Hur kan studenter spara pengar på sitt boende? Enligt SSCO är bostaden den tyngsta utgiftsposten för studenter. Genom att kombinera vandrarhem med studentbostäder kan man göra det möjligt för studenter att spara pengar på sitt boende då de t ex åker till sin hemstad - över helg liksom sommar. Genom att lägga till studieytor och kontorshotell skapas en flexibel byggnad som ger och tar av varandras ytor beroende på tid, dag och månad.Synen på material har också spelat stor del i projektet. Vad händer med befintligt material då en byggnad ska transformeras? .

Detta examensarbete omfattar utveckling och test av en metod för distribution av data i ett multidatabassystem. Testen av metoden har gjorts genom att den har implementerats i en fallstudie. Fallstudien berör en organisation som har behov av att integrera tre av sina databassystem. Detta för att information ska kunna utbytas mellan dessa. Integrationen av databassystemen har gjorts på ett sådant sätt att de data som distribueras från dessa skickas till en central databas, med SQL Server som databashanterare.Det verktyg som har valts att användas i examensarbetet för att lösa uppgiften är Data Transformation Services, DTS, i SQL Server..

Vi lämnar snart upplevelsesamhället bakom oss och går mot en ny tid. En tid där den hållbara utvecklingen spelar stor roll och människor kommer att existera i samförstånd med naturen istället för över den. Denna trend kallas det transmoderna samhället och identifierades av Luyckx (1998) samt Rodriguez (2001). Samtidigt talar Pine & Gilmore (1999) om transformationsupplevelser vilket innebär upplevelser av livsstilsförändrande art. Jag tyckte det var intressant att kombinera dessa begrepp och undersöka hur man kan skapa en transformationsupplevelse i syfte för en hållbar utveckling och en ökad livskvalitet och därmed bidra till ett transmodernt samhälle.

So- called ?Network Based Defense? (NBD) was introduced in Sweden in connection with the transformation of the Swedish Armed Forces in 1999. NBD is based on the U.S. variant Network Centric Warfare (NCW), which in turn is derived from research on the concept of Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA). In Sweden the concept was introduced and included not only the Armed Forces but was intended to also support the Swedish civilian agencies in order to create networks and hence share the available information and thus more effective crisis management and to provide more "bang for the buck." In developing the concept of NBD the Swedish Armed Forces used both economic and human resources, in the form of research, new technologies, new organization and new methods.Between year 2004 and 2006 the Armed Forces once again entered the process of reorganization.

The starting point of this study is that the news media in general strongly influence which topics determine the public agenda by their choice of what is considered newsworthy. The study is based on articles from two major Swedish daily newspapers, Svenska Dagbladet and Dagens Nyheter. The aim of our thesis is to establish how the environmental public debate as portrayed in the newspaper corresponds to the environmental discussion within the scientific (subject matter expert) field, that is taught by the academic institutions, or if the two materially differ. The environmental communication discourse at the academic institutions advocates ?episodic? formation as the driving force behind transformation of attitudes and behavioral preconceptions. This episodic formation is aimed at incentivizing change by creating intimacy to the incident by linking cause and consequence to the individual citizen instead of to society as a whole.

En publicerad metod för undersökning av noggrannhet hos DNA polymeraser har undersökts. Metoden bygger på in vitro replikation av lacZ? genen i pUC18 och identifiering av mutationer genom blå vit selektion efter transformation av reaktionsprodukten. I arbetet visas att framställning av templatet till polymerasreaktionen kan göras enligt beskrivning, men att utbytet blev lågt. Polymerasreaktionen med det framställda templatet fungerade även det enligt beskrivning men mängden erhållen produkt var för liten för att ge kolonier efter transformationssteget.

Vårt syfte med studien var att undersöka vad medarbetare i offentlig verksamhet, i vårt fall enpolismyndighet, anser vara viktiga kompetenser att ta hänsyn till vid en individuelllönesättning. Syftet har också varit att undersöka vad medarbetarna upplever som rättvis lön samt att analysera deras upplevelser och attityder kring individuell lön ur ettorganisationskulturperspektiv.Vår undersökning har gjorts genom att intervjua tolv medarbetare inom polismyndigheten iVästra Götaland. Vi har intervjuat medarbetare i tre olika funktioner för att få ett så brettspektrum av åsikter som möjligt. Dessa tre funktioner har varit poliser i yttre tjänst, utredareoch chefer. Empirin har vi analyserat efter teorier om kompetens, rättvisa och organisationskultur.Resultatet av undersökningen visar att de kompetenser som anses viktiga att ta hänsyn till vid individuell lönesättning är arbetskrav, prestationer och personliga egenskaper.

This thesis shows the result from investigations of methods that use distance vectors when matching pictures. The distance vectors are available in a distance map made by the Euclidean Distance Transform. The investigated methods use the two characteristic features of the distance vector when matching pictures, length and direction. The length of the vector is used to calculate a value of how good a match is and the direction of the vector is used to predict a transformation to get a better match. The results shows that the number of calculation steps that are used during a search can be reduced compared to matching methods that only uses the distance during the matching..

This essay in Art History treats the former Central Post Office in Gothenburg, Sweden, and its recent transformation into a luxury hotel. The magnificent original building in neo-classical style, inaugurated in 1925, has been supplemented by a twelve stories high tower in postmodern style containing hotel rooms and suites, creating a complex architecture. The approach of this essay is that of ?lived architecture?, that is, how people experience and act in relation to the building. It is argued that the history of the building is rewritten in the marketing of the hotel and the management?s concept of creating a comfortable ?mini-world?for its guests.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the relationship between urban transformation and the occupation movement in Sweden, aiming to identify the movement's characteristics and comprehend its changes over time. By analyzing qualitative material collected from occupants active within a span from the 1980 to the present, we examine how the occupation movement has evolved. We investigate the motivations behind the movement, the lifestyle of occupants, and their potential gains to get a better understanding of the culture. We explore the prefigurative politics of the resistance where occupant activists create alternative lifestyles aligned with their desired future, bypassing the wait for broader societal changes. Finally we inquire the current possibilities of creating and defending meaningful urban spaces and social scenes..

Denna studie presenterar ett preliminärt ramverk för analys av lärande i bråk inom ramen för transformationer mellan olika former av representationer. Ramverket används i en empirisk studie där åtta 10-åriga elever genomför uppgifter i bråk, som utvecklats för att utmana dem att reflektera över olika sätt att representera aspekter av begreppet bråk. Ramverket bygger på socialsemiotikens multimodala perspektiv. Analysen belyser hur ramverket hjälper till att strukturera förståelse för samspelet mellan representationer i inlärningen av bråk. Specifikt såg vi hur konkret fysiskt material och gester kompletterar symboliskt representation och talat språk i elevernas lösningar.  .
