The objective of this M. Eng. Diploma work was to validate the new version, CASMO-5M, and compare the results with CASMO-4E, by using the same input in both programs. The tasks that were included in this work was to compare TIP-measures, k-effective curves (warm), k-effective curves (cold), the effect of void on k-effective, the isothermal temperature coefficient (ITC), the moderator temperature coefficient (MTC), damping ratio calculations, internal effect in a fuel bundle of a BA-rod, the speed of BA-out burn, impact of xenon, falling control rod, margins and isotopes.The TIP-measures showed that the differences were small for all reactors, at most, 6% nodal improvement by C5M (Casmo-5M) for Oskarshamn 3. The warm measurements of k-effective showed that C5M had a higher value for all cycles of Oskarshamn 1, 2 and 3 in comparison to C4E (Casmo-4E).

Trots en hög andel unga med psykosomatiska besvär visar statistiken även att ungdomar generellt upplever sig ha en god psykisk hälsa, ett gott humör, god självkänsla och en god framtidstro. Denna studie fokuserar på att utforska hur varaktiga mönster av stresshanteringsstrategier hos ungdomar kan relateras till deras subjektivt upplevda välbefinnande i termer av affektiva tillstånd och kognitiva bedömningar av livstillfredsställelse. En enkätundersökning genomfördes med 104 deltagare, varav 80 kvinnor, i åldrarna 15 till 19 år. Mätinstrument som användes var svenska versioner av COPE Inventory, Positive and Negative Affect Schedule och Satisfaction With Life Scale. Resultatet visade att emotionsfokuserade copingstrategier i högre grad än respektive problemfokuserade strategier predicerade välbefinnande, vilket skiljer sig från tidigare resultat där de senare stått för detta samband främst i studier med vuxna.

For industry, the vulnerability is greater. Fragmented production chains in combination with expenditure reductions in inventory causes a dependency on proper transport of intermediate goods in the manufacturing industry. A lengthy disruption thus involves disruption of production for both domestic consumption and for export goods containing imported parts.In order to secure shipping routes with a limited number of vessels, Mine Counter Measures (MCM) capacity is required, and according to the Armed Forces, developed with new sensors and autonomous vehicles.

ABSTRACTThe discussions about energy use have increased year by year everywhere in the society, and so also in the healthcare sector. But what is actually energy use in a hospital facility, and what affects it?The typical way today to express the energy use is in kWh/m2. The problem with a key performance indicator that is expressed as energy use in relation to a specific area is that it does not take into account the activity in the building. Even though the activity to a very high extent affects the energy use.

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is the major form of certification system in Swedish forestry today and its more than 11 million hectares are covering almost half of the total productive forest area in the country. Its regulations prescribe that at least 10 wind firm trees should be left behind after every clear cutting operation. This study have taken place on 30 recently clearcut objects in Bergslagen, Sweden, were an inventory of the standing stock have been made. The research shows that, with 90 % security, the retained trees together contain 9-13 m3sk per hectare. Pine is the dominant tree and it covers more than half the numbers of retained trees and its volume cover 65 % of the retained trees total volume. Spruce is on second place with 30 % of the retained trees, but only 21 % of the standing stock.

It is important to identify the consequences of alcohol consumption among university students since over-consumption can lead to health problems and poorer academic performance. The following personality factors, neuroticism, conscientiousness and extraversion, have in previous studies shown to be related to alcohol consumption  and shown to be associated with the university students' alcohol use and living arrangements. This study examines the following question; Is there a link between university students' alcohol consumption, and;1) the personality factors neuroticism, conscientiousness, extraversion?2) their living situation?3) personality factors and living situation together?Participating in this survey was one hundred university students with a mean age of 23.4 years (SD = 2.6). To examine participants' personality, alcohol consumption and living arrangements, the NEO Five-Factor Inventory (Costa, McCrae, 2003) questionnaire was used and the questionnaire also contained self-constructed questions about drinking habits, living arrangements and demographic questions. This study's results indicate that neuroticism, conscientiousness, living situation and extraversion predicts alcohol consumption (R2 = .354, p <.001). Thus, students who have these personality traits and circumstances one by one or together have a increased risk for alcohol over-consumption..

Sammanfattning:Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskor är utsatta för stora fysiska och psykiska påfrestningar i sitt dagliga arbete. Det ställs höga krav på kunnande och skicklighet och förutsättningarna för att utföra jobbet, som inte alltid är optimalt. Enligt socialstyrelsen har de senaste årens neddragningar och omorganisationer inom hälso- och sjukvården bidragit till att antalet långtidssjukskrivningar relaterad till stress och utbrändhet har ökat. Sjuksköterskor upplever att det är många faktorer som försvårar utövandet av professionen och att svårigheter med att praktisera den vård man önskar kan ge en känsla av otillräcklighet.Syftet med denna studie är att ta reda på om sjuksköterskor vid Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala upplever sig otillräcklig i sin yrkesroll och om antal år på arbetsplatsen påverkar upplevelsen. I syftet ingår att studera om känslor av otillräcklighet beror på yttre organisatoriska faktorer eller om upplevelserna kommer inifrån den enskilda individen.Metod: Empirisk kvantitativ tvärsnittsstudie.

