Product development cycles become shorter and shorter. The time from idea to market has become an important competitive factor. Despite this, methods used for making the product development process faster are surrounded with uncertainty about their efficiency. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the pros and cons of ?best practice? methods for shortening lead times and how these methods effect the lead times in research and development.

Inledningen beskriver bakgrunden till de val kring gÀsthamnsverksamheten pÄ Marstrand som KungÀlvs kommun idag stÄr inför. Problemet delas dÀrefter upp i sina separata bestÄndsdelar och en överblick över Marstrand, privat respektive kommunal drift samt bÄtturismen och dess utveckling ges lÀsare. I Metodavsnittet behandlas den kvalitativa fallstudieformen som valts för att undersöka KungÀlvs kommuns möjligheter att utveckla Marstrands gÀsthamn genom att öka kunskapen kring driftsformer av gÀsthamnar i Skandinavien. Urvalet av gÀsthamnar preciseras och motiveras samt hur uppsatsförfattarna sökt uppnÄ god validitet och reliabilitet pÄ uppsatsen. Den Teoretiska referensramen redogör för huvuddragen i AktieÀgarperspektivet, Intressent?perspektivet samt Agent?Principalteorin som tillsammans ligger till grund för uppsatsens analys och slutsats. Empirin presenterar resultatet frÄn den kartlÀggning som gjorts av urvalets respektive hamnar. En inblick i bland annat drifts? och ÀgarförhÄllanden, syftet med gÀsthamnsverksamheten, differentiering samt olika sÀrdrag ges. I Analys och Slutsatskapitlen görs inledande en driftsövergripande analys som lyfter fram likheter och olikheter hamnarna.

The well-being of employees has become a key concept in the rhetoric of the company boards and business literature of today. There is however not much statistic evidence of a connection between economic results and the perceived working climate. This thesis sets out to investigate whether there is a positive correlation between economic results and working climate on a work group level. It also aims to study which specific working climate factors influence the results. In order to meet its purpose this thesis analyzes employee satisfaction questionnaire data and economic results from more than 300 work groups.

VÄrt syfte med den hÀr studien har varit att undersöka och analysera vad bistÄndsbedömare inom Àldreomsorgen anser nÀr det gÀller tvÄngsvÄrdslagstiftning för Àldre mÀnniskor med demens. VÄr huvudfrÄgestÀllning Àr dÀrför: Möter bistÄndsbedömare, i sin yrkesutövning, problem med att det inte finns nÄgon tvÄngsvÄrdslag för Àldre mÀnniskor med demens? För att kunna fÄ en bild av vad bistÄndsbedömare anser om tvÄngsvÄrd för dementa mÀnniskor, och vad detta skulle kunna tÀnkas innebÀra i praktiken, har vi formulerat vidare frÄgestÀllningar som i sin tur varit knutna till tre olika begrepp; roller, etik och makt. VÄr huvudfrÄgestÀllning som knyter an till begreppet roll var: Hur upplever man som bistÄndsbedömare sin yrkesroll i förhÄllande till klienterna? NÀr det gÀller begreppet etik har frÄgestÀllningen varit: Vilka etiska övervÀganden kan det tÀnkas att man stÀlls inför som bistÄndsbedömare, och vilket etiskt ansvar anser man sjÀlv att man har? HuvudfrÄgestÀllningen som kopplades till begreppet makt var: Hur hanteras klientens rÀtt till sjÀlvbestÀmmande i förhÄllande till ens yrkesmÀssiga ansvar att agera? De teoretiska utgÄngspunkterna för studien har Àven de knutit an till dessa begrepp.

In December 2004 an earthquake coursed waves that hit Thailand. Over 5000 people died, and Sweden was the tourist country that has been effected the worst. The catastrophe precipitated Sweden in crises and the demand became high for Swedish government to act. Swedes followed the development via media, why media became the crucial element for how the public perceived politicians? acting.

In theory, the management control of maintenance functions is described as problematic due to the nature of the work performed in the unit. The purpose of this thesis is to examine these predicted problems in practice. Further,the thesis aims at identifying how these control problems may affect the relationships between the maintenance department and its internal customers. A case study has been conducted in one of Sweden?s largest industrial companies to investigate the said control problems in practice.

Media has power and impact. It is therefore important for managers to be able to handle media storms when they arise. If not, the brand can be affected negatively. It is managers who should learn to handle media storms because the managers constitute an important part of the external face of the company. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to illustrate and problemize the consequences of the traditional male domination in film creation for a female director by critically examining the construction of the film director. Methodology: The study is based on a qualitative case study which was conducted as a participant observation.

Of all observable societal trends, the proliferation of standardizing processes is striking. Auditing standards are an illustrative example of this. Not only privately owned companies must today make available numbers and key figures to satisfy needs of information and knowledge. Government agencies are increasingly conforming to this trend, adopting standards for quality assurance and monitoring, producing numbers and annual reports ? despite their somewhat ambiguous task and role.

Purpose This thesis tries to create an understanding of how male homosexual entrepreneurs, both as persons and as a concept, relates to the fact that entrepreneurship, as well as the society as a whole, is heteronormative. Moreover, it examines by what methods the male homosexual entrepreneurs cope with the seemingly paradox of a homosexual man who also is an entrepreneur. Method The method has been qualitative from a social construction-point of view. We have made semi-structured interviews with nine male homosexual entrepreneurs and structured the findings from the interviews with a computer programme and mind mapping techniques. We have compared the structured findings with theories, in an abducting manner, to find out an answer to the purpose of this thesis.

During the last 20 years, the Swedish health care system has faced major changes. One of them is the increasing pressure to generate economic profit due to private businesses entering the market. Health care units are forced to make some structural changes in order to become effective and efficient. As a result merger and acquisitions has become a part of the health care sector, and seems to be an increasing phenomenon. Mergers and acquisitions have mainly been studied in the industry.

The term CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is frequently discussed today. Many large companies work actively with CSR related questions. However, few empirical studies exist on what this work entails and why it is undertaken. Instead, most of the academic research focuses on what the term itself should mean. To bridge this gap this study centers on the employees? perceptions of CSR.

Det överordnade syftet med examensarbetet Àr att agera platsskapande landskapsarkitektur. Studiens mÄl Àr dÀrför att formulera hur ett curatoriellt handlande med ljudinstallationer, musik och performance kan betraktas som platsgestaltning och som arkitektur. Det innebÀr att formulera vad en plats Àr och hur dess auditiva och visuella arkitektur intervenerar, det vill sÀga agerar mellankommande eller förmedlande mellan iscensatta ljud, lokalitetens egna ljud och dess landskapbild. Jag intresserar i denna studie för plats som fenomen och inte som dess bruksmÀssiga funktion. Plats ser jag som lÀnken mellan individ, kollektiv och landskap, mellan sprÄk, perception, handling och kunskap.

Uppsatsen utgÄr frÄn ett litteratursociologiskt perspektiv, dÀr speglingsteorin Àr en viktig del. Speglingsteorin innebÀr att man betraktar litteraturen som en spegling av samhÀllet. Klassiska verk anvÀnds till exempel som sociohistoriska kÀllor till andra samhÀllen och epoker. UtgÄngspunkten för den hÀr studien Àr att det inte enbart Àr de klassiska verken som utgör en sÄdan kÀlla, utan att Àven dagens populÀrlitteratur kan ses som en lÀnk till hur mÀnniskor och samhÀlle fungerar. Den hypotes som driver uppsatsen Àr att litteraturen fyller en funktion för lÀsarna, nÀmligen att den tjÀnar som stöd och hjÀlp i mÀnniskors liv.
