The aim of this Master's thesis is to study whether bibliometrics can serve as a method to analyse the humanities.To investigate this a literature study was conducted that examined previous studies concerning bibliometrics and the humanities. Furthermore a bibliometric analysis of comparative literature was carried out. These research findings were then further examined through the perspective of theories on intellectual and social organization of the scienceThe bibliometrical study includes 38 literature journals (11 855 articles in total) which were downloaded from ISI's Web of Science. The material was analysed by using co-citation analysis and co-word analysis. The results of the study are presented in five co-citation Maps.

Denna rapport har undersökt om game metrics genom heat Maps kan användas för att hitta en choke point i en bana gjord till spelet Team Fortress 2. Game metrics och kvantitativa  metoder  erbjuder  ett  objektivt  och  nästan  automatiserat  alternativ  till kvalitativa metoder när det kommer till balansering. En bana har konstruerats med en choke point och har speltestats för att generera en heat map. För att undersöka om det går att hitta en choke point med hjälp av en heat map så har en enkät gjorts där respondenter   bads   hitta   choke   pointen   med   hjälp   av   den   heat   mapen   som genererades från speltestningen av banan. Alla respondenter lyckades hitta mitten av choke  pointen  med  hjälp  av  heat  mapen.  I  framtiden  skulle  arbetet  kunna  utökas genom  att  undersöka  om  användandet  av  bottar  eventuellt  skulle  helt  kunna automatisera  balanseringsprocessen.  Det  skulle  också  gå  att  undersöka  hur  olika klasser rör sig i en bana..

I mitt examensarbete har jag undersökt om det lämpar sig att använda en manuell metod för att skapa normal Maps till icke-organiska polygonmodeller avsedda för datorspel. Jag har använt mig av Photoshop för att måla normal Maps som jag sedan applicerar på lågdetaljerade modeller jag skapat, för att höja detaljgraden avsevärt. Då icke-organisk modellering inbegriper modeller som ska representera hårda ytor, och därmed inte animeras med deformation, så antog jag att denna metod skulle lämpa sig väldigt väl åt dessa ytor som ofta har extremt mjuka former och precisa vassare kanter. Min metod har varit att studera litteratur om Normal Mapping och hur man använder Photoshop för detta. Jag har sedan utfört praktiskt arbete för att utvärdera hur effektiv metoden är samt vilka fördelar den bidrar med. Jag går igenom teori för normal mapping som jag stödjer med hjälp av faktatexter och instruktions-DVDer i ämnet för att sedan redovisa metoden jag använt i mitt arbete. Jag avslutar sedan med en diskussion kring mitt resultat och redovisar vad jag kommit fram till genom mina experiment. Jag kommer fram till att Normal Mapping med Photoshop är mycket väl lämpat åt hårda ytor och även bidrar med optimeringar i arbetsflödet både vad gäller organisering, tidsåtgång samt kontroll över resultatet.

Mobile Arts have a technical platform for handling Maps and community-featured Points of Interest in cellular phones, where the users themselves can share locations with other users either in groups or public. Development of the platform regarding network communication has been included in this paper. The work evaluates different feasible business models regarding packaging the platform as a commercial application and also faces issues users have when using the product. Even if users found Maps and POI interesting and cool in cellulars, the technical difficulties and lack of product focus during beta testing, were present. Therefore, the writers recommendation is more development of the platform and using a business model where Mobile Arts deliver to existing communities.

Birger Hjørland?s socio-epistemological domain analytic paradigm is applied. As methods, Hjørland suggests eleven approaches, and from them he emphasizes especially the importance of the historical and epistemological approaches.In this paper three questions are analysed.

Web pages are visited through a variety of different devices with varying screensizes. One method for adapting web pages to this variety is called responsive design. Geographical information, often in the form of embedded Maps, is common on the web. The combination of responsive design and geographical information has been shown to lead to interaction problems and is therefore assumed to need special considerations. This thesis examines this combination and investegates how presentation of geographical information can be adapted to responsive web design.

Precis som titeln avslöjar så handlar rapporten om att ta fram en AJAX-driven webbapplikation för sökning av sålda fastigheter.Gota Media AB har idag tillgång till en stor mängd lagrad information om sålda fastigheter i form av XML som kommer från Lantmäteriet. Enligt Gota Media så finns det ett stort behov av att skapa en sökbar webbapplikation till de nättidningar som de tillhandahåller som presenterar informationen för deras läsare.Syftet är att visa hur utvecklingen kan underlättas med hjälp av ramverket CodeIgniter och att ge svar på ett antal frågeställningar om hur webbapplikationen kan utvecklas för att uppfylla ett flertal krav från kunden.Genom att använda CodeIgniter tillsammans med ett flertal tekniker som Google Maps, CURL, AJAX och jQuery så kunde samtliga baskrav från kunden uppfyllas och ett bra resultat presenteras i form av en fullt fungerande webbapplikation..

Målet med detta examensarbete var att utveckla en applikation på hemsidan www.gratisbio.se som kunde presentera medlemmarnas positioner på en karta. För att erhålla positioneringsdatan utnyttjades redan befintlig teknik som telefonoperatörerna tillhandahöll. Utvecklingsarbetet innefattade ett web-interface där relevant information kunde visas samt själva kartan som ritades upp med hjälp av Google Maps. Klientdelen av arbetet skrevs i html och JavaScript och serverdelen i PHP, utöver dessa användes format som XML, WSDL och JSON för att skicka information mellan klient och server. Den färdiga produkten utformades med Gratisbios allmänna utseende i åtanke. Applikationen använder samma färgschema och design vilket gör att den passar naturligt in på sidan. En utvärdering gjordes också för att se vilka ytterligare tjänster som skulle kunna tänkas vara intressanta för Gratisbio när det gäller positionering av mobiler.

Today digital guides are most frequently used by the museum and tourism industries. They are also used for education purposes. They make it possible to distribute information and have it easily accessible. In addition to written information they add sound, pictures and videos which lift the whole impression of the visited place to a higher level. A variety of systems currently in use today have been evaluated.

This bachelor thesis is written as a part of the geography program at Stockholm University, Sweden, and the study was conducted from April to June 2012.Tuberculosis (TB) is an airborne disease and one of the most widespread infectious diseases in the world with more than nine million new cases each year (SMI 2012, digital source). The disease is a major source of death and suffering in many places and the number of deaths remains high despite the availability of highly efficacious treatment. To control and prevent further spread of TB, the mapping of the disease spatial distribution is of essential importance.In this study, Maps were produced that shows the spatial distribution of TB between the years 2002 to 2011 in the municipality of Stockholm. These Maps allow an analysis of the spatial distribution at a local scale over time.The aim of this paper is to study how the spatial distribution of TB has looked like in the municipality of Stockholm the last 10 years and to analyze why the spatial distribution of the disease looked like it did. This study is based on the hypothesis ?drift?.

The aim of the study is to show how a selected part of the European Language Portfolio, ELP, can support the assessment process for teachers. All the checklists at level A1 and My Language Goals from the Language Biography, a part of the ELP, are implemented and communicated in teaching in a 4th grade class of students. Two teachers are interviewed and both of their classes are compared in the study. One group worked for two weeks with the selected part of the Language Portfolio and the second group followed the regular curriculum for the same period of time. The teachers are interviewed before and after the ELP through support of mind Maps.Results show that by using checklists at level A1 and My Language Goals students become aware of their own learning process.
