This thesis analyses how a radiology department at the largest hospital in Sweden, Karolinska University Hospital, most profitably could expand its capacity for investigating cancer patients using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The queues today for patients waiting to be scanned are long, which delays the start of cancer treatments. Meanwhile the hospital has a budget deficit of half a billion SEK, which make any expansion hard. In this thesis we evaluate the alternatives of investing in new machinery; utilize the current machinery better by using them more days annually or through a shift work system. Finally we evaluate a combination of these.

Att arbeta som enhetschef inom offentlig organisation kräver ett förhållningssätt som tar hänsyn till överordnade chefer, politiker och förvaltningschefer. Samtidigt är det viktigt att hänsyn tas till underställda medarbetare, klienter och anhöriga. Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka mellanchefers upplevelser av arbetssituationen och få förståelse för hur de hanterar kraven som kommer från överordnade chefer och underställda medarbetare, om det innebär en lojalitetskonflikt och hur de positionerar sin lojalitet. Uppsatsen är kvalitativ till sin karaktär med intervjuer utförda med enhetschefer för att ge dem möjlighet att belysa sin arbetssituation. För att få en teoretisk bakgrund till arbetet har tidigare forskning inom området använts som New Public Management, Karasek och Theorells krav-, kontroll och stöd modell samt Webers teorier om byråkrati och rationalitet.

Användarutbildning är en viktig del för i stort sett alla företag som använder någon form av informationssystem. Även om man oftast inser hur viktigt det är med denna utbildning är den ofta lågt prioriterad med för liten budget. Detta arbete är en fallstudie som görs på ett företag som medverkar anonymt. Studien har som syfte att studera det aktuella utbildningsläget inom företagets affärssystem. Resultatet som studien ger kommer att användas som en grund för beslutsfattning kring hur utbildningsplanen på företaget ska se ut i framtiden. För att nå slutsatsen studerar vi litteratur inom området användarutbildning.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate respectability and the construction of ?free love? in Swedish feminist debater and playwright Frida Stéenhoff?s (1865?1945) drama Lejonets unge (1896). In 1897 the first production of the drama was set in the small town of Sundsvall in Sweden and caused a public storm be-cause of its plea for free love for both men and women.Through an intersectional perspective, where the axes of class, gender, sexual-ity, religion, nationality and age are central and with a starting point in Beverly Skegg?s concept ?respectability? I investigate how ?free love? is constructed in the drama. I also link the construction of ?free love? to the historical context of the debate concerning sexual morality and marriage which was intense in society and literature in Scandinavia in the late 19th century.In the drama the plea for ?free love? is created mainly through the character Saga Leire.

This bachelor thesis in business economics raises the topic about Corporate Responsibility (CR), this topic is currently being discussed in a variety of channels and today an increasing number of companies are involved in corporate responsibility. How do Skanska work with sustainability and why are they doing this? It is also important to see the results of the work with sustainability will lead to. We will go into more depth in one of Skanska's projects, project M25, to investigate the CR strategies they use and see how they actually work with sustainability. The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyze how and why Skanska is working to implement CR policies in their operations and more specifically from the M25 project in order to achieve sustainable business development.

Tomo Hugglink (TOMO Skog) is an innovation for harvest and transport of biofuels. The system consists of a truck, a chipping unit and crane mounted on a link and a wood chip trailer. The system works in such a way that the chipping unit is disconnected and placed on the site and wood chips are loaded directly into the wood chip trailer.The aim of this study was:- To examine the performance of the TOMO Hugglink system under different conditions such as the size, placement and quality of the pile.- To calculate the cost per raw ton for two vehicle combinations at different transport distances and to examine the effect of a reduction in set-up time and an increase in load weight.- To identify possible improvements with the TOMO Hugglink system.A time study was conducted within the thesis work to make it possible to determine production and time consumption. In the subsequent economic analysis the cost per tone at different transport distances was calculated for two different lorry concepts. Furthermore the effect of a reduction in set-up time and an increase in load weight was calculated.Under current conditions the utilization of the chipper is low and only 29 % of the total system time is occupied by chipping.

Inom alla verksamheter och organisationer finns det idag någon form av informationssystem. För att effektivisera, förändra och stödja verksamheten har allt fler företag valt att anskaffa ett standardsystem som hjälpmedel. Tyvärr innebär detta även att ett antal problem kan uppstå. Ett av de mest kritiska problemen som bör försöka undvikas är utebliven användaracceptans. Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka vilka insatser som bör vidtas i arbetet med att anskaffa ett standardsystem, för att förbättra användaracceptansen.

