, because of many calculation steps and many graphs.

To give a realistic impression in a driving simulator for nighttime driving, there are many challenging aspects to consider. One of the most important aspects is the illumination caused by the headlights of the own vehicle. To give a realistic impression there is the need to consider the characteristics of the headlight in use to be able to represent main and dipped beam, but also to represent different models and types of headlights. Another important aspect is the dazzling effects caused by the light cast by other vehicles upon the driver. These effects are not only important to give a realistic and visually appealing simulation, but also to simulate blinding effects which may affect the drivers ability to perceive the traffic environment to a large degree.

Kvarteret Mjölnaren : bostadsgård på bjälklag

Uppsalahem, Uppsalas municipal renting company, builds about 250 new apartments every year. Mjölnaren in Kungsängen is a project which contributes with about 130 new renting apartments finished in 2010/2011. This report has lead up to a proposal. Focus lies on how to create a courtyard on beam joists where shape, style and different types of functions are important elements. The report also brings up ground materials, details, plants, availability and built up plantings. All these aspects together are what create a well functioning and pleasant courtyard. All through the work with this report I have taken part of the meetings concerning the project.

Mixtekniker

A discussion regarding the alignment and measuring procedure of propeller shafts has arose due to the competing situation in the industry, and higher standards from the customers. An estimation of the deflection of shafts in different alignment situations has been made with help of FEM-analysis and beam theory. This has been analyzed and compared with the experience from Rolls-Royce AB suppliers of shafts. An evaluation of measuring protocols has been made and the result indicates that there is a correlation between the deflection of the shaft and the run out. Results from a measuring test performed by Balino, Spain, verifies this conclusion.

Modellering av tvärsnitt i betongbro med avseende på egenskaper som platta och balk

Examensarbetet behandlar ett brotvärsnitt som inte entydigt kan betraktas som ett balktvärsnitt eller plattvärsnitt. Med de måttdefinitioner som används vid broprojektering ska en plattkonstruktion ha en bredd som är fem gånger höjden, annars ska konstruktionen ses som en balk där även balkens längd definieras att vara större än tre gånger höjden. Brotvärsnittet som studeras i detta examensarbete kan alltså definieras både som ett plattvärsnitt och som ett balktvärsnitt. Målet med arbetet är att undersöka om det är möjligt att finna en metod att konstruera denna typ av tvärsnitt som befinner sig i gränslandet mellan två definitioner. Skillnaderna mellan en plattas och en balks verkningssätt ligger i att plattan antas bära last i två riktningar medan en balk enbart bär last i en riktning.Examensarbetet är genomfört i sammarbete med WSP Bro- och vattenbyggnad i Örebro, som konstruerade en bro med just detta tvärsnitt.
