This essay examines the role of repetition in the two novels Älskaren (The Lover) by Marguerite Duras and Den amerikanska flickan (The American Girl) by Monika Fagerholm, through a thematic and comparative reading. The study mainly uses Bruce F. Kawin?s analysis of repetition in literature and language as well as it refers to Cathy Jellenik and her analysis of rewriting in the works of Duras. The study also takes into Julia Kristeva?s idea of Duras as a writer lacking of catharsis.

Many invasive species propose a big threat against the native fauna in the area that they colonise. Today the raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides) is speeding from Finland over the border in to northern Sweden. A project to stop the spread and eliminate the individuals that already have established was initiated in the autumn of 2008. To investigate areas that might be interesting for raccoon dogs and to confirm sightings, cameras with auto triggering mechanisms are used. To get the raccoon dog in front of the camera some kind of lure is used. In this study three kinds of different lures was tested against each other?s.

This paper is a study and comparison between the two Wireless LAN (WLAN) standards HiperLAN/2 and IEEE 802.11a. WLANs are used instead or together with ordinary LANs to increase mobility in for example an office. HiperLAN/2 is an European standard developed by ETSI and the IEEEs standard is American. A WLAN-card consists roughly of a Medium Access Control (MAC), Physichal layer (PHY) and an antenna. The antenna is the same for the different standards.

Bakgrund: ADA:s Nutritionsbehandlingsprocess (NCPM) är en modell som beskriver dietistens arbetsprocess ? nutritionsbehandlingsprocessen. Den har utarbetats av ADA (the American Dietetic Association) i syfte att effektivisera och evidensbasera dietistens arbetsprocess för att på så sätt höja dietistyrkets status, stimulera forskningsinsatser inom nutritionsområdet och säkerställa effekten och patientnyttan av den kliniska dietistens arbete. Föreliggande arbete ingår som ett led i implementeringen av ADA:s Nutritionsbehandlingsprocess (NCPM) vid ett svenskt universitetssjukhus.Syfte: Att ta fram ett journalgranskningsinstrument för granskning av dietistjournaler, samt att med detta instrument kartlägga nutritionsbehandlingsprocessen vid sjukhusets dietistklinik och hur denna journalfördes innan ADA:s Nutritionsbehandlingsprocess implementerades.Metod och material: Ett journalgranskningsinstrument med tillhörande granskningsanvisningar utformades med utgångspunkt från de fyra stegen i ADA:s Nutritionsbehandlingsprocess. Frågorna validerades och inter- respektive intrabedömarreliabilitetstestades.

We were interested in catalogers as human beings and in their reaction to a changed working situation. In the light of the changes which have been made at the libraries during the nineties, we investigated why the very group catalogers reacted with an intense and engaged open debate at the same time as librarians with special competence didn t seem to react in this way. The open debate about the catalogers changed working conditions was held in Sweden, above all at BIBLIST, which is a forum for library-connected questions. This forum uses an email list made particularly for librarians. The situation of the librarians was, to a small extent, also discussed in publications made for the library line of business.

In the 1970´s the North American lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) was introduced to Sweden in large scale. The lodgepole pine affects its new environment different from Scots pine (P. sylvestris), leading to a change in biological diversity. Forestry today affects the ground beetle fauna (Carabidae). Habitat specialists associated with older forests are first affected. When the canopy closes again after a clear-cutting species that prefer open habitats reduces and those who prefer mature/closed forests increase. In this study we compare differences in diversity and community structure of ground beetles in stands of lodgepole pine and Scots pine.

Bakgrund: Parodontit definieras som en inflammationssjukdom orsakad av en obalans mellan bakterier i den dentala biofilmen och värdens immunförsvar. Det saknas en enhetlig klassificering för allvarlig kronisk parodontit i epidemiologiska studier; internationell data avseende prevalens och utbredning av kronisk parodontit är därför svårtolkade. Det saknas studier som har undersökt huruvida och hur mycket variationerna av klassificeringar påverkar utfallet, det vill säga prevalensen av allvarlig kronisk parodontit. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att utvärdera skillnaderna mellan fem olika klassificeringar av allvarlig kronisk parodontit: (i) Konsensuskonferensen 1999, (ii) American Academy of Periodontology and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (AAP/CDC), (iii) European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), (iv) Jönköpingsstudien samt (v) Skånestudien. Material och Metod: För att kunna jämföra klassificeringarna studerades prevalensen av allvarlig kronisk parodontit utifrån en population i Kalmar län.

Denna uppsats försöker beskriva Johan Magnus Wickelius (1817-1867) livsförståelse. Eller hans teologiska typ. I det arbetet har jag använt Benkt-Erik Benktsons typologiska metod, inom vilken man arbetar med schematiserade typer som Wickelius är jämförd med och placerade inom (eller inte) under arbetes gång. Denna typologiska metod är inte en klassificering där individen, som undersöks, är placerad i ett fack för alltid. Individen är istället placerad i ett landskap där de schematiserade typerna är som kullar emellan (eller på) vilka individen sedan placeras.

The object of this thesis is the foundation of ethics. The question is whether there exists a universal core to ethics consisting of a fundamental ethical principle across cultures. The primary goal of this study was to investigate how the radial growth of retained trees responds after thinning-from-above. The National Board of Forestry which initiated this study, was interested in whether there were differences in the growth-response between the tree species Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.). Another question of issue was if there were differences in the growth response between trees of different sizes. It is within the framework of the National Board of Forestry?s, Continuous Forests Project that these urgent questions are to be answered.

This two years master´s thesis examines how books and literature can strengthen the contact between imprisoned fathers and their children, and the connection between the treatment of offenders and education in Sweden. The methods used are interviews and textual analysis. The theoretical starting points are influenced by Bernt Gustavssons works concerning the concept of education (the Swedish term ?bildning?) and Foucaults thoughts on the subject of power and its relation to knowledge and resistance.Through history many attempts have been made to ?cure? those who commit criminal acts by educating them, at first to enable them to get employed after serving their sentence, the education thus being for the greater good of the society in general, but since the 1940?s the aim has shifted towards education for the individuals own personal development and readjustment to society.The findings indicate that the service provided to prisons by public libraries play an important role for the inmates, as a source of books for amusement and diversion as well as providing the means for education. This thesis examines four reading programmes in prison, in order to establish their place in the tradition of education within the Swedish penal system.

Food is widely consumed and in 2011 an average American devoured approximately one ton of food. The production of these goods requires large amounts of energy and contributes to 22-31 % of all greenhouse gas emissions occurring in Europe. More than one third of the produced food is discarded instead of consumed, and food waste make up about 30 % of the waste generated by households. 60 % of this food waste could be avoided if the eatables were handled in a better way.Avoidable food waste arises partly because residues from food are not taken care of, and because the food is not stored in a way that optimise its durability. Residues arises part- ly because of the contradictory and complex demands of everyday life and are, because of our busy lifestyle, difficult to avoid.
