This study has been carried out in cooperation with Unilever and partly with the EC founded project, Smartdoc IST-2000-28137. In areas of statistics and image processing, both the amount of data and the dimensions are increasing rapidly and an interactive visualization tool that lets the user perform real-time analysis can save valuable time. Real-time cropping and drill-down considerably facilitate the analysis process and yield more accurate decisions. In the Smartdoc project, there has been a request for a component used for smart filtering in multidimensional data sets. As the Smartdoc project aims to develop smart, interactive components to be used on low-end systems, the implementation of the self-organizing map algorithm proposes which dimensions to visualize.

Municipalities with a higher amount of female representatives has been shown to be more gender equal. Earlier reasearch has also shown that female politicians are more likely than male politicans to represent immigrants and refugees interests. However, the effect of female representation has not been tested on other subordinated groups than women. Swedish municipalities have full autonomy regarding refugee reception and local politicians are responsible for the decision on the amount of refugees that the municipality accept. The variations of female and male politicians in the local assemblies are expected to have different outcomes on the refugee reception, according to females social backgrounds and experiences.

The Swedish alcohol market has for many years been in the hands of the government. The question of the monopoly, its being or not being, has for a long time engaged both Swedish citizens and politicians. Since joining the European Union it has also been on the European agenda, trying to adapt Sweden to the more liberal alcohol politic in Europe.The suppliers find themselves acting on a completely different market than a market based on free competition. The suppliers are faced with one retail channel to the stores which creates dependence and uneven power balance towards the retailer. In addition to this, their marketing activities are strictly limited due to the laws and claims.

Hair care is a hygienic treatment and is supervised by the Local Environment and Public Health Committee in the municipality. According to the Swedish Environmental Code, hairdressers as all practitioners are required to take measurements to protect the environment and public health. In hygienic treatments hazards may arise from inadequate hygiene practice which spread infection. Hazards may also arise from the use of hair care products such as permanent wave solutions, bleaches and hair dyes. Some hair dye components are known to cause contact allergy, mostly in hair dressers who are exposed professionally but also in some cases in consumers.

In this essay, I investigate Swedish possibilities to influence the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union (CAP). After having summarized my findings, I try to explain the structure of influence by using Multi-level governance theory.Ten years have passed since Sweden joined the Union, and many changes have followed in the agricultural sector. By investigating the small country of Sweden's possibilities to influence CAP, I hope to be able to get a notion of the possibilities to influence the EU in general. The essay examines four possible paths for agricultural interests to influence the policy process in Brussels:* Through elected representatives of Sweden in the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers and in the Swedish Parliament* Through subnational institutions, such as the local authorities and regional representatives.* Through the Swedish Agricultural Office* Through the Swedish pressure group within the agricultural area, LRFThese four groups all have very different channels to the policy process on agricultural issues. The differences are mostly in terms of decisive power or advisory power and institutional contacts or lobby contacts.

SammanfattningI dagens samhälle har kunskap blivit alltmer användbart och viktigt för organisationer. Kunskap anses idag vara en värdefull ekonomisk resurs för att organisationen ska kunna utvecklas och konkurrera med andra. Företag idag möter många utmaningar och därmed ökar behovet av kompetenta och motiverade medarbetare. Allt fler uppgifter utförs av grupper istället för individer och samarbete blir ett viktigt inslag. Kunskapsöverföring är avgörande för kunskapsuppbyggnad, organisationens lärande och resultat.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how a local community, and those who dwell within its borders, are affected when a large scale windmill park is planned in its immediate vicinity. I have used a qualitative approach and conducted semi structured interviews to gather empirical data. The study took place in a small Swedish village named Svartnäs, situated in the region Dalarna.I have used the concept of community as a symbolic construction (Cohen 1984), that together with the theory of structuration (Giddens 1984) and the notion of expert system (Giddens 1996) served as my main theoretical perspectives.Even though the windmill park is not built yet, its impact on the people and the local community of Svartnäs has been considerable. In the traces of the new windmill park new options and constraints, that will play an important role in the lives of the people who dwell in Svartnäs, are arising. The windmill project is enlarging old conflicts and is creating a divided village.

