Kartläggning och analys av scanias tillsynsprogram : Ett verktyg för förbättring

Scania intends to introduce a new maintenance program for their rolling fleet. Withthis new program Scania hopes to increase their competiveness and add furthercustomer value. This thesis report is a mapping of the current maintenance program,along with its problematic features. Furthermore the report intends to describe thenew program, Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) and the problems that Scaniamust deal with before they can implement it.The report compiles basic information on how a mapping should be performed.Further on it will describe some of the theories of LEAN and leadership. Which aretwo of the most important features in this thesis work.The work has been performed through visits in different workshops, whereinterviews have taken place.

Den dolda kompetensen : en longitudinell undersökning mellan åren 2007 - 2009  av fem gotländska småföretag

In this thesis we will discuss the importance of human resource development in smaller companies and if it will change from when the Swedish economy was in an economic boom and later on came to be in a recession. We choose to use a more qualitative approach for this research in order to conduct a more in-depth study of five smaller sized companies located on Gotland, Sweden. In order to limit our research we had as an ambition to answer these following questions:? What obstacles are there when it comes to human resource development and knowledge transference within smaller sized companies?? What can simplify or enable human resource development and knowledge transference within smaller sized companies?? Does the teaching process change to a more tacit human resource development between co-workers when there is less room for conventional human resource development?The result of the research came to show that the biggest barrier, when it comes to competence development within smaller companies, is time. However, our research also showed that a majority of the companies has changed from a more external educational plan to a more internal educational plan which focuses on keeping the human resource development within the company.

Effektivisering av UI-utveckling i datorspel

This thesis presents my work at the company Fatshark AB in Stockholm. My supervisor Rikard Blomberg, who works as a chief technology officer at Fatshark and is one of the owners of the company, explained that they had experienced weaknesses in the methodology used when developing heads up displays (HUD) for their games. In the latest production, Lead  and Gold, the HUD had been redesigned a number of times, becoming an unnecessarily big expense due to the number of work hours invested. In modern software development, an iterative workflow is commonly encouraged. Despite this fact, the work efficiency could likely be increased by setting up guidelines as a help in the process of developing HUDs and reviewing the solutions.

5S och DMAIC - Första steget mot Lean Sex sigma En studie för införande av Lean Sex sigma i en mindre organisation i samarbetet med Eco-Boråstapeter

I ett team ingår flera professioner och för att arbeta i ett team krävs det att kunna kommunicera med varandra. Genom att belysa vad som påverkar kommunikationen och hur kommunikationen påverkar människan, kan det leda till att människan utvecklar sin förmåga att kommunicera, vilket i sin tur leder till ett förbättrat arbetsklimat. Syftet med studien är att belysa kommunikationens betydelse för människan i det opererande teamet och eventuella orsaker som påverkar kommunikationen. Metoden är en litteraturöversikt med kvalitativ innehållsanalys av vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet redovisas med hjälp av tre huvudteman och 11 subteman där kommunikationens process belyses.

Saab Dynamics is a company operating in the defence industry where competition is tough. This necessitates new ways to increase efficiency in the company, which is the basis for this thesis. Saab Dynamics wants to introduce simulation driven design. Since Saab Dynamics engineers have little experience of simulation, required a user methodology with clear guidelines.

Kontinuerliga förbättringar och förändringsmotstånd. Att med ekonomistyrning skapa förutsättningar för ett kontinuerligt förbättringsarbete i lean-orienterade organisationer

Bakgrund och problem: Lean är en ledningsfilosofi som får allt större utbredning. Inom lean är kontinuerliga förbättringar ett viktigt inslag för att kunna arbeta mer resurssnålt, bli mer lönsamt, möta konkurrens och tillgodose kundernas krav. Men att arbeta med kontinuerliga förbättringar innebär också att medarbetarna kontinuerligt måste förändra sitt sätt att arbeta. Här förekommer det ofta ett förändringsmotstånd och det som denna uppsats utforskar är hur man med hjälp av ekonomistyrning kan hantera motståndet och stödja förbättringsarbetet.Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att belysa och skapa förståelse för det förändringsmotstånd som ofta uppstår i arbetet med kontinuerliga förbättringar samt att utifrån ett lednings- och ekonomistyrningsperspektiv beskriva hur företag möter detta och skapar förutsättningar för ett framgångsrikt arbete med kontinuerliga förbättringar.Metod: En kvalitativ empirisk studie med sammanlagt nio intervjuer på två olika företag genomfördes. Intervjuerna gjordes med personer i främst ledande positioner som alla aktivt arbetar med kontinuerliga förbättringar.Resultat och slutsatser: Studien visar att förändringsmotstånd ofta förekommer i samband med kontinuerliga förbättringar även om förändring inte per automatik behöver leda till motstånd.

