It is important for firms to continually develop their offerings as the business Landscape develops in order to sustain their competitiveness (e.g. Schumpeter, 1934; Ansoff, 1979; Porter, 1985; Trott, 2012). In a context of globalization, rapid technology development and changing customer needs, the paper packaging industry is urged to enhance its product development activities (Hansen & Niskanen, 2007; Björkdahl & Börjesson, 2011). However, there is little research about paper packaging firms? product development processes (ibid).

Områden med skyddad skog i norra Fennoskandia, som tidigare beskrivits som orörd urskog, har på senare tid visat sig vara påverkade av långvarigt mänskligt resursutnyttjande. Historiska analyser av ekosystem, där även antropogena störningar beaktas, har därför börjat lyftas fram som en viktig del i naturvårdsarbete (Foster m.fl. 2003). De hjälper oss att förstå hur strukturer och störningsdynamik har förändrats över tiden, vilket kan vara till stor hjälp vid skötselplanering och restaurering. Det övergripande syftet med den här studien var att kvantifiera kulturspår och analysera förekomsterna av kulturvärden i relation till framförallt naturvärden, men även sociala värden, i ett skyddsvärt borealt barrskogsområde. Min avsikt var att försöka exemplifiera hur skogshistoria kan användas för att skapa underlag för skötselplanering i områden med naturvårdsanpassad skogsskötsel.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to adjusting corporate goals so that they are not only based on maximizing corporate profits, but include ethical standards on socially desirable behavior (Boatright, 2008). Even though many companies have integrated CSR into their business operations, there are still many issues that are difficult to tackle. Especially Multinational Corporations (MNCs) in the global business environment face many challenging situations due to the fact that they often have linkages to countries where the local government is either unwilling or unable to take care of its responsibilities. MNCs often find themselves with increased responsibilities when they start solving some of the issues that earlier have been the sole responsibility of states. A specific case situation discussed in this paper is related to ?conflict minerals?.

This thesis is a study of residential environments and a design concept for a proposed housing area in Tierp. The industrial era created a need for the central planning of housing. The confined environments that arised in cities during the 19th century, together with modernistic and democratic ideas, led to regulations in planning and housing. Though the overall goal has been the same: to create a good standard in living, the ideas of how to achieve that have varied. The starting point for following generations has been to attend to the insufficiencies of the earlier planning periods.

Executive summary This master thesis was originally based on a specific assignment given to the authors from ABB Full Service, a unit specializing in providing maintenance outsourcing: ?How can ABB Full Service expand its offering of providing fundamental maintenance by seamlessly incorporating the business concept with competencies and solutions from other ABB divisions?? The academic issue was developed throughout the thesis, resulting in the following formulation: ?From an organizational perspective; how can service providers bring continuous added value to intra-organizational outsourcing partnerships?? Many of the key findings of this thesis are reflected in the issue. The term intra-organizational outsourcing is a proposed addition to the terminology in the academic discourse on outsourcing. The definition of the term is: ? Where an organization outsources a business process interlinked with the physical operations, requiring the service provider to take over a preexisting unit and its employees.This is an accurate description of the form of outsourcing that ABB Full Service is engaged in.

The aim with this thesis was to investigate what characterises an English Arts and Crafts garden how they could be modernised in Sweden. My research was limited to 20 weeks of full-time writing and worth 30 ECTS. Through literature studies, interviews and site visits I could analyse my findings which resulted in a concrete garden design project. The Arts and Crafts was a movement that started in England during the 1880?s and evolved as a reaction towards the industrialisation. The influence came from the writings and practices of John Ruskin (1819-1900) and William Morris (1834-1896) who advocated the importance of craftsmanship. The Arts and Crafts movement also became a ?recipe for life? and was associated with a healthy and morally pure way of living.

The farming system is the basis of human existence through its production of provisions for man. By a continuous exchange of information, energy and material, between the ecosystems and the social systems, the farming system becomes an emergent property. The system's own properties, in the sense of farming methods, circulations and institutions, evolve through an adaptive process. Understanding this process and constantly learn from it, is the starting point for creating a sustainable development within farming systems. Thus, future farming system has to develop strategies that produce food provisions while at the same time takes into consideration the ecosystem's resilience and its integrity, but which also enables an ethical discussion. The institutions within the farming system are understood as links between the ecosystems and the social systems.

