This study examines how Sweden?s four biggest newspapers deal with the attacks in Oslo and on Utøya the 22nd of July 2011. This date, where the ethnic Norwegian Anders Behring Breivik, bombed the goverment headquarter and killed 69 people at a political camp, will be remembered for a long period of time.  With its critical perspective, this study examines a total of thirteen news articles published within eight days after the attacks in Oslo and on Utøya, to see in what way the Swedish news papers constructs Breivik as a person. Furthermore the study examines in what way the Swedish newspapers makes connections to Sweden and to what extent speculation is used in the news articles. The theoretical premises for the study are the critical discourse analysis, and key elements within it that is used are ideology, discourse and micro- and Macro analysis. The conclusion shows that Swedish newspapers are disposed to construct Breivik as a unique individual who falls outside the normative scopes in their explanations of a murderer or a terrorist.

Pharmaceuticals that are found in marine ecosystems are a threatening environmental concern, which is known to harm both animal and plant life. One of the reasons for this problem is that the waste water treatment techniques are not optimized to clear waste water from its pharmaceuticals contain. In this master thesis four Swedish treatment wetlands were studied, and their ability to reduce numerous pharmaceuticals in waste water. The four treatment wetlands that were studied were those in Oxelösund, Trosa, Nynäshamn and Eskilstuna. Two ecotoxicological tests and chemical analysis were used.

Hedgefonder är en relativt ny investeringsform på den svenska marknaden. Dessa fonder karakteriseras av att oavsett marknadsutvecklingen uppnå en positiv absolut avkastning med låg risk. Hedgefonder är en förvaltningsform med stor variation vilket medför att de kan karakteriseras som en heterogen grupp av fonder, dock med vissa gemensamma drag. I denna studie har jag valt att jämföra fyra olika hedgestrategier med traditionell förvaltning i riskjusterad avkastning. Då hedgefonders avkastningsmönster ofta inte är normalfördelade tappar Mean-Variance måtten sin exakthet.

Denna rapport beskriver ett examensarbete på 30 högskolepoäng som utförts under fjärde och sista terminen på Magisterprogrammet i Industridesign vid högskolan i Jönköping. Projektet är ett samarbete med Macro International AB i Genevad. Företaget utvecklar, producerar och säljer produkter för badrum.Uppgiften var att ta fram en badrumsmöbelserie som är nytänkande i sin utformning och väsentligt skiljer sig från de produkter som finns på marknaden idag och samtidigt stämmer överens med företagets kärnvärden.Projektet har genomförts med designprocessen som stöd. Mycket fokus har lagts på att undersöka marknaden och att ta reda på vad kunderna efterfrågar. Detta har gjorts genom besök hos återförsäljare, intervjuer och enkätundersökning.

The integration policy aims to integrate newly arrived immigrants (nyanlända invandrare), whereas the minority policy aims to maintain and strengthen the rights of the national minorities. The national minorities are though, at times, included into the integration policy, even though they hold a minority status in Sweden. This paper aims to, through discourse analysis, investigate the research question: ?how is the content of integration referred to, when it is related to immigrants, contra when it is related to national minorities?.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate three search engines with regard to retrieval effectiveness of information specific to Swedish users. Coverage and the precision in result descriptions are also examined. The three selected search engines are Google, MSN Search and Svesök. 30 queries were tested against the search engines and the first 20 result descriptions and results were judged for relevancy. Relevancy was judged by a binary scale.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate and compare the retrieval effectiveness of two search engines on the Internet: Svensk Medicin and Google Scholar. Svensk Medicin is a medicine-specific search engine and Google Scholar specialises in indexing scholarly material. A set of 20 questions in four categories were used to conduct the searches with the search engines. Genuine medical information needs were selected from a question collection provided by the television program Fråga doktorn. The relevance of the first 10 retrieved documents was judged by using a binary scale and the measure used was precision.

The purpose of this Bachelor thesis in Economics at Lund University is to try to establish the correlation between the value change of retail real estate buildings in Sweden and Macro economic variables. The principal method is the multiple regression model and it is used to estimate the basic model. The basic model is enhanced by estimating some 30 models and the result is two good models. The difference between the basic model and the two better models are small but important. In the lagged basic model, the same variables are used as in the basic model but with different time lags.

Ill health takes different expressions during different periods in life and habits during the early years affect the health during the rest of the lifetime. Bronfenbrenners ecological systems theory has been used as a theoretical starting point in this cross-sectional study. The aim of this study was to identify differences in self-rated health and health-related factors between boys and girls and between the compulsory school and the upper secondary school in Sundbyberg municipality as a basis for the planned activity in the Young Women?s shelter in Sundbyberg, as well as in other municipalities A questionnaire consisting of 24 questions based on different variables has identified disparities in health and health-related factors between boys and girls in Sundbyberg municipality (n=323). This paper found pronounced differences between the sexes in terms of sex and relationships, security, emotional support and psychosomatic complaints.

Problem: Trots att betalkort funnits länge i samhället, så används idag kontanter fortfarande i stor utsträckning. Handhavandet av kontanter innebär höga kostnader, dels på grund av extraarbetet det innebär för butiker att räkna pengar varje dag, dels för bankpersonal som ska sköta insättningar och uttag och dels för kostnader till vaktbolag som sköter penningtransporter. Om man vet varför kontanter fortfarande används till så stor utsträckning och till vad, så kan man rikta in sina insatser på var man ska öka betalkortsanvändningen. Avgränsningar: Fokus i denna uppsats är på samtliga svenska konsumenter som har rättighet att få ha betalkort från en bank. Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka om produktegenskaper såsom pris och kvalité påverkar valet om att betala med kort eller kontant. Metod: Undersökningen är genomförd som en kvantitativ undersökning.

The purpose of this paper is to apply the Dual-Effect hypothesis in Pritmani, Shome and Singal paper (2003), in order to analyze the exchange rate exposure on firms listed on the U.K. market. The study will examine if the foreign involvement of the firm will affect the share price of the firm.In addition to evaluating the Dual-Effect hypothesis in Pritmani et. al. (2003), we will evaluate the effect of foreign interest rates impact on U.K.

The discussion regarding international aid tends to be highly debated for long periods of time. Some individuals are very positive towards aid and some individuals are less positive towards aid. This study aims to broaden the understanding of the aspects behind that. The previous research tends to focus on aid allocation within the EU, or which Macro factors could influence which donor countries give to which recipient countries. This study aims to add to the research with which aspects at the individual level can influence the individual's attitude towards international aid from the EU.