The aim of this study is investigating how some Elementary School teachers of special classes describe how they use iPad as an educational tool when teaching Swedish. To find out I have carried out an interview investigation. I have analyzed results using theoretical concepts from the sociocultural perspective, scaffolding and artefacts.The cummulative result shows that teachers describe that they practice linguistic consciousness and that pupils are trained in writing Swedish in this subject. Another result shows how all teachers describe that they work face-to-face with pupils using iPads in Swedish lessons. Further results show how teachers present possibilities of using iPad as an educational tool when teaching Swedish.

Syftet med arbetet har varit att analysera hur olika stadsplaneideal direkt eller underförstått framhävs i svensk stadsplaneringsdebatt och stadsbyggande samt att undersöka vilka planideal som förespråkas. Den svenska stadsplaneringsdebatten har analyserats utifrån ett urval av artiklar ifrån de tio senaste årens nummer av tidsskrifterna Arkitekten, Arkitektur, Plan och Nordisk arkitekturforskning, vilka kan sägas utgöra den huvudsakliga arenan för den fackmässiga stadsbyggnads- och planeringsdebatten i Sverige. Resultatet av analysen har jämförts med tre aktuella och omdebatterade stadsbyggnadsprojekt i syfte att undersöka vilka kopplingar som finns mellan dagens debatt och aktuellt stadsbyggande. Resultatet har även jämförts och diskuterats utifrån den historiska stadsplaneutvecklingen av den svenska staden för att undersöka hur olika stadsplaneideal påverkat stadsbyggandet i Sverige under olika tidsperioder samt i vilken utsträckning de stadsplaneideal som förekommer i dagens debatt hämtar sin inspiration ifrån historiska förebilder. Utifrån stadsplaneringsdebatten går det att utläsa två inriktningar i dagens stadsplaneideal. Dels den täta staden som hämtar inspiration ifrån den traditionella svenska kvartersstaden och motiveras med att den täta staden är den mest hållbara stadsformen, dels ett sökande efter nya alternativa stadsformer som inte kännetecknas av ett specifikt planeideal men som ser en risk i att föreslå en specifik planstruktur framför andra och att ett planideal per automatik skulle vara mer hållbart än ett annat.

The purpose of our study is to see how the interaction between the social services and police work when a child under 15 years is suspected of crimes.What happens to the child from an agency perspective? How is the experience for the child and how do they get their voices heard? How is the professional perspective for a child when a child is suspected of a crime? What do the various authorities for short-term and long-term measures for the child?We have chosen to do a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews. The study includes six interviews with two police officers, three field secretaries and a social worker in two different municipalities. A medium sized municipality, and a larger community.The people we interviewed think differently about collaboration. The municipality have different workforms.

View description: The purpose of this study is to investigate in what way the mother tongue language education integrates in a compulsory school activities and also which significance it has to the students who studies mother tongue language. My questions are following:How does the cooperation look like between mother tongue languages teacher, teacher and principal?How do students perceive the mother tongue language education?How does the mother tongue language education take place at the school?Method: This investigation is classified as a qualitative study and consists of theoretical points and empirical material such as interviews and observations.  Based on hermeneutic view of tradition which means that I interpret all my material.Results: My results of this study is that the mother tongue language education does not integrate with the other school activities and the mother tongue language teachers does not cooperate with other teachers or principal at this school. The reason for this is mainly because the mother tongue language teachers work situation. I´ve also seen that language has to do with the creation of a personal identity.

