Examensarbetet utfördes på företagets produktionsanläggning, där det produceras kundspecifika butiks- och restauranginredningar i mindre skala. Företaget har expanderat snabbt och relativt nyligen startat upp sin produktionsanläggning, vilket innebär att det finns goda förutsättningar för en god och mycket gynnsam framtida produktion men företaget är inte riktigt där än. Brister i både kommunikation, projektledning och konstruktion kan ses som några av grundorsakerna till de egentliga stora problemen i och under produktion.Syftet med examensarbetet är att analysera och kartlägga grundorsakerna till detta, samt ta fram förbättringsförslag som kan leda till att uppnå de framtida målen.Några förbättringsförslag har arbetats fram med hjälp av olika Lean verktyg, några exempel på dessa är rutiner och mallar för konstruktion. Dessa förslag har även testats på skarpa projekt och gett goda resultat både under projektets gång men även i efterhand vid utvärdering..

The goal of this thesis is to investigate the W3C Geolocation API from a developer?s perspective, focused on whether it makes development of location-based applications more accessible to developers. This has been investigated by looking at available ways to locate, possible uses, the functionality offered, the necessary level of prior knowledge needed for a developer and requirements on developer tools. This has been achieved through studies in relevant areas, a thorough introduction to W3C Geolocation API functionality, and by using the API to develop two different location-based applications as a demonstration. Testing of applications, on different platforms and in different environments, in conjunction with investigation of the rest of the material has shown that W3C Geolocation API in many ways actually makes development of location-based applications more accessible for developers. The API also provides fully adequate functionality and quality to meet the requirements for development of both simple and very advanced location-based applications. Målet med denna uppsats är att undersöka W3C Geolocation API ur ett utvecklarperspektiv, fokuserat på om den gör utveckling av positionsbaserade applikationer mer tillgänglig för utvecklare.

I en global marknad blir det allt mer viktigt fo?r svenska industrier att effektivisera sina produktionsprocesser genom sta?ndiga fo?rba?ttringar och en offensiv kvalitetsutveckling. Shiloh Industries i Olofstro?m vill o?ka sin konkurrenskraft genom att fullt ut implementera filosofin Lean Production i sin verksamhet och i enlighet med detta ska en helt ny produktionslayout tas fram. Studien syftar till att finna aspekter fo?r beaktning vid utformning av en produktionslayout som finner sto?d i Lean Production.

Examensarbetet har utförts på Sandvik Coromant i Gimo, GH. Produktionsenheten tillverkar hårdmetallskär för borrning, svarvning och fräsning. Arbetet syftar till att undersöka metoder för att minska material i arbete samt förkorta ledtiderna på enheten. För att uppnå en resurssnålare produktion undersöks möjligheterna för Lean Production och andra arbetssätt som anses ge förbättringar av flödet. Som grund till arbetet ligger intervjuer av personal på enheten i Gimo, litteraturstudier samt ett besök på ett företag inom Sandvik koncernen som lyckats med att minska material i arbete samt förkortat sina ledtider.

Rapporten beskriver funktionen och implementationen av ett mjukvarusystem utformat för att hämta och presentera data från Internetanslutna sensorer. Idén bygger på ett koncept av Jerry Lindblom vid EISLAB på Luleå tekniska universitet. Utvecklandet har skett i nära samarbete med Gema Industri AB med målet att möjliggöra användning av systemet för övervakning av elmotorer och remdrifter i industrier, men detta är bara ett av de möjliga användningsområdena. Systemet gör det möjligt för användare att skapa webbsidor som kan innehålla dynamiskt skapade grafer utifrån mätdata som tidigare insamlats från sensorer. Tillvägagångssättet är användbart i en mängd olika tillämpningar.

Sweden introduced a development assistance policy in 1952 and thirteen years later Sida, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency started, in 1965. But in 1995, five separate development assistance authorities came together and established the new Sida as it is today. Sida is Sweden?s representative in the development assistance policy field and they work through projects that have to be presented through a Country Strategy Process (CSP). The aim of this paper is to point out Sida?s perspective on the conducted development assistance policy and what guide lines that are followed.

This study examines how and why organizations evaluate training and development within the organizations. The study has a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews, with office and organization development managers. The purpose of the study is to contribute with knowledge about how three large Swedish organizations evaluates training and development programs for staff members. Another purpose is to describe why the organizations evaluate training and development programs and to research if there is a further need to develop the organization evaluation methods. Therefore the research questions are Why and how do organizations evaluate training programs? What further need is there to develop organizations evaluation methods?The conclusion of this study shows that evaluation of the training and development programs are not a high priority among the selected organizations.

