The purpose of this essay is to investigate the subject field of male vegans and masculinities through empirical method interviews and narrative analysis. The starting-point for this essay is animal ethics, feminist ethic vegetarianism and theories that suggest that eating meat is one part of the social construction of masculinities. The problem formulation is such as follows:How do male vegans construct masculinity? In an attempt to answer such a question there are three problem formulations:What do male vegans think about the connection between manhood and eating meat?How do male vegans relate to the norms in society?What do male vegans think of stereotype conceptions about vegans?I will come to the conclusion that male vegans think that eating meat, as well as drinking beer, is one part of the social construction of masculinities. Male vegans are aware of norms in the surroundings and the strong attachment of meat normativity in the western culture.

Följande rapport är resultatet av det examensarbete som utförts våren 2011 inom innovativ produktion/logistik vid Mälardalens Högskola. Examensarbete behandlar ämnet Green Production med fokus på skillnader mellan ett produktionssystem som bygger på Lean Production och ett som bygger på Green Production. Områden som berörs i rapporten är de verktyg som används i de olika produktionssystemen, hur arbetet med miljöförbättrande åtgärder kan se ut i praktiken samt vilka svårigheter som finns vid arbete med miljöförbättrande åtgärder i ett företag. Examensarbetet består av en litteraturstudie där aktuell litteratur studerats inom området samt en intervjustudie som genomförts med insatta inom miljöfrågor kopplat till produktion samt operatörer.Bakgrunden till examensarbetet grundar sig i att världen står inför en framtid där många utav de råmaterial som används idag vid produktion inte kommer att kunna nyttjas i framtiden. Detta i kombination med de miljöproblem som människan åsamkat, har bidragit till att många företag insett att miljöaspekter måste vara i åtanke genom hela produktionsprocessen.Den uppfattning som erhållits genom intervjustudierna är att det är viktigt för ett företag att visa att de arbetar med miljöförbättrande åtgärder.

Examensarbetet inleddes med en förstudie där olika förbättringsområden inom organisationen identifierades. Kommunikation i praktiken kan liknas vid ett förstärkningsverktyg vilket påverkar de vanligaste faktorerna för ett lyckat förändringsarbete. Idag måste en ledare och chef vara kommunikativ och det fungerar inte längre med att peka med hela handen. Medarbetarna måste förstå sin chef och ledare och det måste finnas ett samspel mellan dem. För att chefer och ledare ska styra förändringsprocessen behövs kommunikation.Syfte med examensarbetet är att undersöka hur kommunikationsprocessen kan användas som styrmedel mot en social förändring.

Our Bachelor´s Thesis has been performed in co-operation with Bors Automation & Tool AB.Our task was to develop a servomotor powered tube cutting-machine with initial point fromtoday's hydraulic driven tube cutting machine Bors HYD 23. Lean Production är en produktionsfilosofi vars fokus är att eliminera alla former av slöseri som inte skapar värde för kunden. Ursprunget till Lean Production kan härledas till fordonsindustrin och det japanska Toyota Production System. Systemets tanke byggde på en effektiv produktion för att kunna möta konkurrensen från större amerikanska konkurrenter som kunde dra nytta av storskalsfördelar i sin massproduktion. Ett av inslagen i Toyota Production Systems var att lagra material i nära anslutning till produktionen i så kallade supermarkets.

This diploma work addresses the question of how much energy is spent whenmanufacturing the components of a building as well as of how much energy is used inthe production of a building. The object of the studies is BioCentrum at the SwedishUniversity of Agricultural Sciences in Ultuna just outside the city of Uppsala. The aimof the work was to investigate how much energy was consumed when manufacturingand production in relation to the management, how many years the production wasrepresented. It was also a study in how mature the construction industry is to answerhow much energy was consumed in manufacturing.In order to get these answers a question form was developed and sent to thesuppliers to BioCentrum. In this form they were to respond to the quantity suppliedto BioCentrum and the amount of energy was spent when manufacturing thecomponents.

The purpose of this study was to highlight how women who have been victims of rape are described in discussion forums on the Internet and how the view obtained is affected by victim and gender constructions. By observing several discussion threads on Swedish internet forums, we have been able to explore how discussions and attitudes are made about women who are victims of rape and which characteristics are assigned females. This study analyzes these attitudes from a gender construction theory and a victim construction theory. Through this analysis, we wanted to gain a deeper understanding of attitudes about female rape victims and if the attitudes are rooted in victim and gender constructions. This study shows that women are often assigned responsibility to a rape if she put herself at risk and if she is assigned negative attributes such as promiscuous, as a liar or if she drinks too much alcohol.

In the paper three women with vulvar vestibulitis (long-term pain condition during sexual intercourse) were interviewed to find which conceptions the women experience exist about vestibulitis and how the women they self feel about the condition. Furthermore it was examined if and how the construction of vulvar vestibulitis affects the identity of the women. The method used was half-structured interviews with interview guide. Foucault's discourse analysis was used to analyse the interviews. Several constructions of vestibulitis were revealed from the interviews.

Is there something that we have to change?In this study I have asked our former students about their opinion of our education and I have also asked them to give me their view on what a good teacher is like. I have been able to benefit a lot from their answers in my efforts to be that good teacher. This survey took place at Facebook.The answers showed that we carry on a piece of solid workmanship. This introduction explains why it has become so popular to changeyour windows into plastic- and aluminium windows and there is an existing scepticismagainst PVC and aluminium as construction material for windows.The main part of this report is constructed by segments of interviews where bothproducers of windows and stakeholders gets to answer questions about their viewing onno-maintenance windows from a material and construction point of view and where theproduction is headed to in the future. This is followed by an evaluation of a questionnaireon how pleased the house owners that changed their old windows to no-maintenancewindows are, followed by an inspection of windows made up from wood and an aluminiumclothing, windows made from only aluminium and PVC-based windows. It ends with atheory part about the materials PVC and metal based upon facts included in literature.By reading this report you can draw the conclusion that no window can be entirely nonmaintenancebut that the materials PVC and aluminium still are good substitutes for woodto lessen the maintenance..