This Master's thesis aims at pinpointing the political arguments that appear in the recent debate on scientific publication. There is a widely spread opinion that prices on digital resources are far too high, thus taking up a major part of the University libraries budget, while publishing companies make high profits. It is also a common opinion that the current publishing method does not take full advantage of the possibilities of electronic publishing. Lately a number of alternative ways of publishing have been initiated and discussed, generally referred to as open access. Open access published material is available free of charge and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions on the public internet.In this thesis the minutes from four hearings held by the UK House of Commons in the spring of 2004 are examined.

The purpose of this study is to describe the traceability of products that protect against counterfeiting and examine how protection against counterfeit products have been developed to date, and to display the opportunity to streamline the protection of products and brands.Nowadays, in the global world, it is getting increasingly more difficult to track the products. Especially for the last link in the chain, which in most cases is the customer and who is constantly exposed to risks. This report deals with the possibilities of preventing and detecting counterfeit products. Fake products are not unusual in an historical perspective. It has been common with counterfeits ever since the Middle Ages continuously until today. Forgers have become more skillful and they are successful in most industries. Many of the fake products are of poor quality and can be downright dangerous to the customer.To answer the question, the author used a qualitative collection method.

This thesis aims to explore the use of costumed interpreters at museums. Firstly the thesis examines how extensivethe use of historical costumes is in Sweden, along with some international comparisons. Later on the differentways that the clothes are used is examined, and the costume as a resource for learning is discussed. In the lastpart of the thesis the ?function? of the costume is examined.

Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva situationen idag för tre tonårsflickor med Asperger syndrom (AS) och berörda familjers kamp för att få den hjälp de behöver vid utslussningen till eget boende. Vidare är syftet att beskriva två privata företags arbete med att ta hand om personer med AS, och liknande diagnoser, samt att beskriva deras arbete att sprida kunskapen om detta i samhället. Studien baseras på en litteraturstudie samt intervjuer med familjer till tonårsflickor med AS och två privata företag som arbetar med AS. Ett resultat av studien var att personer med AS oftast inte klarar av att leva ett helt självständigt liv utan behöver stöd och hjälp för att kunna leva så självständigt som möjligt. Ytterligare resultat var att kommunernas kunskap om AS, och deras ekonomiska möjligheter att underlätta situationen för personer med AL, varierar.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att kunna erbjuda små till medelstora företag förslag på lämpliga modeller och IT-stöd att använda till omvärldsanalys. Genom att föreslå modeller och IT-stöd samt hur de används kan företag upprätta ett omvärldsanalysarbete utan att hyra in extern hjälp. Större företag har ofta en större budget och även resurser som aktivt arbetar med att bevaka omvärlden. Den sortens resurser finns inte i mindre företag eftersom kostnaden att hyra in konsulter för hjälp med omvärldsanalysarbete är för hög. Det i kombination med att kunskap saknas om hur ett omvärldsanalysarbete kan genomföras resulterar i att det ofta inte blir av.

Vårt syfte var undersöka förändringen av budgeteringens roller i de studerade företagen, samt vilka konkurrerande eller kompletterande styrmedel de använder sig av. Vi har utfört en kvalitativ fallstudie, med en deduktiv ansats av tre traditionella tillverkningsföretag. Våra empiriska studier bygger främst på personliga intervjuer. Vår teoretiska bakgrund består av diskussionsunderlag angående budgetens för och nackdelar. För att ge en bättre bakgrund till vår studie har vi även valt att ge en översiktlig beskrivning av budgetprocessen och kompletterande styrmedel som prognos och balanced scorecard.

The aim of this study is to understand which roles institutional personnel in HVB-homes (homes for care or living), that include animals ascribe the animals for the young clients in treatment. Using the termsrole, role-taking, primary socialisation and secondary socialisation within the perspective of symbolic interactionism, we intend to analyse the expericences from the institutional personnel of what roles the animals are ascribed in treatment of young clients. We also wanted to find out if the institutional personnel have certain expectations on the animals as tools in the treatment and whether the institutional personnel believes that the animals have important roles in the treatment of the young clients.To find the answers of our aim and approach to our problems, we have used a qualitative study where we have interviewed six institutional personnel distributed in three different HVB-homes that uses animals in treatment of young clients. Our empirical material shows that the institutional personnel ascribe the animals a variety of roles, which among others are: friendly and familiar, meaningful, safe, comforting and soothing. Other roles that the institutional personnel ascribe the animals for the young clients are: teaching in order to develop empathy and responsibility; helping in therapy situation and having an activating role.
