The work has been performed in collaboration with Jönköping University. The aim of this work has been to study different methods for mobile adaption of large CMS (Content Management System) websites, where the website of Jönköping has been used as a reference.The website at Jönköping University is used daily by current students, faculties, prospective students and external users. Research carried out by the University shows that the use of mobile devices has increased, and it is therefore necessary to examine the mobile adaptation of the large CMS website.A layout proposal has been suggested by determining which method that is most relevant for mobile adaption of a large CMS website. The website should adapt to different resolutions and devices according to how the existing website is based in the current situation. Emphasis has been put on menu operations, to navigate through the large website in a user-friendly way.

Detta examensarbete behandlar ämnet bokformgivning. Uppdraget bestod i att jag fick ett manus som skulle formges till en bok. Rapporten beskriver arbetets gång med metoder och principer inom informationsdesign och typografi. Uppgiften var korrläsning och viss redigering av text, val av format, typsnitt och storlekar, layout, brytning av texten, formgivning av omslag och omslagstext.Titeln på boken är Minsta möjliga friskvård och är riktad till chefer, friskvårdare och anställda. Den handlar om hur företagen kan stödja de anställda som inte är så intresserade av friskvård, de som inte orkar träna eller inte har lust att röra på sig.

This project report shows the work around a mockup to a three-dimensional avatar-making application. An avatar-making application is a computer-based software program in which it is possible to create your own personal virtual character. The possibility to use three-dimensional avatars can in the future be essential for adding extra personal information or characteristics to social communication over the internet or over mobile phones. The problem of transforming a physical form and reconstruct it to a virtual basis has been an important problem to solve for many companies and software developers in the, for instance, virtual worlds area. Methods and ideas over making this transformation is the key throughout this project.

The purpose of this master's thesis is to examine how the public library communicates with young users through the library web sites. Four Swedish public library web pages for children are analysed. In the analysis the web pages are treated as a combination of semiotic resources that, communicating as a whole, hold a meaning potential. In order to identify the underlying meaning of the whole I have applied the tools of Kress' & van Leeuwen's visual social semiotics to the chosen web pages.The information value, the framing and the salience of each composition is examined and analysed, as is the size of frame, the perspective and the vertical angle of a selection of images from each web page. The results of the semiotic analysis are then discussed and related to Jochumsen et al:s four space-model and the notion of ?child perspective? and ?empowerment?.The results show that the child perspective is strongest on the web pages that represent the performative space as dominating and that empowerment is mainly represented as ?doing?, ?participating? and the ?free choice?.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att visa på hur Totebo AB kan effektivisera material-hanteringen runt en UV-lackeringslina genom att införa en automatisk lösning. En automatisk lösning skulle också minska det monotona arbete som dagens lösning kräver. Totebo AB agerar som underleverantör inom planmöbelindustrin i Sverige och har en väldigt stor produktmix. Planmöbler är uppbyggda av platta träfiberskivor som monteras ihop till kompletta möbler.Ett förslag på lackeringslinans layout har tagits fram där den stora utmaningen har varit att anpassa den automatiska utrustningen till att klara alla 9000 produktvarianter samtidigt som lösningen måste vara driftsäker och ekonomiskt försvarbar.Arbetet har även utmynnat i dessa slutsatser:? Den största produktionsökningen fås genom att maximera utnyttjandet av lackeringslinans bredd vilket inte kan göras i dagsläget? Automatisk in- och utmatning för lackeringslinan ger följande fördelar:o Stor procentuell ökning av produktioneno Möjlighet till att kunna köra linan snabbare i framtideno Inget monotont arbete för operatörernao Driften av lackeringslinan blir mindre operatörsintensiv? Utveckling av en metod samt utveckling av en maskin för att kunna separera på träfiberskivor som ?limmats? fast i varandra efter kantlackering.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the application of sensory marketing in malls.Problem discussion: The competition between malls is increasing, where visitors are increasing demands on the shopping malls layout. Shopping malls surface and its atmosphere becomes essential in the design of a mall so it will be attractive enough. Sensory marketing can be an appropriate method to stand out from the crowd and attract visitors. Sensory marketing is a process of engaging visitor?s senses to create a strong relationship between the brand and visitors.

This bachelor thesis covers fire protection methods of structural steel and the aim is to develop an information tool designed for inexperienced structural engineers. The information tool covers basic fire protection methods and the general way to produce a fire resistance for structural steel. The layout of this information tool is a simple folder that contains information about the most important steps when producing fire protection for a steel structure.The thesis starts with a general overview of the fire protection needed in buildings to fulfill national legislative and regulatory requirements. To get an understanding of how steel components behave during the influence of fire, a brief overview is presented of the material properties of steel. This chapter also contains a review of previous research in the area.

