This paper is an analysis of the novel Season of Migration to The North by Tayeb Salih. Season of Migration to The North was first published in 1967 and it is the most accomplished among several works in modern Arabic literature.I shall focus on one of the two major characters, Mustafa Said, a young Sudanese student whose brilliant career at school in Sudan and Cairo eventually brings him to England; he has a successful academic career in England as a lecturer at the University of London.One of the major themes of the novel is the confrontation between Mustafa Said and England, which in other terms is described as the confrontation between East and West. The conflict is rooted in colonialism. Mustafa Said?s native country, Sudan, was a British colony when the story takes place.

Demens är den fjärde vanligaste dödsorsaken i västvärlden och Alzheimers är den vanligaste demenssjukdomen. Sjukdomen börjar oftast med smygande symtom och utvecklas under ett par år. Det finns idag behandling för Alzheimers men det är endast bromsmediciner, något botemedel finns ännu inte. Om diagnosen Alzheimers ska delges eller inte för patienten har idag blivit ett debattämne.

När ett barn brännskadas upplever föräldrarna kaos och som sjukvårdspersonal måste omvårdnaden fokuseras på två patienter, barnet och föräldrarna. Bemötandet av föräldrar i kris är avgörande för hur den traumatiska händelsen bearbetas. Litteraturstudiens syfte är att beskriva föräldrars reaktioner när deras barn utsatts för en traumatisk händelse, i form av brännskada. Resultatet visar att när ett barn brännskadas utsätts föräldrarna för akuta stressreaktioner och ett flertal psykiska påfrestningar. Oavsett om föräldrarna varit närvarande vid traumat upplever de skuldkänslor gentemot sitt barn.

The aim of this study is to illuminate factors in nurses´ work, which can cause a state of exhaustion called burn out. The results indicate that work related mental illness is a lengthy process that gives rise to both physical and psychical problems. These problems might lead to a state of burn out. However, several authors prefer to use expressions like exhaust syndrome or exhaust depression as they are criticising the concept of burn out. The study is a literature analysis of 11 scientific articles that have been scrutinized using the criterions presented by Polit et al (2001).

In this paper I have examined how the structure of society affects the characters in the movies of Gus Van Sant, and what there is that characterizes Van Sant as an auteur. I have also looked at the thematics and how the characters develop throughout from his first movie Mala Noche (US 1985) until one of his latest Milk (US 2008). Van Sant is open with his Homosexuality and those perspectives are of major importance for this study. He presents how his characters try to live a normal life in a society that is not made for them. I have chosen to analyze five different movies.

This thesig will portray the different types of students at the programs of library studiesin Lund &d Umeå.The study is based upon quantitative information gathered from a survey, which wasdistributed to first-year students in Lund and Umeå. The survey was followed by qualitativeinterviews with four students, and with the director of studies from each school.The study shows that the programs, as we11 as the students, are very similar, althoughthere are some minor diferences. It seemed that the students at Umeå were moreinterested4n culture than those at Lund.A certain connection between the aim at information and the ownership of a computercould be detected. The sex of the students played a major part in their choice of education.The attractors and facilitators, used by Lortie in his study, could also be appliedto the students at the program of library studies in our thesis..

Crohn?s sjukdom är en kronisk, inflammatorisk tarmsjukdom som uppträder i skov. Hela magtarmkanalen kan drabbas av inflammationen, vanligast är dock ileum och colon. Orsaken är ännu okänd. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att undersöka vuxna individers upplevelser av Crohn?s sjukdom, om sjukdomen påverkar livskvaliteten samt fysiska och psykiska aspekter.

This study is focused on small scale water and wastewater handling in Sweden. The study is divided into two major parts; the first describes common methods for water- and wastewater handling and the second part is a case study on three small and expensive systems in Gällivare municipality, in the north of Sweden. In the case study, abilitys for the local government to hand over unwanted systems to the water users is investigated and found to be a plausible solution to cut costs for two out of the three studied systems. In the third case, water and wastewater systems is not recommended to be handed over but other ways of cutting costs are suggested..

Nya forskningsrön tyder på att ett dynamiskt samspel mellan negativa och positiva känslotillstånd påverkar kreativiteten positivt. Entreprenörer som upplever starka positiva och negativa känslotillstånd borde därför bli mer kreativa, vilket underlättar drivandet av verksamheten samt ökad möjlighetsidentifiering. En intervjustudie och en enkätstudie genomfördes för att undersöka sambandet.

Den nya livssituationen kan bli omskakande och risken för negativ påverkan på livskvaliteten är stor. Syfte: Syftet var att genom en litteraturstudie belysa vilka faktorer som påverkar livskvalitet hos personer som laryngektomeras på grund av huvudhalscancer.Metod: Systematisk litteraturstudie genomfördes. 15 artiklar analyserades och sorterades in i Huvudkategorier och Subkategorier.Resultat: Faktorer som påverkade livskvalitet var fysiska faktorer, nutritionsrelaterade faktorer, kommunikationsmetoder, kommunikationsförmåga, ekonomi, sociala faktorer, depression och information. Slutsat: Livskvaliteten påverkas efter total laryngektomi.