Detta examensarbetet är skrivet på magisterprogrammet för Fysisk planering vid Blekinge Tekniska Högskola och omfattar 30 högskolepoäng. Syftet med uppsatsen är att visa ett förslag för en framtida sträckning av ett system av spårbilar och stationer i Tyresö. Arbetet utgår från konkreta mål, riktlinjer och visioner som formulerats på internationell, nationell, regional och kommunal nivå gällande hållbar utveckling och transportsystem. Dessa visioner stämmer ofta dåligt överens med den faktiska utveckling vi kan se idag vilket gör det mycket intressant att hitta alternativa och kompletterande lösningar till dagens transportsystem. På global nivå efterlyser FN miljövänligare, tystare och mer användarvänliga transport- och kommunikationssystem eftersom dagens transportsektor, där bilen står i fokus, förbrukar stora mängder icke-förnybar energi, mark- och vattenresurser samt missgynnar flera grupper i samhället. Det nationella transportpolitiska målet innebär att transportpolitiken ska säkerställa en samhällsekonomiskt effektiv och långsiktigt hållbar transportförsörjning, ett mål som SIKA, Statens Institut för Kommunikationsanalys, i dagsläget bedömer vara mycket svårt att uppnå. På regional nivå menar utvecklingsplanen för stockholmsregionen, RUFS 2010, att regionen idag riskerar en tudelning som en följd av det hårt ansträngda vägnätet och efterlyser bättre kollektivtrafik. Statliga utredningar gjorda av SIKA och RUFS 2010 pekar ut en satsning på spårbilar som mycket intressant för att komma tillrätta med de högt ställda transportpolitiska målen och som komplement till dagens bilberoende transportsystem.

The meaning of this study is to see how a suspected murderer is presented in the Swedish newspapers Expressen and Falu Kuriren. We want to see how two Swedish newspapers, a local- and an evening paper, presented Anders Eklund, who killed the ten year old girl Engla Ho?glund in 2008, from the day after her disappearing and almost a month ahead.When we analysis the resolution to the study we could see that both papers presented Anders Eklund like a convicted murderer after he admitted the murder of Engla Ho?glund, even if the court had not sentenced him yet. Even when Anders Eklund was anonymous, you can through the various denominations witch were produced in the papers speculate on who the murderer is.Even that it is a case study, we can see with the previous research tends that a suspected murderer is produced in this way in Swedish newspapers. We could also see that the evening paper where more likely to present sensation and drama to the texts than the local paper did. .

ABSTRACTIntroduction: An increasing number of patients undergo surgery under local anesthesia and are thereforeawake during the procedure. Nursing care that is provided to these patients can differ from those thatreceive general anesthesia. Previous research has focused on patients? general experiences of being awakeintraoperative. But there is no research that focuses on patients perceptions of security.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera fyra statliga offentliga dokument för att se vad problemen är representerade att vara som leder politiken mot en riktning där den kommunala planeringen, i form av den fysiska planeringen och bostadsförsörjningsplaneringen, i större utsträckning ska ordnas i- och ta hänsyn till ett regionalt perspektiv. Syftet med denna uppsats blir således också att analysera villkoren för det kommunala självstyret när en av dess grundbultar, den kommunala planeringen, i ökad utsträckning ska ordnas i- och ta hänsyn till den regionala nivån.Den här uppsatsen teoretiska- och metodologiska ansats bygger på ett vetenskaplig paket av Carol Bacchi. Hennes ansats studerar problemrepresentationer och för att besvara den här uppsatsen övergripande frågeställningar använder jag mig av ett diskursanalysverktyg som är inspirerad utifrån hennes ansats.Den empiriska analysen visar att en av problemrepresentationerna är att det pågår en regionförstoring med växande funktionella regioner. En annan problemrepresenation som framträder i de undersökta dokumenten är att det anses vara betydande av en ökad samordning av den kommunala planeringen. Det kommunala planmonopolet, som är en del av det kommunala självstyret, problematiseras att vara av stor vikt i de undersökta dokumenten, men att det finns brister i tillämpningen m.m.