Det svenska kulturlandskapet har förändrats radikalt under de senaste 200 åren från ett varierat och heterogent landskap till ett mer monotont, homogeniserat landskap som följd av att olika former av mänskligt resursutnyttjande har effektiviserats. Detta har lett till en fragmentering av livsmiljöerna för flera av kulturlandskapets arter. Kraftledningsgator kan tänkas hysa naturtyper som påminner om vissa av de nu försvunna eller fragmenterade livsmiljöerna (t ex betad skogsmark och vissa typer av ängsmarker) och skulle kunna ha en viktig betydelse som reträttplats och/eller spridningskorridor för dessa arter.I en fallfällsinventering i Köpings och Strängnäs kommun i Mälardalen undersöktes förekomst och abundans av marklevande evertebrater i kraftledningsgator, skog och betesmark. Jämförelser i förekomst och abundans gjordes mellan dessa marktyper (d v s kraftledningsgator, skog och betesmark), samt mellan positioner inom kraftledningsgator (centrala och distala delar) och närliggande skogsmark. Jämförelserna innefattade dels analyser av artantal (eller snarare antal taxa) och flera olika biodiversitetsindex och dels analyser av likhet i artförekomst och individantal med "likhetsindex" (similarity index).

This thesis was written during the autumn 2007. I wanted to understand the situation of the contemporary architecture in a perspective broader than merely the Swedish. I asked myself what remained of architecture if one would eliminate purely functional, aesthetical and ecological aspects. With help from literature I interviewed theorists in architecture, practitioners and a philosopher to hear their thoughts regarding what architecture can or should be about. The result of the interviews and the literature studies constitute the two initial parts of the thesis.

Being an architect I create spaces with roof, walls and fl oor. The availability of the essential materials to create such spaces is practically unlimited. The materials also play a significant part to the character of the created space. I hope to contribute to the general understanding of materials as elements in the design of urban spaces by having intensely explored one specific material in depth, pointing out its bad and good qualities. I am of the opinion that the reason for choosing a material shouldn?t be because of a shortage of knowledge, facts or references, but what character you want for the room. When travelling across Europe, it sometimes feels like clay paving is everywhere, but back in Sweden it is almost unseen of in modern Landscape architecture.

Rekreationscykling och cykelturism ökar i takt med ett växande intresse för hälsa, miljö och fysisk aktivitet. Cykling ligger i tiden och flera länder i Europa har de senaste åren satsat på nationella turistcykelleder. Kattegattleden kommer att bli Sveriges första nationella cykelled för turism och rekreation. Leden kommer att sträcka sig från Göteborg till Helsingborg och väntas bli ett besöksmål för såväl lokalbefolkning som nationella och internationella turister. Arbetet med att förverkliga leden har pågått under många år och har inneburit ett samarbete över kommun- och regiongränser. Kärnvärdena som Kattegattledens samarbetsparter definierat är: havsnära, variation, välkomnande, trygg och säker samt upplevelserik.

Dagens urbanisering skapar allt fler och större hårdgjorda stadsrum. Vid en förtätning är det inte sällan stadens gröna mellanrum som får minska sitt förtätning är det inte sällan stadens gröna mellanrum som får minska sitt utrymme. En hårdgjord förtätning medför på så vis att allt mer regnvatten behöver tas omhand om på annan plats än var det föll. Detta examensarbete i landskapsarkitektur belyser hur ett direkt och lokalt omhändertagande av regnvatten inte alltid kräver stora och enhetliga system, utan har som avsikt att belysa möjligheter för ett lokalt omhändertagande på de mindre ytorna i staden. Målet med arbetet är att se möjligheterna i stadens mindre ytor, såsom exempelvis refuger och trottoarer, när det gäller ett lokalt omhändertagande på plats.

For several years has there been a leading line from the government and the municipalities in Sweden to invest in schools and school grounds. The outdoor environment of schools has been rediscovered and given a greater importance. Investments have been made both practically with reconstruction and in a research context. Although, my work started with an assumption that these investments were mainly made at primary schools, and that secondary schools were set aside. The thesis This is my schoolyard.

Mind the gap encourages you to beware of the interspaces. The project seeks to defend the gaps that occur in time and space and encourages the reader to care about the interruptions of the routine-like and planned, whilst also opening up a discussion about interaction and participation. Mind the gap is a project about the many opportunities the public space has in the contemporary city. What you have in front of you is the result of this project. As society constantly changes, new and different needs arise in the city and it is necessary that architects and planners understand and adapt to these changes. They have to be able to develop new ways of thinking and to challenge established perceptions of what the public space is and should be. This means being able to see that the public space could be different and to recognize the potentials for it to change. This project examines the underlying ideals of urbanism and investigates the potentials of the City when shaped by these ideals.

Från förhistorisk tid till 1800-talets modernisering av jordbruket, har våtmarkerna spelat en betydande roll för människans val av bosättning och överlevnad. Man vet att i till exempel Skåne och Mälardalen är hela 90 % av våtmarkerna borta. Våtmarker tillhör landets mest artrika naturtyper. Fortsatt utdikning av våtmarker skulle leda till en stor utarmning av faunan och floran. Dessutom är det sedan länge känt att våtmarker fungerar som närsaltfällor. Eftersom olika utsläppsbegränsande åtgärder varit otillräckliga, har anläggning av våtmarker blivit en viktig åtgärd för att minska kväveutsläppet till havet. Fram till 1960-talet dikades våtmarker ut med statliga bidrag för att öka mängden jordbruksmark.