AbstractThe aim of this study is to investigate how a picture book for children is transformed into an easy-to-read version for children who have just started reading. I examine two versions of Emil of Lönneberga. One of the books is the orginal picture book of Emil in Lönneberga and was written by Astrid Lindgren (1963), while the other is an easy-toreadversion of the book, as adapted by the author Helena Renvall (1977). I have conducted a comparative study as a text and picture analysis of the material, with the focus on the adaptation of the original story. The adaptation in this case is a revision intended to make the story easier to read and more accessible to today?s children.

Användandet av mobila enheter tillsammans med stationära datorer ökar ständigt. När användare interagerar med mobila enheter uppstår ofta problem som i första hand beror på de mobila enheternas små skärmar. Vid migrering av information visar forskning att det är av stor vikt att minska användarens börda att återskapa familjariteten som en gång upplevts med tidigare gränssnitt. Den här studien belyser problematiken med att migrera information mellan artefakter oberoende skärmstorlekar, samtidigt som familjariteten bibehålls. Uppsatsen är ett resultat av en kvalitativ studie som undersöker vilka olika designelement som påverkar familjaritet vid migrering av information.

På Volvo Lastvagnars lackeringsavdelning i Umeå byggs just nu ett nytt täcklacksmåleri. Det nya måleriet skapar möjligheten att lackera lastbilshytten tillsammans med plastartiklar som sedan ska fästas på hytten. Detta upplägg kommer att minska de kvalitetsproblem som idag uppstår när hytt och plastartiklar lackeras i två skilda processer (hytt i Umeå och plast i Belgien) Projektets mål och syfte är att ta fram en lösning för hur och var plastartiklarna ska hanteras. Ergonomin ska ligga i fokus och utformningen av arbetsstationerna ska främja en välmående personal. För att få tiden att räcka till begränsas projektet till att enbart grovplanera hela flödet med alla artiklarna samt att arbetsplatser för frontluckan detaljutformas. De största problemen med att utöka produktionen med plastartiklar samt de givna förutsättningarna kan sammanfattas i tre punkter: Ergonomi – enkla, monotona uppgifter som liknar varandra längs hela flödet samt att erfarenhet kring manuella arbetsuppgifter saknas på avdelningen.

Vårt mål med detta arbete har varit att få reda på hur vi kan inspirera elever till att arbeta med poesi. För att komma fram till ett resultat i denna fråga har vi läst litteratur, analyserat läromedel samt samtalat med svensklärare som arbetar med poesi i år 7.Vi har genom vårt arbete kommit fram till att läraren är den största och viktigaste inspirationskällan för eleverna. Utan en engagerad lärare infinner sig inte den rätta poetiska stämningen. Läromedel kan också vara till viss hjälp som inspiration, men då gärna i form av en nypresentation av läraren. Via vår läromedelsanalys har vi nämligen sett att många läromedel, p.g.a.

The use and attention given to the certification system ?Miljöbyggnad? has increasedin recent years. The system is completely Swedish and was initiated in 2005 by theBygga-Bo-Dialogen. Miljöbyggnad aims to create a healthy indoor environment, reduceenergy consumption and discourage the use of hazardous chemical substances. Thegrades that can be obtained are Classified, Brons, Silver and finally Gold.The work has been to examine three different models and conclude how the designof the models affect the grades in the certification system Miljöbyggnad.

The purpose of this thesis work is to evaluate how the physical behaviour of a pipe bend is affected by the pipe bending procedure. Effects such as initial ovalization, thinning, thickening and plastic hardening from the bending procedure are examined and the mechanical properties of pipe bends containing these effects are investigated.This has been evaluated by creating a detailed Finite Element model of a pipe that is being bent. Then the differences compared to a bent tube in a virgin state, so called Elbow elements and an analytical in-house program have been evaluated. The virgin state refers to a model of a pipe that is bent from the beginning, thus having a homogeneous thickness and not containing any plastic hardening. The Elbow element is a calculationally cheap element, specially developed for accurate calculations of pipe bends in an initially virgin state.The goal with the thesis work is to get a better picture of what happens to a pipe as it is being bent, how this affects the mechanical properties and to evaluate the possibility to develop an easy method for taking these effects into account when using the Elbow element.This report describes the layout of the work and how the detailed FE-model has been constructed.

This report describes how we made a dynamic website combined with staticalweb pages and a web shop for the Swedish company Tyger & Ting.The employer Tyger & Ting wish to run a working web shop on their site butthey want to keep their old system of updating pages with their old applicationfrom Intellyweb1, which creates statical HTML pages.The goal of this exam paper has been to learn to create a functional web shopwith user friendly layout and appealing design and also to take orders andfulfill wishes from a real employer.The report is describing how Intellyweb?s application and its statical web pageshas been implemented on a dynamic web page. The report does also describehow this site has been build and how the problems with the coding have beensolved. The coding has been made with HTML, PHP and MySQL. CSS hasalso been used.