Borta bäst? : En studie om affärsmodeller och tidig internationalisering

Syftet med studien är att undersöka vilken affärsmodell som born globals använder vid internationalisering och vilka faktorer som påverkar valet av modell. Studien har använt sig av en kvalitativ forskningsmetod och har genomförts som en fallstudie. Vidare utgörs studien av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Studien kommer fram till att born globals vid internationalisering har en affärsmodell som a?r freemium och att det resursbaserade synsättet samt bransch är viktiga bakomliggande faktorer till valet av affärsmodell. Faktorerna globalisering och entrepenören har mindre direkt påverkan medan nätverk endast har en begränsad påverkan i valet av affärsmodell för born globals vid internationalisering. .

Jämförelse av den demokratiska utvecklingen i Bosnien-Hercegovina och Kroatien

This essay will try to explain and compare the different development steps which Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina have taken after the war. How could countries with such similar backgrounds develop in such different ways? By analyzing and comparing the two countries the purpose was to examine how these countries which had so much in common could develop in so different ways. My two questions are: What similarities and differences are there between the development which Bosnia and Croatia have taken after the war? Why have Croatia succeeded and not Bosnia?My analysis showed that the main reason to the difference between these countries was that Bosnia is divided; all ethnic groups in Bosnia only consider what's best for their own ethnic group and not what's best for the country. Croatia however has expelled the Serbs which made it easier for them to have a succesfull democratic development. .

Scrum ? en fallstudie från lokala företags perspektiv

Through a case study, I wanted to find out what advantages and disadvantages local companies consider with scrum and what they think about its future. To find out what scrum is, I read the literature and scientific articles and then wrote surveys based on my thoughts. Further, I also wanted to find out if it?s possible to use scrum in a school environment and therefore I visited a high school class who used scrum in one of their projects. The result was good but could have been better as it requires more training of scrum to understand everything. The surveys were distributed to various local companies. After having received a lot of answers, I concluded that the clear priority was the most positive feature of scrum and the most negative was that it was difficult to get the rest of the organization to understand scrum, which creates problems. Both high school class and local companies believe in scrum?s future, even if they think scrum will be partially modified to adapt to the software-development in the future. According to the survey responses, the most important to get the projects to be successful both now and in the future is that everyone who work with scrum is right educated..

En studie har genomförts tillsammans med ett av de Sverigeledande företageninom industriellt byggande. Genom att tillverka husdelar, så kallade volymer, isin fabrik kan de göra byggandet av bostadshus mer effektivt än vid traditionellt byggande på plats.För att öka produktiviteten i fabriken har företaget valt att arbeta med Lean. Lean är en strategi som har sitt ursprung från den japanska och amerikanska bilindustrin. Grundprincipen är att ständigt arbeta med att förbättra sin verksamhet och eliminera slöseri. Det finns inga konkreta mål utan det handlar om att kontinuerligt röra sig i rätt riktning.

High technology companies in Sweden spend a huge amount of money on research and product development in proportion to what they get back in earnings from their inventions. Product development has traditionally been regarded as much more important than business development. We have chosen to make a case study of Hexagon, a highly successful and innovative company within the measurement technology business. Xlight-Retro : En lampa för offentliga inomhusmiljöer

The company Sound Precision has developed a new Line Array loudspeaker system (VHA-40). When using this system, their customers need computer aid to get the best possible sound-quality and control of sound levels for the whole audience. The aim of this thesis is to develop a truly useful sound quality simulator for the VHA-40. The system will help the sound engineers to position the loudspeakers for optimal sound by simulating loudspeaker configurations and visualizing the resulting sound quality and quantity. To solve this a human-centered design (HCD) approach is taken to implement a system that is truly useful for the users, meaning that they will use it more and hence deliver better sound for the audience.

Visualization plays a key role in the concept of Lean. Lean was developed in Japan as a business philosophy in order to lead to an activity, where only steps that contribute to customer value of the final product are being performed. By defining the customer value and establish visualized standards, it is possible to see when situations differ from the standard. Then it?s possible to lead the process back on track.