The last hundred years humans have drastically changed the amount of available nitrogen in nature. Today human activities release twice as much available nitrogen as all natural processes are doing together. We also have degraded nature´s possibilities to take care of nitrogen through the draining of wetlands and straightening of rivers. In order to regain the potential of nitrogen retention in the water systems there now requires a reshape of the landscape we live in. A planned expansion of the mining activities in Garpenberg, Dalarna, would double the content of nitrogen in the waters below the mine.

Denna rapport fokuserar på vilka skillnader och likheter det finns mellan ledarskapsstilar inom privat och offentlig sektor. Rapporten använder sig av ett statistiskt underlag som tagits fram med hjälp av beteendeprofileringsverktyget Interpersonal Dynamics Inventory (IDI). Dessutom har ett flertal intervjuer genomförts med utvalda ledare inom privat och offentlig sektor. Rapporten undersöker vilka ledarskapstilar som finns och vilka som är vanligast förekommande. Rapporten tar även upp viktiga faktorer som skiljer den privata sektorn från den offentliga.Syftet med denna rapport är att identifiera skillnader och likheter vad gäller ledarskapsstilar inom privat och offentlig sektor.

This report is the result of a thesis carried out during the spring of 2010 at Sandvik Coromant in Gimo. The purpose of this thesis has been to make an inventory and mapping of information used by flow groups that are most relevant for the day-to-day work. This mapping will then form the basis for information supplied by an automated system.The project consisted of:Identifying how the information is supplied today.Inquiring into the needs of an automated system.Which needs of information that will be provided by the system.Data collection occurred in two ways, both through observations and interviews. Observations of the participants were carried out early in the thesis, where the aim was to create a picture of the problem, and gradually develop a basis for the actual interview study. At each observation, an unstructured observation was used, which means that all activity was recorded.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om en möjlighet att prata ut ger upphov till skillnader i självskattad psykisk och fysisk hälsa mellan två grupper kvinnliga undersköterskor vid ett svenskt sjukhus. Den ena gruppen på 25 personer har vid en arbetsomställning fått behålla sin tjänst och den andra gruppen på tio personer har blivit omplacerad på andra avdelningar inom organisationen. Vad som också skiljer grupperna åt är att lämnargruppen har fått en möjlighet att tala ut om vad de känner i samband med omställningen. Följande självskattningsformulär har använts: Forsman & Johnsons test om självkänsla (SES), Pennebaker Inventory of Limbid Languidness (PILL), KASAM och Levels of Emotional Awarenness (LEAS). Inga signifikanta skillnader mellan grupperna framkommer vad det gäller självskattad psykisk och fysisk hälsa.

The aims of the silvicultural method natural regeneration of spruce (Picea abies L. Karst) in birch (Betula pendula and pubescens) shelterwoods are to establish a new stand of tree seedl-ings and to protect those from high groundwater levels, frost damages and grass competition during its first life years. The aim of this work has been to (i) describe how shelterwood and stand characteristics influ-ence the results from using natural regeneration of spruce protected by a shelterwood of birch, and to (ii) compare those regeneration results with planting of spruce after soil scarification in clear-cut areas. Totally 17 harvesting sites have been inventoried and 15 of those included natural regenera-tion in birch shelterwoods, and two were subjects to soil scarification and planting of spruce. The sites represented 7-10 year old final cuts and are located in the coastal (eastern) region of the province of Norrbotten in Sweden. In all areas shelterwood and stand characteristics, as well as the number of main crop seedlings and the height of the highest main crop spruce seedling, were estimated and registered in all areas.

Introduction: Anxiety and depression are common among patients enrolled in psychiatric outpatient care. Ear Acupuncture is an alternative form of treatment that has been shown to relieve anxiety and depression in previous studies.Aim: To evaluate ear acupuncture as a group treatment for depression and anxietyMethod: A psychiatric outpatient clinic has been offering group treatments with ear acupuncture for anxiety and depression for 5 weeks. Participants of the study have answered self-rating scales Montgomery Åsberg Depression Rating Scale, Beck Anxiety Inventory and Sheehan Disability scale before and after the treatment period. Material was collected in the period 2008-2012 and has been analyzed in SPSS.Results: Data from 31 patients were included in the study. The results from the study showed a significant difference, between the measurements before and after treatment, with a reduction of the average values in the three different scales.Summary: From this study, it is difficult to draw any conclusions about the effect of ear acupuncture.

Psykisk ohälsa påverkar inte bara individen negativt utan även hela samhället med höga kostnader för vård och sociala system som följd. Stress är en av orsakerna till att den psykiska ohälsan ökar i Sverige idag. Detta sker främst bland ungdomar, unga vuxna och bland kvinnor. Hur stress påverkar individen beror på kapacitet att handskas med olika situationer som uppstår detta kallas copingstrategier. Denna studies syfte är att undersöka om könstillhörighet påverkar val av copingstrategi samt att se vilka copingstrategier som är mest förekommande hos studenter på en högskola i Mellansverige.Metoden som används är en kvantitativ studie med ett ändamålsenligt urval.