The maintenance phase within software projects is typically very expensive in terms of resources. The activities of this phase are largely focused around some form of modification of program code. This leads one to consider if there are alternative methods of code production that results in code that allows for less costly modifications. This thesis has its basis in a subset of those concepts which research has shown to provide more flexible code. Once this subset is established, connections are made between the concepts within the subset and claims of benefits provided by the use of Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology.

Sweden has a long tradition as a mapmaking nation. Tens of thousands of historical maps,dating from the sixteenth century and onwards are still preserved in archives today, providinga rich resource for studies of city growth and changes in the landscape through time. For morethan ten years an effort has been made by public authorities to transfer this material frompaper onto digital media. Due to modern technology, as for example GeographicalInformation Systems (GIS), researchers have been given improved possibilities to study andanalyze this material. This study uses a qualitative approach, based on both literature studiesas well as map studies.

Studiens syfte är att kartlägga och analysera hur ständigt förbättringsarbete i dagligt arbete fungerar på en akutmottagning samt förutsättningar som möjliggör och hindrar detta förbättringsarbete. Den teoretiska referensramen består av tidigare forskning om förbättringsarbete, Lean Production, Kaizen, ständiga förbättringar samt förutsättningar som påverkar dessa ständiga förbättringar. Metoden som använts för att besvara syftet är en kvalitativ fallstudie med semistrukturerade intervjuer.I slutsatsen framgår det att det är chefernas inställning och engagemang kring ständiga förbättringar som driver arbetet framåt, vilket smittar av sig på medarbetarna. En tro på att ständiga förbättringar långsiktigt kan utveckla verksamheten i en positiv riktning. Det som hindrar är framförallt de kontextuella faktorerna tid och resurser.

MindMe is an aid for people with cognitive memory impairments. The aid is completely new and has beendeveloped within this bachelor thesis, no product of this nature could be found on the market before. Theidea came from Niclas Jarhäll, CEO of Mutual Benefits. Mutual Benefits were also partners in the project.The project was carried out by us in cooperation with Bachelor of Science in Innovation Engineeringstudents Malin Albertsson and Victoria Hedman at Halmstad university. The aid consists of a mobile phoneand a number of tags.

Systemutveckling har på senare år rört sig mot allt mer flexibla metoder för att bedriva utveckling, ett agilt förhållningssätt vid systemutveckling i dagens IT-bolag är inte alls ovanligt. I takt med förändring av tillvägagångssättet har även ett moment inom testningen fått allt mer fokus: Testautomatisering. Vissa författare hävdar till och med att det inte går att bedriva agil systemutveckling utan att införa testautomatisering. Syftet med uppsatsen är därför att undersöka vilka utmaningar en testare inom de agila metoderna stöter på vid testautomatisering. Detta utförs med hjälp av intervjuer på fem olika företag av fem olika testare där de alla har en gemensam nämnare, att de jobbar agilt..

ABSTRACTWe have chosen to write an essay about competence because we think that it is an important and a current subject of interest, both to us as future team leaders, but also to all activities within the community. We have a background working with eldercare and we have noticed that there are continued changes going on. This made us want to study what team leaders and their staff think about competence and the development of competence. The purpose of this study is to analyse how team leaders work to develop competence with their personnel working in home care. We also want to analyse how the personnel experience their competence and their need for development of competence.

This diploma work has been conducted for the consulting company Ramböll inUppsala, Sweden with the purpose to perform a study with the calculation programFEM Design 9.0 made by Strusoft. The aim has been to find out if it is possible to gainadvantage by utilizing more advanced 3D software for design calculations, instead ofthe traditional methods currently used in construction works.The method of approach has been to model an existing warehouse building with theprogram FEM Design, and then compare the results with those attained with FrameAnalysis and hand calculations. These results are then analyzed. An evaluation is maderegarding to what benefits can be achieved using a more advanced 3D-model.The results of the study show that the differences between the methods are not ofany significance with regard to the design of the steel frame. However in morecomplex materials such as reinforced concrete, the differences become more notable.The conclusions drawn by the authors of this study into FEM Design are that theeducation requirements of the program are higher than for simpler programs, whosepurpose are solving predetermined problems.
