Although the importer in most cases, until this day, has been left outside this focus, it has been showed that the importer often is the active participant in an international dyad. Children and teenagers of today have grown up with digital media. According to Olle Findahl's report "The Swedes and the Internet" (2009), adults as well as children are online more and more. Our experience is that at many workplaces as good as everyone use computers and everyone is expected to have digital skills. However at most schools the reality is far from this. Today, maintenance is a big part of the daily life on board ships. It is also one of the bigger expenses a shipping company has and without any loss of quality tries to run as economically advantageous as possible. In the hunt for economical savings the shore-based industry has subsequently applied the use of condition based maintenance, CBM, were a component is maintained according to its actual state. This leads to a reduction of maintenance costs since no parts are unnecessarily replaced. However, within the maritime sector a periodical maintenance is still the most commonly used maintenance system.The purpose of this paper is to chart the factors that are the reason for the low implementation of CBM on board the Swedish merchant fleet's ships.

Arbetets syfte var att undersöka intentionen och förväntade effekter av den nyasjöarbetskonventionen som nu ska implementeras vad gäller bemanningsnivåer ochvilotider på svenska fartyg. Genom att först genomföra en litteraturstudie lades grundenför arbetet. Med anledning av att konventionen inte var implementerad genomfördes enkvalitativ intervjustudie mot tre sakkunniga representanter från svensk sjöfartsnäring föratt utreda vad konventionens verkliga intention var. Därefter genomfördes en kvalitativintervjustudie mot fyra aktörer i den svenska sjöfartsnäringen för att utreda vad dessaförväntade sig för effekter av konventionen, gällande bemanningsnivåer och vilotider.Resultatet av undersökningarna visade på att konventionens intention är att höja deninternationella standarden vad gäller just bemanningsnivåer och vilotider till en nivåsom liknar den svenska relativt höga nivån. Vad gäller förväntade effekter avkonventionen tror de svenska aktörerna att den svenska sjöfartsbranschen kommer att seganska små förändringar om några alls..

By using univariate analysis, tobit and logit regressions, this thesis investigates determinants of asset writedowns. After controlling for variables indicating reductions in asset values, the results show that changes in senior management are significant in explaining the writedown decision and magnitude, which is in line with previous research. The explanatory power of changes in senior management has not increased with the transition to IFRS in 2005. No evidence is found supporting the hypothesis that the explanatory power of management incentives is higher for more discretionary types of asset writedowns..

Denna studie redovisar den frivilliga information som svenska VD och koncernchefer tar upp i VD orden i sina årsredovisningar. Syftet är att analysera var Sveriges redovisningsutveckling är på väg, genom att bland annat ställa de svenska VD orden i jämförelse med utvecklingen av öppenhet i årsredovisningar inom detta område i framför allt USA och Storbritannien. De undersökta VD orden kommer från årsredovisningarna hos de 18 svenska börsnoterade företag med högst värde på sin aktieomsättning år 2005. Eftersom det fortfarande inte finns någon fullständig teori inom detta område har ett induktivt förhållningssätt använts. Denna kandidatuppsats har analyserat interna parametrar som påverkarlönsamhetsmåttet RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room/intäkt per tillgängligt rum)för hotellföretag i staden Göteborg. Syftet är att få en djupare förståelse för vilkainterna parametrar som påverkar lönsamhet, samt hur och i vilken utsträckning.Studien baserades på en teoretisk referensram bestående av ?Resource-based view?och flertal tidigare studier inom ämnet. Det senare ledde till ett val av tio internaparametrar, med tillhörande hypoteser för undersökningen. Empirin framställdes avinsamlade värden från ett urval på 34 hotellföretag.
