Urvalsproblematiken på folkbibliotek; en studie av etik och estetik kring urval av populärlitteratur och erotisk litteratur på sex svenska folkbibliotek
The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to investigate issues concerning librarians? view on three genres, (a) popular literature for women, (b) popular literature for men and (c) erotic literature, when choosing what to buy for their libraries. A qualitative method has been used and the empery consists of seven qualitative interviews with altogether eight librarians involved in choosing and buying literature. The theoretical framework is built on theories regarding concepts of hegemony and cultural hegemony; the male sex as norm; taste culture and quality. The results show that three of the libraries in the study have a written purchase policy and that the policies that exist are very general.
Lärarens intention eller elevernas reception i
filmundervisning
Syftet med vårt examensarbete var att undersöka huruvida lärares intention vid filmvisning överensstämmer med elevernas reception av samma film. Om dessa två faktorer inte överensstämde, ville vi även titta närmare på vad det var som styrde efterarbetet av filmvisningen: lärarens intention eller elevernas reception? Dessutom ville vi undersöka om det var någon skillnad på elevernas reception om läraren innan filmvisningen antingen berättade respektive inte berättade om filmen eller gav respektive inte gav anvisningar om vad de skulle titta på i filmen. Undersökningen genomfördes med hjälp av intervju med en lärare, observationer under filmen, enkäter i anslutning till filmen och observationer av lärarens eftersamtal med eleverna. Resultatet av vår studie visade att elevernas och lärarens reception av en och samma film divergerar men att det är lärarens intention som främst styr efterarbetet.

Att tolka filmmusik utan bild: en undersökning av gymnasieelevers tolkningar och associationer vid lyssning till musik avsedd för film
Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka vilka känslor och associationer elever vid gymnasiets estetiska program får vid lyssning av musik som är för tänkt för film, men utan bild. Utifrån att endast lyssna på musiken vill jag se om elevernas tolkningar förefaller lika varandra och om det finns genusskillnader. Jag vill utforska musikens så kallade ?koder? som styr våra sinnen mot en speciell riktning och på vilka sätt den kan manipulera oss. Jag valde att spela upp fem delstycken (satser) av en komposition jag skrivit, avsedd att illustrera ett händelseförlopp i form av en filmsynopsis.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine whether there exists a hegemonic relationship between librarians and users of libraries with a focus on the librarians point of view. The future of movies in the library is also going to be examined. Qualitative interviews were conducted and were examined for signs of hegemony and habitus according to the respective theories. The results of these interviews showed that librarians were in favor of user suggestions to improve the libraries collection. We found that there exists a hegemonic relationship in the libraries, but that it was subliminal and unwanted.

The purpose of this essay has been to investigate the research and national initiatives regarding film and Cineliteracy in the Swedish curriculum.The results show that, after all research, national initiatives and the continual clarification from the Swedish National Agency for Education concerning film's place in the Swedish subject, the vision of students cineliteracy not at all obtain an obvious place in the curriculum.The research points out the main causes behind this result to be teachers' lack of expertise and the fact that the formal education for future teachers in the subject still upholds traditional views on the subject of Swedish.The initiative presented in this essay also show lack of continuity, lack of adequate professional development opportunities for teachers and lack of practical guidance manuals to help teachers to develop and educate their pupils in line with current research and visions. .

AbstractThis study is based on my work as a secondary school teacher of literature and the Swedish language and rooted in my interest in developing knowledge about the importance of teaching literature in order to both cultivate young people?s reading habits and their view of themselves as readers. The more concrete purpose of this study is to examine a reading project that focuses on theories of literary perception and teaching literature.I examine four pupils who, in 2003, participated in the reading project as readers and compare this description with their view of themselves as readers seven years later. I complete the study by examining how they discuss reading and the teaching of literature. The method is qualitative and the empirics include materiel collected in two different time periods: first in 2003, in a class I taught in a secondary school; and second in 2010, when I examined four of the former pupils who participated in the project from 2003.
En explorativ studie av TIL-programmet : Fem små berättelser av föräldrarnas upplevelser
This essay studied how six girls experienced their reading development during their college education in male-dominated profession programs. The issues assumed were how they experience their literature reading and literature education and what happened with their interest in reading. The theoretical frame included researchers Säljö, Rosenblatt, Gun Malmgren, Olin-Scheller, Ulfgaard and Molloy.The study showed that most of the girls felt their reading had worsened but not because of their male classmates but because of school. They had a lot of homework and participated in so many different school projects which would be completed that there was no time to reading for pleasure. The girls did not like the teachers? literate sample and did not like the methods used in learning literature.
Film på svenska folkbibliotek? En diskursiv analys av statliga offentliga utredningar som behandlar folkbibliotekens verksamhetsmål och mediepolitik
This Masters thesis examines the position of films in Swedish public libraries. We have, by way of comparing various statistical data, determined that the status of film in public libraries is week. We have completed earlier research by mapping what genealogical, discursive patterns that could be outlined in the Swedish government reports from 1949 until today, focussing on the activity goals and media policy of the public library. We have, on the basis of Foucaults theories on genealogy and archaeology, where text documents are considered to be meta-descriptions giving each other authority, analyzed if there any discursive excluding or contextual formulations exist in the usage of the language concerning the goals and the media attitude of public libraries. We have mapped contextual discursive formulations that to the commissioners have become neutral starting points for their assumptions and conclusions.

Hur framställs kvinnor i diaspora på film? : En etnisk analytisk jämförelse av Persepolis och Exils
Denna uppsats avser studera hur kvinnor i diaspora framställs på film. Undersökningen är utförd på filmerna Persepolis (Marjane Satrapi, 2004) och Exils (Tony Gatlif, 2007). De teoretiska utgångspunkter som uppsatsens analysdel grundar sig på är: postkolonialism, hybriditet och postkolonial feminism. Analysen är utförd efter mina egna frågeställningar, tolkningar och reflektioner, med hermeneutiken som metod. Slutsatsen visar att kvinnorna i diaspora framställs som starka och självständiga. De visar motstånd mot auktoriteter.

This thesis investigates the reception of middle literature novels among critics in Swedish newspapers and at Swedish libraries. Works by three authors were chosen as representatives for middle literature: Helen Fielding, Nick Hornby and Tony Parsons. The investigation is based on interviews with librarians at the Gothenburg City Library, the total purchased number of books at public libraries in Sweden and analysis of Swedish newspaper reviews. The result is compared with theories by literary sociologists as Jofrid Karner Smidt, Janice Radway, Erland Munch-Petersen and Staffan Bergsten among others. It was found out that literary scientists and critics had a different way of looking at middle literature.
Pojkar i litteraturen och litteratur för pojkar : Analys av sex moderna ungdomsböcker för pojkar
The aim with this essay is to look into what literature has been published in 2006 and 2007 for boys between the ages of twelve and sixteen in order to analyse six of the titles. Our two main questions are as follows:?How is the teenage boy depicted in six of these books? - To what extent is the teenage boy depicted in a gender stereotypical way?.We chose the titles for analysis based on our mapping of the published literature and took into account the authors? gender and age as well as the main themes of the books. As theoretical base for our analysis we used Marias Nikolajeva?s table of gender stereotypes in literature.
