I denna fallstudie av Vara kommun har vårt intresse riktat sig mot införandet av Lean i kommunen. Arbetet med Lean inleddes 2004 och har hittills haft fokus på äldreomsorgen. Till grund för den insamlade empirin ligger 8 enskilda intervjuer med projektledare och resultatenhetschefer samt två fokusgrupper med medarbetare. Vårt syfte med denna studie har varit att studera införandet av Vara Lean och dess inverkan på såväl resultatenhetschefer som medarbetare inom äldreomsorgen i Vara kommun, samt att undersöka förutsättningarna för ett fortsatt arbete med utveckling genom Vara Lean.Resultatet visar att Vara Lean är ett tanke- och arbetssätt för att försöka finna ständiga förbättringar inom verksamheterna i Vara kommun. Medelst Vara Lean och dess verktyg, värdeflödeskartläggning och 5S, skall medarbetarna jobba effektivare genom att skapa standardiserade arbetssätt.

I takt med att många vårdinrättningar har insett värdet av att använda sina resurser mer effektivt har lean blivit ett allt mer uppmärksammat område inom sjukvården. Den här rapporten beskriver hur man med lean-metoder kan öka kundvärdet i akutsjukvården. För att öka kundvärdet måste man eliminera de icke värdeskapande aktiviteterna som finns i värdeflödet. Vi har med hjälp av information från litteraturen och genomförda intervjuer valt ut två metoder för att identifiera icke värdeskapande aktiviteter; värdeflödesanalys och visuell identifiering. De icke värdeskapande aktiviteterna vi identifierat kategoriseras in i sju kategorier av svinn.

Byggbranschen brottas idag med en hel del fel och brister i byggprocessen. Exempel på problem är bl.a. höga byggkostnader, kvalitetsbrister samt att det förekommer slarv och okunskap. Produktiviteten i byggbranschen har inte utvecklats lika mycket som i tillverkningsindustrin som använder sin ledningsfilosofi Lean Production.Syftet med detta examensarbete är att få insikt i vilka vanliga fel och brister som förekommer i byggbranschen, samt att kunna ge förslag till förbättringar i enlighet med lean-tänkande. The problem is, though, that the knowledge of the subject is still limited which causes many projects to fail. This has made it extra important to have a good project manager whocanlead the project in the right direction. För att ett företag ska kunna hävda sig på dagens globaliserade marknad krävs det att företaget helatiden arbetar mot en mer effektiv verksamhet. För att uppnå en effektivare verksamhet arbetarmånga företag med Lean. Lean innebär att slöseri ska reduceras, där slöseri definieras som allaaktiviteter som inte tillför något kundvärde. Lean är idag, framförallt på produktionssidan ettpopulärt arbetssätt, dock har forskning visat att Lean kan leda till en ökad stress för medarbetarna.Lean har delvis implementerats inom tjänstesektorn men inte alls i samma utsträckning som itillverkningsindustrin. På grund av detta finns det inte mycket forskning om Leans inverkan påmedarbetarna inom tjänstesektorn sett ur ett stressperspektiv.Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka om Lean leder till en mer stressfylld arbetsmiljö förmedarbetarna på företag inom den privata delen tjänstesektorn.
