The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how the gender system is described in fantasy novels. The theoretical framework is based on Yvonne Hirdman?s theory on gender system, primarily the two basic principles: the principle of dichotomy, of separation between the sexes, and the principle of hierarchy, of man as norm. The method used is idea analysis which is a form of textual analysis.

As students of graphic design the craft of print is close to our hearts. One of the most essential mediums of the evolution of printing techniques is the poster. In a world where digital mediums are being utilized to a greater degree everyday, our love for the printed poster makes us wonder if the days of the poster are counted.What we did was to take a closer look at the role of the poster in promoting events. We focused on the Stockholm area and did qualitative interviews with three different event promoters. Live Nation which is an international live entertainment promoter, Dramaten which is one of Sweden?s most well respected theaters and Stockholm Live which is a stand up comedy promoter in Stockholm city.From doing this we learned that economics play an important part in defining the role of the poster.

The relationship between the pet and it's owner is a very important and interesting issue. Unfortunately there is not so much research on this and in addition to that Swedish veterinarian education does not put much emphasis on pet's role in society or their pattern of behaviour nor treatment. This thesis is based on an opinion poll that 20 dog owners and 20 cat owners contributed. The main purpose of the thesis was to compare the relationships that the pet (dog or cat) and its owner can have. The issues such as the pet owner's attitude to his/her pet, how the pet owner percieves and interprets the signals from the animal, and what they think about the natural behaviours and needs that their pets (might) have. The results show that dog- and cat owners are people who generally love animals, that they used to have even other animal species in the past, but when it comes to choice between a new dog or a new cat they choose the one that they previously have had and that they are used to. Most of a dog owners choose the dog to be their pet because of the company while the majority of a cat owners choose cat because cats are independent and they are used to cats.

In this paper Mona Hatoums installation Corps étranger is discussed via a post structuralized method based on associative and semiotic comparisons with vanitas, a post-modern self-portrait, and as a representative for modern visual art. The analyze touches upon pornography, science fiction and the quest for scientific conquest in outer and inner space. This essay deals with 18 year old boys´ experience of their usage of pornography. My main focus was the pornography found on Internet, which includes pornographic films and nude pictures.Both developmental and social psychological perspectives were applied in the study. These theoretical perspectives were chosen, because boys´ view of sex, especially during their adolescence, are influenced by the increased supply of porn and that boys understanding of porn are influenced by values present in our society. The methods used were three focusgroups and a short survey with simple questions regarding pornography. The choice of methods was based on my standpoint that an open discussion concerning porn was less offensive of integrity, in comparison of working with individual interviews.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine how the gender system is described in chick lit. The analysis is based upon seven chick lit novels. The primary theoretical point of departure is Yvonne Hirdman?s theory about the gender system, the hierarchical order and the separation of the sexes.

I denna uppsats ämnar författaren genom en fallstudie kartlägga den förändringsprocess som utbildningsföretaget IT Gymnasiet Sverige AB genomgått i samband med implementeringen av projektet We love IT. Studien syftar vidare redogöra för olika personalkategoriers perspektiv på detta projekt och dess effekter på verksamheten. Studien visar att förändringsprojektet har genomgått vissa steg, men att det finns skillnader mellan de tänkta moment som organisationsledningen planerat att projektet ska ta och de faser som projektet faktiskt genomgått. Studien visar att ledningen inte är de enda som kan påverka vilka delar av projektet som kommer att genomföras respektive inte genomföras. Även att andra organisationsmedlemmar nämligen influerar processen.

Syftet med föreliggande examensarbete är att utveckla ett förslag på läromedel för lärare i ämnet religionskunskap i grundskolans senare år. Vi har i uppsatsen beskrivit vårt arbete utifrån ett religionspedagogiskt försök. Analys och utvärdering av detta experiment redovisas och likaså undervisningsmodellen i sin helhet. Modellen behandlar delar av kristendomen och grundar sig på diskussioner utifrån populärmusik samt estetiska moment. Vi har i litteraturöversikten fokuserat på de stöd vi kan för denna undervisningsmodell i läroplan och kursplan samt beskrivit relevant forskning på närliggande områden. Bland annat beskrivs elevers inställning till religion och livsfrågor.

The vast majority of parents want their children to succeed and become successful in one way or the other. The very first is that the child will graduate from school. In today?s society which is characterized by career-driven parents, especially mothers, one wonders if somewhere along the way parents are prioritizing their own careers over their children?s school achievements. This might be true in some cases, but in others it could merely be that parents are expecting more from their children?s future.

This bachelor's thesis is an investigation into the public libraries'actions following the debate of Stina Wirséns character LillaHjärtat, featured in picture books and films for young children.The character was accused of being racist, due to its similarity tostereotypes such as pickaninnies. Because of this, the books'existence in public libraries was questioned.The purpose of this study is to investigate how librarians havedealt with these books, and what they have based their decisionson. To explore the background of these decisions we have usedPatrick Wilson's theory of cognitive authority (1983). We haveexamined which cognitive authorities have been used in thedecision-making process of how to handle the books containingLilla Hjärtat, and why these cognitive authorities have beenchosen. The method used in the study is qualitative interviewswith seven librarians working in public libraries throughoutSweden.The results of the interviews show that the librarians? mostprominent cognitive authorities have been authors and illustratorsof children's books.

Background:The definition of mental illness is characterized by a lack of management regarding mood, thoughts or behavior. It is difficult for the person to cope with everyday duties as well as relationships with other people.The study revealed that the society should take action to prevent social isolation for those with mental illness. The central concepts of care theory is love, learning and well-being, where nurses' conditions and actions create results in the patient.Aim:Describe skills and prerequisites nurses need at the meeting of patients with mental illness. A further aim was to examine the ethical considerations included studies made use of.Method:A descriptive literature studyMain result:Nurses feel they do not have skills regarding mental illness. When nurses care for patients with mental illness are often formed stigmatizations regarding these patient groups and care will suffer.

Relationships between defence mechanisms and body movements were investigated in regard to three hypothesis; I. that a difference in frequency of body movements correlates to different signs of defence mechanisms, II. that themes of body movements can be identified in regard to signs of defence mechanisms, III. that no significant differences will be found between the different groups of gender. The aim of the study was to seek a relation between quasicommunicative body movements and defence mechanisms.

Undersökningen syftar till att undersöka hur en hälsoinformationskampanj argumenterar för att övertyga målgruppen om att vaccinera sig mot ett virus som kan orsaka livmoderhalscancer. Uppsatsen syftar också till att undersöka hur målgruppen uppfattar kampanjen och om den har någon effekt på den. Målgruppen för hälsoinformationskampanjen är unga tjejer något som är ganska ovanligt för hälsokampanjer.Uppsatsen bygger på både en retorisk analys och en receptionsanalys med hjälp av fokusgruppsintervjuer.Teoretiska utgångspunkter är teorier kring kampanjer. Teorier om risk och skräck, avsändares roll, utvärderingar av kampanjer samt internets roll i hälsokampanjer.Resultaten visar på att målgruppen reagerar på kampanjens argument och uppfattar en risk att drabbas av livmoderhalscancer. Att vaccinationen är kostnadsfri är ett användbart argument och har effekt.
