User education is an important aspect of university libraries' service to its users. This Masters' Thesis is about online user education. The aim of this study is to analyse five Swedish online user courses in relation to information literacy and learning theory. The web-sites were explored through textual analyses to find how concepts of information literacy and learning theory are expressed. The theoretical framework is based on Carol C Kuhlthau's three levels of user education, Paul Ramsden's three theories of teaching in higher education and Christine Bruce's different aspects of information literacy.

This paper examines family owned tourism businesses with a special focus on succession. In Nordic countries tourism has been widely promoted and used in rural development as a replacement economy for ?traditional? livelihoods based on rural production. Because the tourism and hospitality industry, especially in rural areas, is dominated by family enterprises, the topic of succession is of great relevance for tourism and tourism destinations. This paper looks at family businesses? special characteristics, challenges and advantages in terms of ownership structure, lifestyle, motivations, employees and destination impact.

In this diploma work we present the results from a study of how adult immigrants utilise the services provided by the public library in Biskopsgården, Gothenburg. A survey encompassing 51 library visitors of foreign origin and an interview with two librarians at the library were performed.The results from the survey show that the majority of the informants were male students inages from 26 to 45 years and that they had been living in Sweden for a maximum of five years. 73% of the informants used the library to borrow literature in Swedish, 53% to read newspapers and periodicals in their native language, 43% to borrow literature in their native language and 43% to read newspapers and periodicals in Swedish.These results were compared with two other related studies with which partial correspondencewas found. Alcohol consumption and student life have been connected through many years. Many people establish their drinking habits during their years as a student and drinking habits among students are therefore an extremely important topic. The aim of this study was to examine the drinking habits of students at Växjö University. The study included 98 respondents who answered a survey concerning sex, age, living status, social relations, social desirability and drinking habits. The result indicated that male students consumed more alcohol than female students.

Idag riktar många butiker in sig på sina kvinnliga kunder. De är väl omtalat hur kvinnor handlar och att de ser shopping som ett nöje. Butikerna sätter upp erbjudande för att locka kvinnor att handla mer och göra dem tillfredsställda; då kommer de tillbaka igen. Det läggs inte ner lika mycket tid och engagemang på de manliga kunderna, då det finns olika teorier som säger att män inte tycker om att shoppa. A personality test is a useful tool in recruitment contexts. Studies have shown that participants distort their answers in a socially desirable manner. The purpose of this study was to investigate if people respond more or less socially desirable depending on how they rate themselves in a personality test, based on the "big five" personality dimensions.Eighty people, (40 women and 40 men), 19-42 years, (M= 24,1 SD= 3,76) rated themselves on a personality test. Group one, (20 women and 20 men) completed the test on paper. Group two, (20 women and 20 men) completed the test verbally.

AbstractIn this text the attitudes towards and using of blogs in teaching Swedish toteenagers will be explored. The results are based on a survey made amongst 17teachers and 58 students from all over Sweden. The end results show that theusage of blog still hasn?t found a permanent way into the classrooms, but has anappeal to and is being used by predominantly younger teachers both, male andfemale, with a positive response from students regardless of gender. Ground construction has to a large extent been dominated by traditional meth-ods during the last 50 years. Although the construction has been changed meanwhile innovations are not accepted. Förmågan att i dagens organisationer effektivt genomföra och arbeta med förändringar betonas i allt högre utsträckning. Mot bakgrund av detta och på grund av vårt intresse för kvinnligt ledarskap har vi gjort en undersökning för att få förståelse för om och, i så fall, hur en organisations förändringsarbete påverkas om det är en kvinnlig alternativt en manlig ledare. Vi har använt oss av befintlig teori inom ledarskap och förändring, medan den empiriska studien, i form av intervjuer, genomfördes på två företag där två av personerna har en kvinnlig ledara och de andra två en manlig ledare. Resultatet som vi kom fram till var att det fanns vissa skillnader i kvinnligt respektive manligt ledarskap vid förändring, men att likheterna könen emellan trots allt var övervägande..

Problemformulering: . Idag såväl som historiskt har chefspositionerna dominerats av män, vilket har resulterat i att de flesta människor förknippar en ledare med en man. På den svenska arbetsmarknaden innehar män sammanlagt 71 procent av alla chefspositioner (SCB 2008). Framgångsrika ledare beskrivs således ofta av vad som vanligtvis associeras med maskulinitet. Den maskulina könsmärkningen av ledarskapet har bland annat bidragit till att minska kvinnliga chefers handlingsutrymme att utöva ledarskap jämfört med män.

Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis) is not considered to be a native species to Swedish forests. It´s origin is the pacific coast of Northern America, an area that is dominated by a coastal climate which makes it likely to believe that it would be well suited for growing in the south-west of Sweden. This study aims to investigate the gain in production that can be reached by growing sitka spruce instead of Norway spruce (Picea abies) in the county of Halland. A regression model based on data from forest experiments was produced to explain the gain in production. This model was based on elevation and annual precipitation. The model was then used to create a map layer in arcGIS that shows the gain of volume in comparison to Norway spruce in percent. An analysis was carried out to find what share of the forestland in Halland county that fell into four different classes of production gain.

I uppsatsen görs en läroboksanalys av samhällskunskapsläroböcker från 1970-tal och 2000-tal. Samtliga läroböcker som ingår i analysen vänder sig till elever i gymnasieskolan. Fokus för analysen är hur arbetsmarknadens parter framställs under 1970-talet, respektive under 2000-talet. Framställningen av dessa aktörer kopplas bl.a. till samhällsutvecklingen och till för tiden gällande styrdokument.  .

Därmed är rekrytering en av de viktigaste funktionerna inom HRför att attrahera rätt kompetens till organisationen då en misslyckad rekryteringvanligen leder till bortkastad tid och dyra rekryteringsprocesser. Något somkommit att få allt större betydelse vid urvalet och bedömningen av nyamedarbetare är kandidaters personlighet. Forskning visar att personlighetsdragspelar en stor roll när det kommer till framtida arbetsprestationer och förmågan attgöra rätt bedömningar av människor är därför central. Teorier om synen påpersonlighet, kompetens, kompetensbaserad rekrytering och urval samtbedömningsmetoder och personlighetsbedömning används för att analyserastudiens resultat.Denna kvalitativa studies övergripande syfte var att öka förståelsen för hurrekryterare bedömer en kandidats personlighet vid en rekryteringsprocess inombemanningsföretag.
