Empirin som samlas in består av texter skrivna påInstagramkontot MACHOkulturen samt tankar och åsikter från tre fokusgruppsintervjuer medmän mellan 20-30 år. Empirin presenteras och analyseras med hjälp av narrativanalys.Resultatet i studien visar att uppfattningen om MACHOkultur påverkar maskuliniteter beroendepå var en man står i genushierarkin inom hegemonisk maskulinitet. Platsen i hierarkin avgörom en man får ingå i homosocialitet och MACHOkultur..

The intention of this qualitative study is to describe and analyse women's violence against men from the perspective of authorities and volunteer organisations. Data has been collected trough semi-structured interviews with six respondents stemming from the police, social services and a help organisation for men respectively. The data has been analysed using existing research and common theories about power, sex and gender. The study shows that IPV does not only contain physical violence, but also acts of psychological-, sexual-, economical-, material-, and latent violence as well as the fact that one act of violence almost never exists alone. It is shown that women more often use psychological abuse against their partner then men do and also that men tend to stay longer in an abusive relationship then women.

The aim of this thesis is to study a job-searching process and elements that affects it. The elements I have focused on are gender, class and social network. The study is based on interviews and a survey study with students from the educational program of Social work (Socialomsorgsutbildningen), that graduated 3 years ago. Through the survey I have examined their social-background and their job-searching process. The interviews are the main focus in the study.

Ett av de mest notoriska dilemman i dagens kosmologi är den mörka materians natur och dess förekomst i universum. Mot bakgrund av detta har nya forskningsdiscipliner med rötterna i Einsteins relativitetsteori växt fram, bl.a. teorin om gravitationslinser som möjliggör en indirekt observationsmetod av ljussvaga kompakta objekt som annars skulle vara mycket svåra eller omöjliga att upptäcka på traditionella vis, såsom svarta hål.Via en genomgång av grundteorin för gravitationslinser, några enkla teoretiska studier och en grundläggande felmarginalsanalys illustreras hur olika typer av kompakta objekt i Vintergatans omedelbara omgivning kan ge upphov till vissa karakteristiska linsfenomen. Detta sätts i relation till rådande teorier om den tidigaste stjärnbildningen och de massiva kompakta rester som denna generation av mycket massiva stjärnor bör ha efterlämnat ? i synnerhet intermediära svarta hål med massor på 100-1000 Msol som ännu kan finnas i dagens mörka galaxhalor.

The last ten years two major movies about journalists have been made in Sweden; Sprängaren and Män som hatar kvinnor. This study has looked closer at the heroine Annika Bengtsson and the hero Mikael Blomkvist from these two movies. Since movies do have great influence on how we see the world it is important to find out how these characters are being portrayed. Also, in a time when journalism is about to become a female dominant occupation it is relevant to see how the female journalist compares to the male. It is important to ensure that the films do not give a wrongful picture of male and female journalists.

The aim of our study was to examine how homosexual and heterosexual men and women are represented in the Swedish magazine QX, a magazine for gay, bisexual and transgender people. We wanted to find out what kind of roles the persons in QX appears in, and inquire the relationships that exist between them.We analyzed the texts in twelve magazines, from December 2008 to November 2009, in order to get the most current results as possible. We used a discourse analysis, with focus on identities, relationships and the representation of the world. Representations, gender, hegemonic masculinity and stereotypes have been significant theories to analyze our results.The results showed that the successful gay man is the most important person in QX. He is the perfect masculine MACHO fagot, who is highest in rank.

During the last decade of the twentieth century both ?manhood? and gender studies seems to have undergone changes. With the field of masculinity and the critical studies of men, added as ?subsections? of broader gender studies, new knowledge has been produced to better grasp the production of gender and power relations of patriarchy. During the same decade as the ?metrosexual? first appeared of the urban stage, acts of homophobia and attitudes towards ?manhood? seems to have changed.

This study focus on how two local news papers in the northen part of Sweden reported about the investigation of illegal hunting, called Kalixhärvan, in the years of 1983-1984. The study also adress how this newspapers presented the agents that is mentioned in the newsarticles, who played an importent part during the investigation. The study is based on the analysis of eight articles involving the investigation. The aricales is selected from march 1983 to march 1984. The analys is made using the method of critical linguistics and with the theoretical ground in theories of masculinity and stereotypes.

It is a common-held belief that the social worker for the most part uses oneself as a ?tool? in working with clients. This study seeks to examine that ?tool? in the context of treatment of teenage boys with psychosocial problems such as criminal behavior, drug-abuse and/or abusive home environment. The main purpose is to identify the conceptions of masculinity, and more specific hegemonic and subordinated masculinity, of the professionals working with the boys.

Min avsikt med denna C-uppsats var att utifrån ett genusteoretiskt och diskursivt perspektiv studera hur tjejer och killar framställs i Big brother 2006. Jag ville titta på hur tjejerna representerades i programmet i jämförelse med killarna. Det gjorde jag med hjälp av relevanta moderna genusteorier samt forskning och reproduktion av genus i medierna. Slutligen analyserade jag en veckas avsnitt av dokusåpan Big brother där jag utgick ifrån det transkriberade materialet som jag valt ut. Materialet bestod av fyra avsnitt, måndag till torsdag, som spelades in mellan den 13- 16/2- 2006.

A Queer Reading of Charles Bukowski?s Women and Love is a dog from hellThis thesis aims to examine how the representation of gender is portrayed in relation to sex and power in Charles Bukowski?s novel Women and poetry collection Love is a dog from hell.The theoretical frame of the analysis is based on Judith Butler?s queer theory regarding the heterosexual matrix and gender performativity. The analysis consists of a textual comparison where a specific selection of poems is analysed parallel to the novel to see how they interact and how they oppose each other, through a queer reading.The analysis is divided in three parts where the first one discusses the construction of masculinity in Charles Bukowski?s protagonist Henry Chinaski and how this is presented differently in the two literary genres. The second part reveals how sex is presented in relation to power and how active and passive women are considered as sexually acceptable.

Denna studie är en arbetsmiljöanalys av LKABs förädlingsverk i Kiruna, Malmberget och Svappavaara. Syftet med studien har varit att med hjälp av deltagande observationer och analyser av avvikelserapporter analysera arbetsmiljön och säkerhetsarbetet ur ett medarbetar- och operativt perspektiv. De frågeställningar som legat till grund för studien har handlat om att identifiera brister i arbetsmiljön genom att fokusera på kommunikation, attityder och beteenden när det gäller säkerhetstänkande bland personalen.För att besvara studiens syfte och frågeställningar har avvikelserapporter från tre olika arbetsplatser på förädlingsverken inom LKAB studerats och analyserats. Dessa avvikelserapporter består av inrapporterade olyckor, risker och tillbud som inträffat under en tio års period. Utöver detta har även deltagande observationer gjorts på de tre olika orterna där totalt sex arbetsdagar med observationer utförts.

I feministiska studier är man inte sen med att påpeka att olika typer av kvinnligheter bäddar olika mycket för framgång i samhället. Trots att manligheten rimligen bör vara lika komplicerad talas det sällan om mannen på samma sätt vilket har lett till att många män känt sig knutna till en mansroll de finner svår att leva upp till. Vilken är denna eftersträvansvärda mansroll och vem är egentligen kapabel att uppnå den? Det är dessa funderingar som gjort mig nyfiken på maskulinitetsforskning och som ligger till grund för uppsatsens syfte. Jag har i uppsatsen utgått från att manlighet är en myt för att sedan studera hur denna myt kan tänkas ha konstruerats och omkonstruerats genom åren.
