Efficiency has become an important objective for many providers of welfare services. Among Swedish schools, both private and public, increased administrative demands seemingly influence operations, and affect teachers negatively through perceived stress. Simultaneously, Swedish students scored an all-time low in the latest PISA survey, and are now performing below the OECD-average in science, mathematics and reading. A central administrative task in the Swedish elementary school is the parent-teacher conference, which is an important activity in supporting the development of the student's knowledge and social skills. Lean is a well-established operations framework, which has proven successful in order to improve process efficiency.

The management at the City of Stockholm?s Sports Department have problems. During recent years several IT-projects have been launched but results are worse than could have been hoped for. The projects are generally perceived as being too expensive, too time consuming and not to have delivered the expected results. This thesis aims at giving the City of Stockholm?s Sports Department theoretically based advice on how to improve their management of IT-projects.

I have used theoretical framework to establish a process flow analysis. This is to obtain data on process activities and whether they are creating value or not. This leads to a current mapping of the situation in Secoroc on DTH-pipes and then analyzed and suggestions for improvement are developed.Conclusions: That by using the above mentioned mapping of process flow of DTH-pipes, problem areas could be illustrated.

The purpose of this essay was to in a specific project for unemployed youths between 18 and 24 years, from an ecological point of view, examine how the youths experienced their unemployment and also to compare the purpose and structure of the project with the participants' experience.Important questions in my essay were how the unemployment affected the youths' identity and social circumstances, if the participants found the project meaningful, and experienced that they could influence how the project was formed, if the purpose of the project was in accordance with the youths' experience and how the ecological perspective could be used to understand the situation of the youths.To answer these questions one interview was made with one of the employees and five interviews were made with participant youths.The results of the essay was that the youths' experience of the project were very much individual. All of the participants found something in the project meaningful and most of them thought that it was possible to influence the project in some way. Something that both the youths and the employee pointed out as important was the employees and their supporting role..

The purpose of this essay is to compare two investigationprojects /evaluationproject (BBICOHPeL) regarding theoretical anchoring and operationmethods. Important questions in our research has been: What from BBIC can be found in the OHPeL-project, what has become of the fundamentals in BBIC when they have been introduced into this new context, has the ecological development theory remained in the OHPeL-project, is it possible to say that the OHPeL-project is a further development, distortion or something completely different from BBIC. To find answers to our questions we have studied 17 protocols from evaluationmeetings in the OHPeL project. This led us to the results that BBIC in many ways are present in the project. There are also differences between the projects.

Det har blivit allt dyrare att bygga i Sverige, den svenska byggnadsindustrin har halkat efter övrig producerande industri och byggföretagen måste börja tänka i nya banor om de ska klara de nya utmaningarna. Lean-tänkande har länge nyttjats inom den tillverkande industrin och byggföretag har på senare år börjat snegla på dessa koncept i syfte att öka sin produktivitet. Problemet är att byggindustrin inte har homogena produktionsmiljöer och därmed inte kan använda samma lean-koncept som exempelvis bilindustrin. Därför har ett nytt koncept som kallas Lean construction utvecklats som bygger på ett antal principer från traditionella produktionssynsätt (Koskela, 2000). Konceptet är relativt nytt och forskningen inom området har främst fokuserat på lösningar på specifika problem istället för att skapa förståelse för konceptets helhet.

Fallstudiens syfte är att skapa en förståelse för hur man kan identifiera ekonomiska förluster samt förbättra det interna produktionsflödet med rekommenderade förbättringsåtgärder. Målsättningen är att skapa en modell som kan hjälpa SMF att förbättra sin produktion. Bakgrund:Företagens villkor utifrån ett konkurrensperspektiv ändras idag fortare än någonsin och möjligheterna att nå framgång bygger i högre grad på en förmåga att förutse, anpassa sig till och agera på omvärldens snabbt föränderliga krav. Flertalet forskare redogör för att företags lednings- och styrkoncept måste förändras för att tillgodose de behov som den moderna globala marknadens dynamik ställer. De senaste decennierna har Lean och Agile trätt fram som två lednings- och styrkoncept som vunnit i popularitet och anammats av många företag som önskar effektivisera sin verksamhet. Både Lean och Agile använts främst inom produktion och det finns relativt lite forskning kring hur dessa två lednings- och styrmodeller appliceras inom andra verksamhetsområden samt hur de kan kombineras.Syfte:Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur ledningsgrupper inom en global IT- organisation använder sig av och kombinerar Lean och Agile, samt hur ledningsgrupperna upplever att detta påverkar deras arbetssätt och leveransförmåga.Metod:Studien är genomförd i form av en kvalitativ fallstudie av företaget Volvo IT. Insamling av data har skett via intervjuer med representanter för olika ledningsgrupper inom Volvo IT samt genom att sitta med vid möten och föra anteckningar och via insamlad dokumentation från websidor och intern företagsinformation.Slutsats:Resultaten visar på att Lean och agila arbetssätt tycks fungera bra ihop och kompletterar varandra väl.

Fredells also produces prefab- or prefabricated products which are either completely or partially ready for assembly the moment they arrive to the building site. These prefab-products are primarily delivered to customers within the Stockholm region. The building industry is a conservative market where the incentive to changes has been relatively low compared to other industries.

ABSTRACTOverweight and obesity is an increasing problem worldwide although high-income countries take a leed. High BMI during pregnancy and delivery constitute to many risks for both the mother and her outcome. Intervention programmes with the purpose to get the pregnant women to eat healthier and to excercise more are now working out in many different shapes. The effect of these activities varies. The aim of this study was to investigate if interventions during pregnancy, with women who?s BMI are 25 or more, affects health of the mother and her expected child, delivery outcome and self estimated health.

Detta har resulterat i att många företag valt att införa produktionsstrategin Lean Production. Flera forskare har påvisat att den traditionella ekonomistyrningen inte är anpassad till och lämplig för företag som använder produktionsstrategin Lean Production. Detta har inneburit att den traditionella ekonomistyrningen måste förändras och utvecklas för att kunna stödja de förändringar som den nya produktionsstrategin ger upphov till. Därmed blev det intressant att studera ett enskilt fallföretag för att identifiera om och hur detta företag har förändrat sin ekonomistyrning till följd av användandet av Lean Production. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att utifrån det enskilda fallet Gnutti Powertrain AB bidra med en förståelse för hur ekonomistyrningens utformning och användning påverkas av användandet av den avancerade produktionsstrategin Lean Production.

Som ett sätt att effektivisera produktionen har Lean blivit ett populärt tankesätt inom byggbranschen. Lean har sin grund i bilindustrin och Toyota Production System men har anpassats till förutsättningarna inom byggindustrin. Tanken med Lean är att öka effektiviteten i produktionen genom att eliminera värdeförluster som förbrukar resurser och inte tillför kunden något värde. Dessa värdeförluster definieras ofta som slöseri i form av materialspill, tidsförluster, omarbete, överarbete, transporter och lager. Slöseriet i byggprojekt kan motsvara upp till 30-35% av projektets totala produktionskostnad.
